i am new to the robo series of printers but not new to 3d printing.
i am having an issue where my bed crashes when homing i will try to push past the y axis end-stop and im not sure why. i have don't a little digging and have found that the switch works because i replaced it with a new tested one(old one worked when tested) i tested the continuity at the end of the wire where it plugs into the board.
as far as i know i have a robo r1 with auto level with the hexagon hot end.

i picked this printer up for $50 cdn locally and am trying to make it work again

Reload the firmware. It may have something wrong (like the Y endstop reversed)

If it is the R1 and not the beta or the R1+ just pick the correct firmware.

You can test the endstops in the Gcode terminal with an
    M119

    > M119
    Reporting endstop status
    x_min: open
    y_min: open
    z_min: TRIGGERED
    z_probe: open
    filament: open

That way you know if it is getting seen correctly by the RAMPS board

I would try the M119 with the endstop open and closed to see what it is reporting.

i have tried the m119 command and it reports properly when switch is contacted. i made progress i can get it to do an auto level routine now. but initially it move away front the y-end stop then crashes and then goes about the auto level process.

i am also trying to figure out how to move the extruder away from the bed for the first layer as i can tell its too close at the moment.

what firmware are most people running, i believe the printer says roboR1autolevelv4
