Man, the new version is pretty slick looking.
I had to run a test on it and figured I would upgrade.
Visually it is completely different. Took some poking around to find everything.

    Still, I like it.
Something got them motivated to make some changes :)

The newest version of Slic3r is way better too. S3D still does better supports though.

Going closed source and trying to turn it into a profitable software will do that.

I hope they made the UI less bumbly and easier for beginners.

Eh, it seems more complex to me... but YMMV

My test went down in flames (supports--they still blow)
However the second one was a test/calibration object and that looked fine.

So, good work by them boys. Still some room for improvement.
It seems a bit faster to slice as well.

In Slic3r if you turn off the avoid crossing perimeters option, l think it's that one, it slices way faster.

I probably still had that one on (I used my old profiles).
It was nice looking and sliced pretty peppy slicing. I like the choice of slicers on install now as well.
If they could sort out supports it would be really sweet.

I loaded repetier host on my PC. Does anyone have a document that shows how to setup the newer Robo r1 with repetier host. I'm reading thru their documentation, but I'm asking about specific info just for using it with the robo. Can I use all the defaults that come with repetier host. Are there any tips or tricks I show know about when trying to print with repetier host. Does anyone have a list of parameters that have used to get successfull prints.

You basically just need to set the bed size. You could use the original document from the Robo team if you/someone can find it. I'm not home so I can't pay my settings sorry.
