    Hey guys,
I noticed on my printer that the part that is attached to the top of the X carriage has a crack in. Its the part that the 2 extruder screws connect to. I cannot work out what the name of it is so be kind.
    I have a Robo 3D R1.
If anyone knows of a replacement that I can print before it gets any worse that would be awesome.
    Thanks

Be sure to select the version for J-Head. That is the style the Hex hotend that comes with the Robos is. I'd recommend http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18379. Printed it a couple times for folks and comes out pretty nice.

I print it without any support just fine. The model has one piece of support built in. Should be fine as is.

I am using Matter Control. I started to setup Cura and I think I have it at a point where I am comfortable.
What free slicer do you recommend Mark?

The best one out there is Simplify3D. Not free, but worth it.
You can review their video tutorials and help stuff here:

    https://www.simplify3d.com/support/

They do offer a satisfaction guarantee:

    https://www.simplify3d.com/buy-now/

"Try it for a full two weeks!

If you don’t love the software, return it for a full refund."

It puzzles me why folks will invest the cost of the printer and balk at the cost for good software :)
Not everyone does, but many do. It is not like the printer is free, get the most out of it.

I used the free software for over a year (tried them all and probably some you haven't heard of). They all failed somewhere, someway (sometimes often). I have yet to have a slicer related issue with S3D.

Any chance of getting a link?
I'd love to try before I buy.

I think you buy it first then you get two weeks to make up your mind.

Try it for a full two weeks!

If you don’t love the software, return it for a full refund.

    2 weeks?
I didn't see that part thanks.
I might give it a try the next vacation time I have.

To be clear, I don't run pirated software unless they don't have a trial version. If I like pirated software I buy it or unload it.
I get paid for my work, so should software makers.

I bought it and was very pleased. I havent heard of to many people not liking it...but I have heard people perfer Cura over S3D. The trial is a good thing for sure.
