Does anyone have a thermal imaging camera to take IR images of the print bed and print nozzle? With a thermocouple I probed around and I see a wide discrepancy over the area of the bed and at the nozzle when compared to the set point. For example bed setpoint=80c, center bed measures=74c, outer corner measures=64c. Nozzle setpoint=250c, measures=234c. I'm printing ABS and it matters!

Wow. All I can say is Thank You! this goes a long way to explaining the problems I've been having.
After I worked through x-axis, y-axis, z-axis and extruder problems, I was getting good results with ABS, but I could not get big parts to run to completion without them popping off the bed. Lots of wasted ABS...the link to the article tells the story why.
