Solved quick stupid question.

    When I use the home button to return the print bed and extruder to it's starting point. Both switches for up and down (y?) should be compressed correct? I am still learning the lingo... LOL

    You can home it whenever it is not printing. Not sure which buttons you are referring to -- if you have the touchpad or one of the LCDS it will likely be different on the R1

    Maybe a picture will help :)

    If you are speaking of the switches under the left and right side X Axis carriage, then yes, they should be compressed. Otherwise the printer never knows where Z0 is.
