Okay, thanks for the clarification. It sound like the SSR is shorted.

It looks like it is wired correctly.

In Configuration.h uncomment line 217 for PIDTEMPBED otherwise it just won't work. I think that is your issue. PIDBEDTEMP is not enabled by default in any version of Marlin.

Do you have to do that before you run the PID tuning through MatterControl?

So the order of steps is to enable PIDTEMPBED, upload new firmware, run PID tuning in MatterControl, plug in new values in firmware and upload that? So two different firmware uploads?

I figured I would run the PID tuning and then enable PIDTEMPBED with the new values and then upload the firmware.

And, I would agree other than than the fact that my bed starts heating as soon as I turn on the power to the machine. I also can not get the LED on the SSR to turn on, so could the problem be on the input side?

Regardless how you run PID Auto Tune it must be enabled first

Yes, yes, yes, yes. That is generally the way it is done.

No idea where you would have gotten that idea. PID must be enabled to use PID. Auto Tuning uses PID.

If the bed starts heating immediately upon turning on then the SSR is shorted or fried in some manner or another.
