I just upgraded my newer Robo3d R1+ to E3DV6 and a Titan Extruder. ( my older R1 has the same upgrades and is fine )

I printed 2 prints successfully after the upgrade.

My last 2 prints in a row after about 3 or 4 layers, the printer completely turns off.

Also as it is printing the LED lights flicker like crazy.

Is my power supply going out? or could it be something else?

Edit: Searched google, possibly I got a poor connection on the 40watt hot end heater i installed? i didn't remove a ton of insulation. I'll check that tomorrow.

How's your ramps cooling fan? Running all the time?

Ok yes the fan wasn't running. I just unplugged the fan and stuck my multimiter on the pins to see if it was getting 12v. It was.

But now i think i ruined it. As i was removing my multi meter i touched them together and the printer turned off.

Printer wont turn on at all now. A green light flashes on the board when i turn the power on.

The green light is from the arduino, if the fuse is good I'd say worst case you have a dead RAMPS

There is 12V going into the RAMPS so i think the fuse is fine. Crap.

Tried resetting the RAMPS. didn't work.

I have this in a box bought it because it was cheap. Guess its time to install it? Do you guys remember where that post was where somone else used one of these? Had instructions on wiring.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0111ZSS2O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Edit: Arduino seems ok I can connect to it via octo pi.

    Guess i killed my RAMPS.

Got new RAMPS all wired up, seems to be working. I dropped my parts fan on the floor and broke it and apparently my Ramps cooling fan is broken too. I have 2 new 12V's in the mail waiting for USPS to show up today.

One question, where do you plug the ramps cooling fan in? I'm guessing here.. it says 12V aux. But I dont know which pins.

PS..that ramps board i got from amazon lol man so many connectors and pins were bent because they don't package it for shit ( just a bunch of parts in a bag ). Manged to straighten everything out.

That RAMPS appears to not actually have pins for the 12v aux.

Doesn't matter though as you can run that fan straight to 12v from the power supply if you want. It should always be on.

The Thing i'm pointing at with my tweezers in the picture says 12V AUX right next to it. as well as 5V VCC

EDIT: Oh yea I see your right there is 2 holes.. no pins.. I think i have some pins i'll solder them in there.

I could do that would have to solder a JST connector or something so I can unplug it when i take the bottom off.

I found some pin's in my box of random stuff, soldered them on.

Soon as USPS shows up with my new fans I should be back in buisness.

Does +/- matter on this Aux 12V? or will it just spin the fan the wrong way if i plug it in wrong?

Yes red black matters. Red would be on the right of the pic with your new pins. So the way you have it plugged in looks good. Yes just double check you are blowing air in and not out when you put it together.

All of my fans just dont spin if the polarity is reversed :). YMMV

It really depends on the fan. Some DC fans will reverse and others not. I agree most of the ones on the Robos tend to be the 'not' variety :)
