    Hey folks!

I'm considering buying a power supply to replace the horrible one that came with my (1st gen) R2. It's noisy and I suspect it has damaged the on/off switch on two separate power strips that I've plugged it into, although I'm not aware of the mechanism through which that could happen. Still, it seems like an unlikely coincidence.

Is there anything else I need to worry about other than it outputting 24V and being able to handle at least 9.2A output? I see 4 pins and a metal shielding on the connector that plugs into the R2 body, so I'm worried it may be doing more than a simple 240/110 AC -> 24V DC. I'm more than happy to cut the wire and do some soldering, but that obviously won't help if the power supply is e.g. outputting two different voltages.

    Thanks!

It is AFAIK only supplying 24v dc to the printer via the barrel plug.
You can sanity check the voltages on the pins for the original versus the clone.
