"Your printer is reporting a hardware Error. This may prevent your printer from functioning properly.

Error Reported: "Error: Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting.)"."

I've been receiving this error for the last 3 months and have tried everything to fix it. I bought a new extruder, thermistor, and even a new ramps board and still no progress. I have a fan blowing directly on the ramps board because I didn't know if this meant it was over heating (if so how can i solve this?). I've flashed the firmware multiple times and re-firmwared it numerous times. Can anyone please help me understand what is going on?

That is (sadly) not the real error.
The error you are seeing is a loop that Marlin goes into once an error is reported.
So, you need to scroll way back through the log to find the actual error.

It would be so handy if Marlin would keep reporting the actual error in that loop, but nope.

PS. This is most certainly a hardware error being reported so playing with the firmware is not likely to help.

  4. Maybe it's the thermistor wire or heater core wire in the wire harness that's bad?

There is an earlier error. One that matters (the line number ones are not important)
Export the entire terminal log and we can find it.

You do not have the complete log,

    The one line:

"<-Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting) [3.123]"

Is what Marlin will constantly repeat after an error occurs. You need to capture the entire log.
Power off the printer, disconnect USB and then try again and save the entire log so we can catch the first error.

I wish Marlin would just repeat the original error.
    But, no...

    AND THERE IT IS:

    ->N1983 G1 X113.99 Y117.94 Z1.999 E229.763 F2484*99 [202.472]

<-Error:Extruder switched off. Temperature fell too much during print! [202.501]

    Your error.
:This is always a thermistor issue.
    1) loose wire to thermistor or loose connection
    2) thermistor itself is loose
    3) bad thermistor

    So something loose.
The thermistor itself might be loose or a loose connection.
Still possible it is cracked or defective, but working most of the time

that's weird because its a new thermistor and I've gone through two extruders and ramps boards thinking it was all those

Is it possible that it could be the heat bed? Or would the error say "Heat Bed"?

That error only refers to the nozzle temperature.
The firmware saw a sudden drop in temperature and raises that error and kills the print.
