You need to search through the printer log. If you were printing tethered to the computer it should be on your PC or Laptop. M999 is not the actual error, but rather a report of an error. the actual error is sometime before the report. Without that bit of info there is no one here that can actually tell you what went wrong.

    Bottom of page 33

Number of reasons, you need to do some detective work,

Could be any of the following (in no particular order)
    • bad thermistor
    • thermistor with short
    • thermistor out of place
    • fan blowing too much on hot end
    • fan blowing too hard
    • fan blowing on thermistor
    • etc.

Just as we suspected :) The FAQ has you covered (and @WheresWaldo does too).

<-Error:Extruder switched off. Temperature fell too much during print! [214.821]
<-Error:printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting) [214.844]

Did you read the FAQ and attempt what it suggested?

    What have you tried?

These are all the options. The last few are easy to try and fix

Sorry, I can only tell you what we have said.
Please bear in mind that everyone on here is a printer owner/user just like you.
I do not have instruction manuals I can give you :)

    Do the obvious for these:

    1)thermistor out of place
Visually check to make sure it is not knocked out of place on the heater block.

2)fan blowing too much on hot end
Make sure the parts fan is OFF (in the slicer settings) and see if that helps. Sure, you need it for some filaments, but see if disabling it makes an improvement.

    3) fan blowing too hard
    See above.

    4)fan blowing on thermistor
    See #1

It could also be a faulty thermistor in which case the simple solution is to replace the entire hotend.
The best solution is to replace the thermistor if you can. We can't help you with that unless we know EXACTLY which printer you have (beta/R1/R1+)
