Just bought a Robo 3D(This machine looks straight out of the future!) it starts with the extruder in contact with the bed, legit printing. After a while however, the extruder inevitably starts trying to print in the air, acting as if the print bed is floating. I've tried preheating the extruder and bed, homing the axis, but neither fixed the problem.

Look at both sides of the X axis, you will see two switches under the carriage, one on either side, if any one of them is not pressed up against the axis the printer thinks that the nozzle is on the bed and it will constantly try to lift it.

ditto. Those switches are a very common problem (not a failing switch- but getting knocked out of position)
