    Hey everyone,

Just got into 3d printing and I'm having some issues. I feel my settings are off, and I'm not sure what's the best settings. I'm trying to print some small stuff with detail. It keeps stopping at the same 12min mark. Posted a photo to show how it's coming out

Which printer? (this is the R1 section -- just need to confirm)

There are some excellent online visual aids:

    https://www.simplify3d.com/support/print-quality-troubleshooting/
    https://all3dp.com/1/common-3d-printing-problems-troubleshooting-3d-printer-issues/

complete with pictures and suggestions to fix the problems.

Your Z offset is clearly not correct OR the filament is not adhering tot he bed (but visually I'd say it is the offset).

If your first layer does not look like this then it is wrong:

also, do not post duplicates across multiple sections. Put it in the correct one and it will get seen :)

No worries, delete it and repost it in that case.
Just let us know which printer you are dealing with we can even move it if needed.

For the R1 or R1+ the only real way to do this is via the startup GCode block in your slicer.

    Here is an example:

    G28; home all axis
    M565 Z-1.0; set the Z offset to 1.0mm
    G29; do autoleveling

If you are too far from the bed with that, lower it a bit (less negative) and too close to the bed, raise it a little (more negative)

M999 is usually the thermistor being bad (hard to say without seeing your entire GCode terminal because M999 -> Marlin just saying "an error occurred" not which error -- just "an" error). Usually this is the "Temperature feel too much during print" error and that is a flaky thermistor.
