When I turn my C2 on the robo logo shows for several minutes and then the screen goes black.

I worked OK last time I used it, about 4 weeks ago but now is giving this problem.

Is it just going to be loose cables that need re-seating or is it likely to be something else.

Just asking before I pull it apart in case it may be something simple.

    Many thanks in advance

Loose cables are the first thing to check.
If they are good to the Pi then you might have a bad boot SD CARD
See if you can still connect to OctoPrint even without the LCD.

I don't really think the cables are the issue since it displays the boot logo.

I have never tried connecting through Octoprint before, just use the USB stick to print.

I will have to try it.

Time to get the book out for that one.

EDIT:- Just tried to connect with the ios app with no luck

I can't use that (no iPhone)
but if you know the printer IP address just point your browser at it and see what you get.
    OctoPrint should be there.

There are 2 lights on the pi (small board in elect compartment) are they on when the printers on? Power cord just failed in mine (just fixed it with a old phone cord lol)

If it's been off for several weeks, it could be that it's tried to do that latest upgrade and is choking on some kind of timeout if it can't reach their server. First, I'd wait a long time to see if it pulls itself back up. I'd try a second bootup. And if all that fails, I'd try to connect to the http://ipaddress and then do the manual upgrade seen here.

If OctoPrint isn't being served up then I'd at least see if I could "ssh pi@ipaddress" the Raspberry Pi 3 to see if it's booted.

And for your own mental sake if you have NOT yet done it, back up the SD card on the Pi.
Then if it gets corrupted you can just reimage it back and let it update.

As Mark said, update it... I had the same issue and I just reinstalled the OS
I had to go through a few updates but its back and good as new

....until the drive gear flew off
