top mount viki lcd with spool holder v2.jpg

view from front, made from aluminum. front plate has cutouts for the viki lcd and open source hardware logo, back plate will be the same. mounts to top of the robo printer. red circle is the filament spool.
    suggestions anyone?

so the LCD will be at the top and on one of the side of the printer. I am not sure maybe you could clarify that.

i dont know yet, til i have one completely made. I know i'll need two 12"x12" sheets of aluminum for one complete assembly. the cost of that material alone is $24 plus shipping to me. then factor roughly $10 for tooling and consumables, some machine time. around $48 maybe plus shipping to you.

CAMBO3D, I'm not sure where you are located, but I work with a very reasonable laser cutter source in PA. He may be able to get more cuts into a larger sheet with his software as well and save you money on a larger run.
Let me know if you want more info. If people were willing to pre-order, you could front the cost.

right now i dont see many people interested in it. I can't really finalize my design till i have the robo in hand for test fit. would be nice to know the dimensions of the top cover.

The Robo team posted files for the injection molded parts, including the top cover. So you should be able to get any information you need from those.
