    Hello folks,

Back again with a new question. I have the filament loaded but I can't seem to get my bed to heat so it won't even print a calibration circle. (First step according to my MatterControl software.) Any advice on what to check? Planning to examine the Arduino and RAMPS board once everything cools back down... Anything else I should check? Thanks! --Barry Steenbergh

Ramps board would be the likely culprit.

Removed Arduino and RAMPS. Separated them and put them back together but didn't seem to help. I get a reading of 0 degrees from the bed but the printhead starts at 16 degrees C or thereabouts. Preheating the filament works well and reaches 210 within 2 minutes I'd guess but no temp rise from the bed at all. If this still seems like a failed RAMPS board is there a place where I can order a replacement ? Thanks. --Barry

Hi is this an R1? If so Amazon ramps 1.4

R1+ will be a different story

Hi All, I actually had a few minutes today to troubleshoot further. Replaced my Ramps board with a new one and I have the exact same symptom. :( Bed temperature shows 0.0 degrees when I am in the Controls section of MatterControl and when I click preheat nothing happens. My filament shows a starting temperature of 16.9C or something like that. Shouldn't I see some starting temp other than 0.0C on the bed? Can anyone tell me what to look for next? All the jumpers and wires going into the Ramps board seemed ok to me. As always any assistance is much appreciated. --Barry Steenbergh

Double check you thermistor wires. If their correct then you must have a bad thermistor in the heatbed assembly

Yes, the bed thermistor should always read at least room temperature.

Hey Everyone, I have nothing connected to my T1 or T2 jumpers on my ramps board (and I dont see anything that would connect). From googling it sounds like there should be something on T0 (filament thermistor) and T1 (bed thermistor). Also, I dont see anything that would heat my print bed. Shouldnt there be some visible heating element on the bottom of the movable print bed? Maybe my printer isnt an R1? (Bought it used but was told that was the version..) Should there be some logo on the print bed? Mine is all black...? --Barry

Take some detailed pictures of the rods, the bed, the insides, and the extruder and I bet the guys can tell you exactly what you have.

Something sent right there. You should have connectors from your bed heater and thermistor going to your ramps board....I don't see them. Can you please trace your wiring from the bed

Judging from your spool holder and no bottom cover you have a beta. @mark tomlinson ?

Yes, that is a beta. Worse -- it is a beta without a heated bed I suspect.
You could buy it that way.

Adding a heated bed is not impossible, but a bit of work.

I have two that started off as betas, one still rather mostly is, the other is essentially an R1+ at this point.

You can upgrade it as much as you are willing to put the effort in :)

    Hi Geof,

Hmmm... Did the beta not have a heated bed? I don't see any wires coming to/from the bed itself... The underbed is pretty reflective, but no wires (Robo3D mirrored on the bed). The only wires going to it that I see are going to the motors that move the bed (and that is working ok using MatterControl). Thanks!

That's a bummer that they sold with no heatbed :(

I think @mark tomlinson has it answered. I came along way after then. Apparently you have a non heatbed beta
