We believe so. No official word as of yet but here's what we think:

    - Removed drawer slides, replaced with linear rails for y axis
    - Removed PTFE based hot end, replaced with all metal hot end (pico or E3D)
    - Moved X stop switch to carriage
    - Removable heated build platform
    - Added blue LED's

So if you ordered around or after Nov 30, 2013 - it should be an R1?

My printer arrived yesterday, it has R1 on the box however from what I can remember (I'm not at home currently) it does not have blue LED's, and I'm pretty sure it has drawer slides.

Is it a white box or black box?

Okay so my apologies I was thinking it was an R1 for some reason, it's a black box and labeled Robo ABS 001 so it's not an R1. Sorry about the confusion.

if you look at the robo website they are calling the current / first model the R1 as it is advertised as the current product. The R2 is the version with the upgrades but this has possibly been shelved as it did not reach its goal on the start up website they where using and there has been no word of it since

That was the "R1.2" which is essentially the R1 now.

They refunded all the money for that failed jumpstart city campaign afaik.

ah right , they should have stuck with the R1.2 name to distinguish between the two imo
