Been using the Robo R1+ for several months. Great machine so far.

This morning I went to do a print and noticed the left Z axis motor will not engage. And the Right Z Axis motor will only go up.

Powered down and restarted with the same result.

Any advise? Could the motor controllers be bad?

If the Z "only goes up" that is a problem with one of the Z axis switches being out of position. When that happens it will indicate a Z HOME when the Z is in fact, not homed. When that happens the firmware will only let you go up.

The one side that will not work is either a bad wire (or connection) from the RAMPS to the stepper or a bad stepper driver (the R1+ has two -- one for each side of the Z).

    Thank you for the reply.

I have checked the homing switches. And they all are fine. The Right Z would not go down because the unit thought it was home. I have isolated it to the left motor.

I have swapped cables between the drives, still only right side works.
Swapped cables at the motor, still only the right side works.

Isolated to the motor itself. How do you go about getting a replacement motor? And would this be under warranty, the unit is 4 months old?

Under warranty -- use the parts request form:

    https://robo3d.com/warranty-replacement/

I do not know what the warranty is these days. Used to be 5 months.

Out of warranty you can get them on Amazon (among other places) pretty cheap.
