Does any one have any good tips/tricks for using Repetier? I am new to 3d printing and would greatly appreciate any insight into repeater.

Also a question for ROBO3D are you planning on preparing tutorials for using any program such as Repetirer? I think i have seen them say that this is the program they have been using if so would it be possible to get step by step instructions for printing with the ROBO3D using the Repetier program?

Hey guys, I can answer any questions regarding Repetier. As for tutorials, we are working on these and should have them edited by the time we send out RoBo 3D

That is not threads that is the path the nozzle will follow as it is doing the print. There is a button that will allow to either show or hide the path of the nozzle.

Question about viewing the paths while printing.
When I print I can switch to the manual tab and see the paths draw on the screen as the commands are sent to the printer.
But after the first few layers it stops drawing the paths on the screen. Is this a setting that can be changed to keep it drawing all the layers or is this an issue with the video card?

Question 2 how do you insert a pause into the gcode that can be un-paused by the interface?

    Thanks
    John

Not exactly sure where you are looking but in teh gcode window there is atab in the right half window toward teh bottoms that says visualization and you can go through the entire print either layer by layer, the entier object or by range of layers adjusting with the sliders for the range

On this same windo on teh right you can actaully see the gcode that is being sent and if you find the place you want it to pause by reading the gcode itself you can insert a @pause command which will pause the print and allow you to restart from software. That along with some other things is what I used to change colors and materials in my test prints awhile back mad a redwhite and blue cube and a PLA sandwich two layers of ABS around layer of PLA both turned out well

Thanks Tesseract that is what I was looking for.

As to the first part of my question, as you start your print out if you click on the manual control tab and have the 3d view on the left you can see the filament lines draw out on the 3d view about 2 seconds before the printer does the same action. It even shows what areas of the filament have cooled or are still warm by color coding it Red , Yellow , Green. Pretty cool.
On mine it will keep doing that for several layers but after a few layers it will no longer show it on the 3d view.
not sure if this is a bug in the software , a setting in Repetier or my video card not being fast enough.

    Thanks
    John

Ok sorry thought you were talking the gcode screen that does sound like your card not being fast enough or memory on the system itself

    Hi!

When I add some STL:s from thingiverse in object placement about every second object gets a red X in the mesh column. I've tried to search the net for the meaning of that but no luck so far. However, everytime I've tried to slice with a mesh "warning" the slicing fails.

    How does one fix this?
Are there any workarounds? Are you guys using other slicers?

    Regards, Daniel

Have you tried running the files through the Netfabb repair first? Free download, easy to use and may solve the problems...
    Good luck!

I am using it with a MAC so I do not have those columns I loaded the three ramps files and there was a hole that showed up when I sliced it but I think you can repair this by using netfabb basic which is free it does a great job of cleaning issues like that up check that out run the default repair and apply it then export the repaired file back to .stl and load that file and it will be a lot cleaner and may not have the errors you talk about

Cura is another slicer people have had good luck with getting the settings just right can be tricky but people have ahd success when slic3r failed
