Here's a look from behind. It's added about an inch of build height. e3d_bowden_robo3d_back.JPG

What secures the middle piece? Pressure fit? Might be best to start a new thread for this

A combination of snug fit and jb weld. I tried to draw them threaded but it didn't work out.

I promise I will. I did a 4 hour print last night but I want to put a few more hours on it first. Then tear it down and check for heat damage. As of right now, I don't think I'm going to find any. The heat reflective tape seems to be doing it's job. I didn't mention this before, but the carriage is PLA. As I tear it down, I'll get plenty of pictures and whip up a presentation.

    Printing my new LCD enclosure:

Removed what I could by hand:

    Then dissolved the rest:

I swear it looks better IRL!\

Did you print that white infill? Why were you removing it?

HIPS support. It gets in the way of the wires for the LCD.

Will the outer shell be printable w/o support? Or is it to much overhang?

I think externally it would look fine, but internally you'd get a lot of stringing.

I can send you the files if you're interested in trying out for yourself.

Looking at the part it seems like the least support removal method would be to print it on it's side and have support for the mounting arm.

Mike, I like it! Do you have a bearing at the top or just plastic for a guide to the z screws? No wobble, true dimensions. Very cool.

I have a bearing at the top. I took it out before those pictures but put it back in for the movie. I thought I took one with the bearings back in but I guess not.

Wow, nice! How tall is it? Do you think that wobble on the left screw will translate to any extruder movement?

You always impress, very nice. I'm assuming the size of the top brackets is so they sit snug with the Robo top on though it also appears you may have some other plans for them too??
