After I loaded matter controller I followed the instructions and ran the test print.
From there the print head will not go up .
IT just sits on the print table.
    Help please.

I can move it one step at a time with matter controller.
This is my first 3d printer. No doubt it is my fault. Just finished printing the test circle.

The extruder moves with the threaded rods up and down. Is it doing this ? Do you mean it wont extrude filament ? Im a bit confused. Pictures ? Video?

When you see an image of a ROBO printer that is not printing the head is up 5 or 6 inches off the work surface. When some one demonstrates how to make a repair, the head is 5 or 6 inches off the work surface. I made one print. Now the head stays all the way down. Is this normal? It was not like that when I bought it. How do I bring the head off the work surface?

Ah ok. What your describing is normal. When a print finishes it stops and goes "home" and stays at that height. Start another print, your ok :)

    Thank you for your help.
When the printing is done it would be easier to clean the work area if I could raise the extruder up enough to get a rag under it and get the excess filament off the tip of the extruded. Any ideas there?
How do I change the home set point?
Extruder home is 1.5" inside the heat area at the front and the print is 1/2" out side the heated ares in the back.

You dont change the home spot. Home is home (literally). The markings on the bed mean nothing. They are just decoration, ignore then :D. It figures home based on where it hits the endstop. Your ok :D.

As far as cleaning the work area, just manually (with the software or LCD controller if you have one) raise the print head as needed to clean the nozzle. I use a pair of tweezers. There is a gcode command you can put in the end script to lift the z but I dont recommend doing it. If you get a tall print that extra space will cause some real issues for you expecially because you'll think it wont go past max z height...but it will try :D

As mentioned the markings on the build plate are meaningless. Also just a point of clarification. Robo actually did a fair job of placing the heater under the build area (they don't use the markings to place the heater pad) but, and this is a big but, The heater only covers about 67% of the build area. Just keep that in mind if you need heat and are printing a large object that extends toward the limits of the build space.
