May 7, 2017 2:29 PM - mclemens7: yes im pumping out 12 volt per red and black wire
May 7, 2017 2:29 PM - mclemens7: so could it be that the board only takes 12 volts
May 7, 2017 2:29 PM - mclemens7: because i ordered another one and it said it was 24 volt
May 7, 2017 5:25 PM - Geof: The electronics in the R1 series
    May 7, 2017 5:25 PM - Geof: Is all 12v
May 7, 2017 5:28 PM - mclemens7: ok so for each pair of red and black wires it is pushing 12 volts and there are two of them, so it is a 12 v powersupplu
May 7, 2017 5:32 PM - Geof: Yes. All the electronics in the R1 series are 12V
    May 7, 2017 6:13 PM - mclemens7: ok
    May 7, 2017 6:13 PM - mclemens7: and all ramps boards
    May 7, 2017 6:13 PM - mclemens7: regular 1.4 ramps boards r 12 volt too
May 7, 2017 7:27 PM - Geof: I do not know for certain. All I've seen are

    May 15, 2017 5:40 AM - danzca6: I love how someone wants $300 for a Robo Kickstarter version...maybe half that since I can get a refurb R1 for $400 https://madison.craigslist.org/ele/6131206414.html
May 15, 2017 6:22 AM - WheresWaldo: Danzca Posted the new 1.1.1 Marlin release this morning. Plus, I have completely given up on UBL.
May 15, 2017 6:35 AM - danzca6: I saw the update. I will try to get that loaded this week and see how it goes.
May 15, 2017 6:38 AM - WheresWaldo: This Marlin release has been a real cluster *#c%. Don't really know why they insisted on loading so much more untested code after RC8 and when questioned, basically said we can do what we want.
    May 15, 2017 6:40 AM - danzca6: that is not a good sign really...software development shouldn't work that way
May 15, 2017 6:57 AM - WheresWaldo: Now a few are pushing UBL as a complete replacement for all leveling systems, I hope they really think this through given the state of disarray that UBL is currently in.
    May 15, 2017 9:15 AM - JeffTheMess: afternoon roboneers
May 15, 2017 10:06 AM - daniel871: Are there any videos showing how UBL is supposed to be used? Is it simply an automated Mesh Bed Leveling sequence or something else?
May 15, 2017 10:35 AM - WheresWaldo: Dan, nothing as far as I know, it builds on MESH and adds a method of automatically generating the mesh as well as the ability to have multiple meshes in EEPROM. Problem is, it doesn't work.
    May 15, 2017 11:58 AM - JasonSolves: hello call

    May 16, 2017 7:08 AM - Geof: Good Morning
May 16, 2017 10:25 AM - JoshYourITGuy: Danzca, that CL post for the KS robo, I wonder how much damage is hiding under that blue tape too!
May 16, 2017 12:38 PM - Geof: I'd be more worried about how much money in updating to a R1 or R1+ you'd spend at that price :D
May 16, 2017 8:12 PM - daniel871: Maker Select Mini Delta goes up for sale at 7 AM.

May 17, 2017 at 4:34 AM - daniel871: Welp. Whoever put out the rumor about 7AM didn't specify a time zone, apparently.
    May 17, 2017 at 5:33 AM - Geof: http://hackaday.com/2017/05/17/monoprice-releases-their-mini-delta-printer-on-indiegogo/
May 17, 2017 at 5:34 AM - Geof: their doing an indiegogo apparently. everyone hated on established companies doing these things so is funny to sit back and watch monoprice go this route :D
May 17, 2017 at 5:46 AM - daniel871: It may not happen after all, the page that was on Indiegogo for it is gone.
May 17, 2017 at 5:47 AM - daniel871: Someone at Monoprice may have seen that criticism on Twitter/Reddit and decided to change the plan at the last minute.
May 17, 2017 at 5:59 AM - Geof: Will be interesting to see what they do. 159.00 is dirt cheap
May 17, 2017 at 6:03 AM - WheresWaldo: It's still a delta, fun to watch a bear to fine tune, It's too bad Wanhao is still having issues with the D7, that alone has probably delayed the relabeled Monoprice LCD/Resin printer.
May 17, 2017 at 6:09 AM - daniel871: It would be pretty neat as an office desk replacement for a Newton's Cradle.
    May 17, 2017 at 6:09 AM - daniel871: Wifi, 24v electronics, etc.
May 17, 2017 at 6:09 AM - daniel871: At least in the office where I work, where all of the machinery/"decor" has a dark steel look to it.
May 17, 2017 at 6:10 AM - Geof: I'd bet so Waldo. I'll buy one for kiddos to play with and watch when they come to the shop
May 17, 2017 at 6:10 AM - Geof: but wont be a production machine lol
May 17, 2017 at 6:11 AM - daniel871: I think the build area might be big enough for the MPCNC components. That would be a pretty fun build log for someone to run. "I used my $160 3d delta printer to build a CNC machine with (insert build space here)".
May 17, 2017 at 6:16 AM - WheresWaldo: At one time I wanted a Delta, but when I figured out that the only reason I wanted one was to look at while it prints, I quickly put it out of mind.
May 17, 2017 at 6:17 AM - WheresWaldo: Plus I have my hands full trying to figure out the fustercluck that is Marlin 1.1x for the Robo.
May 17, 2017 at 6:21 AM - Geof: lol hands full is an understatement my friend.
May 17, 2017 at 6:21 AM - Geof: I've got one...its cheap chinese and junky....then I have a mass portal coming to test and review (I dont think I get to keep this one) but will be sure to post about it here for those that are looking for deltas
May 17, 2017 at 6:25 AM - daniel871: Mass Portal? The "Pharaoh" delta manufacturers?
May 17, 2017 at 6:25 AM - daniel871: Don't think I've ever seen a review for them with the usual lineup of Youtube reviewers.
    May 17, 2017 at 6:28 AM - Geof: Yep.
May 17, 2017 at 6:29 AM - Geof: No me either.
May 17, 2017 at 6:30 AM - Geof: high hopes for the performance of one seein as how they are crazy expensive lol
May 17, 2017 at 6:36 AM - daniel871: Gonna be hilarious if they're hot garbage.
May 17, 2017 at 6:46 AM - Geof: lol yes indeed. I would laugh, but I've seen them in person and they do seem to have very nice print quality. On par with my type A which is fantastic
May 17, 2017 at 6:48 AM - Geof: keep in mind I dont run 10 hours here 5 hours there lol. The machine will go through some pretty rough printing times before I'm convinced I'd want it lol.
May 17, 2017 at 8:24 AM - daniel871: Okay, well, the Indiegogo page is live. Looks like it might have just been a convenient way to set up pre-order pages for limited quantities given how their main website seems to work. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mp-mini-delta-affordable-starter-3d-printer#/
May 17, 2017 at 8:26 AM - daniel871: That package that includes Simplify3D is probably going to go fast.
May 17, 2017 at 8:34 AM - WheresWaldo: I like the handle on top, kind of reminds me of building portable PCs for LAN Parties. Who travels with their printers; really?
May 17, 2017 at 8:40 AM - daniel871: The guys that go to the various Maker conventions.
May 17, 2017 at 8:40 AM - daniel871: Other than that, no idea.
May 17, 2017 at 8:41 AM - daniel871: I pulled the trigger on the theoretical batch for October to be delivered to my job, so that hopefully any growing pains in the 1st batch are handled.
May 17, 2017 at 8:41 AM - daniel871: Toy 3d printer to play with at work, yay.
    May 17, 2017 at 9:30 AM - danzca6: delta delta delta
    May 17, 2017 at 9:30 AM - danzca6: hahaha....
May 17, 2017 at 9:31 AM - danzca6: daniel you are right, that S3D package is a hell of deal for anyone who doesn't already have a license
May 17, 2017 at 9:32 AM - danzca6: WW, an online buddy of mine just got the D7 delivered yesterday. Yet to hear how his out of box experiance is. He is heading to MFBA, so may not hear until next week.
May 17, 2017 at 10:09 AM - WheresWaldo: Dan, I just bought a KLD-LCD1260 which so far as I have seen is better built than the D7. Planing to mount a rPi3 running nanoDLP. Should be here by the end of next week.
May 17, 2017 at 10:12 AM - danzca6: nice! be interesting to see how well it works.

May 21, 2017 6:49 PM - dorourke7280: My printer bed will only move in the minus direction. (X and Z work correctly). I can manually move it in either direction on the Y-axis, but when I try to jog it, whether I hit Y+ or Y- the bed moves in the Y- direction. And, when attempting to print, the bed will try to move in the Y- direction, but since it is already home, it just grinds repeatedly, moving nowhere, except X and Z. Any suggestions?

May 30, 2017 6:37 AM - Geof: hangin in there. printing some Polycarbonate Carbon fiber today
May 30, 2017 6:37 AM - Geof: (possible replacement for some PEEK mold parts)
May 30, 2017 6:38 AM - daniel871: Experimented over the weekend with that Lokbuild build surface to see if an unopened spool of Taulman Bridge I had in my cabinet would stick to it during prints. No dice.
May 30, 2017 6:39 AM - daniel871: Even put some glue stick on it, but the glue from the glue stick wouldn't adhere to the Lokbuild sheet either (filament and glue peeled right off during 1st layer printing).

May 30, 2017 6:39 AM - JeffTheMess: on the robo?

May 30, 2017 6:41 AM - daniel871: The build plate that I had replaced the heater element on is currently a stationary build plate in an MP3DP build.
May 30, 2017 6:41 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah water jet seems cool
May 30, 2017 6:41 AM - daniel871: Fully braced around the edges and leveled similar to how Thomas Sanladerer locked the build plate down on his Dolly build.
    May 30, 2017 6:41 AM - JeffTheMess: ah ok
May 30, 2017 6:42 AM - daniel871: The steppers turned out to be dead from the PSU failure the CES Robo had, but the third party steppers I had put on my original Robo before the acrylic came apart went into the MP build.
May 30, 2017 6:43 AM - danzca6: yeah I have enough spare parts around here to make that another printer...maybe 2
May 30, 2017 6:44 AM - daniel871: The MP3DP is okay but I'm thinking I should have went with a modified HyperCube build.
May 30, 2017 6:44 AM - JeffTheMess: nice hows the delta dan
May 30, 2017 6:44 AM - danzca6: oh yeah, did you get the KS delta yet Daniel?
May 30, 2017 6:44 AM - daniel871: Sitting in a corner because I literally have nowhere to put it together right now.
May 30, 2017 6:45 AM - JeffTheMess: I need to buy spare parts for my robo, its like taking care of an old old fart
    May 30, 2017 6:45 AM - daniel871: Yeah, they shipped.
    May 30, 2017 6:45 AM - JeffTheMess: shameful
May 30, 2017 6:45 AM - danzca6: that has to be horrible to have a printer just sitting there in the box
    May 30, 2017 6:46 AM - JeffTheMess: sinful really
May 30, 2017 6:46 AM - daniel871: Yeah, lack of planning on floor space layouts when building other things before that machine came in.
    May 30, 2017 6:47 AM - danzca6: 1st world problems
May 30, 2017 6:47 AM - daniel871: Also, that box with the frame parts is heavier than it looks and I'm semi-regretting backing the 440mm build height version.
    May 30, 2017 6:47 AM - daniel871: lol
May 30, 2017 6:48 AM - JeffTheMess: lulz never that
    May 30, 2017 6:59 AM - Geof: Hi danz
May 30, 2017 6:59 AM - Geof: good to see you.
May 30, 2017 6:59 AM - Geof: Jeff, we use a waterjet in the machine shop all day long. Pretty cool machine but man what a freaking mess lol
May 30, 2017 6:59 AM - daniel871: I kind of wish I could con some floor space out of where I work to set it up and just run stuff there. The shop is always a warm 80+F and the air is super-dry so it would probably be an idea build space.
    May 30, 2017 7:03 AM - Geof: Stack em :D
May 30, 2017 7:03 AM - Geof: I had 14 in a tiny room with a closet before I moved to the shop
May 30, 2017 7:03 AM - Geof: (the others were in the basement, horrible condition but still printed well()(
May 30, 2017 7:09 AM - daniel871: I'm looking for some old server cabinets so I can do exactly that with the smaller machines.
May 30, 2017 7:12 AM - daniel871: What's aggravating there is you find listings for them with pictures showing them assembled, then you read the print in the listing and it says things like "does not include shelves, side panels or doors".
May 30, 2017 8:13 AM - JeffTheMess: ha why bother
    May 30, 2017 9:21 AM - daniel871: Exactly.

May 31, 2017 6:35 AM - Schlomo: Does anyone have a filament width sensor on their Robo r1+?
May 31, 2017 6:36 AM - danzca6: no, but I've wanted to play around with adding one. I talked myself out of it because the filament I have is pretty consistant.
May 31, 2017 6:37 AM - danzca6: Is there one you are looking at?
May 31, 2017 6:38 AM - Schlomo: I bought one, but noticed the one I got suggests using A5 (Marlin also) which i know my R1+ does not have due to fans
May 31, 2017 6:38 AM - Schlomo: guess i'll have to populate A3 and use that instead
    May 31, 2017 6:39 AM - Schlomo: http://objectswithintelligence.weebly.com/store.html
May 31, 2017 6:39 AM - Schlomo: thats the one I got. It'll be here Friday.
May 31, 2017 6:39 AM - Schlomo: been printing with some TPE that has been wildly out of diameter, smallest I measured was 1.37mm
May 31, 2017 6:39 AM - Schlomo: want to see if this can fix my issues.
May 31, 2017 6:42 AM - Geof: sounds like it'd be easier to buy better TPU ;)
May 31, 2017 6:43 AM - Schlomo: That may be true, but most of them are not what i'm looking for specifically.
    May 31, 2017 6:43 AM - daniel871: "We have over 100 happy customers" LOL
May 31, 2017 6:43 AM - Schlomo: the ESUN TPE that i've been using is a blend of some sort
May 31, 2017 6:44 AM - Schlomo: Hey gotta start somewhere lol
May 31, 2017 6:45 AM - danzca6: that's the sensor I looked at also...the $60 was a bit more than I wanted to spend for something just to play with
May 31, 2017 6:45 AM - Schlomo: plus the customer service i've gotten so far has been great. Refunded me for both spools that were that bad. both spools were from the same batch, so hopefully that was their issue.
May 31, 2017 6:45 AM - danzca6: The R1+ board probably still can handle it...you may have to solder in some headers
May 31, 2017 6:47 AM - Schlomo: Yeah, i'm sure i can find a free analog pin somewhere
May 31, 2017 6:49 AM - danzca6: The servo header that is just in front of the power plug should do
    May 31, 2017 6:49 AM - danzca6: curious how it works out
May 31, 2017 6:50 AM - danzca6: does sound like a bit of a hoop to jump through for bad filament though
May 31, 2017 6:51 AM - Schlomo: True, but i'm running production parts for a model I made and need to get about 80 parts off my printer.
May 31, 2017 6:51 AM - Schlomo: i've spent more money testing filaments to find the right stuff, and this esun is perfect material wise
May 31, 2017 6:52 AM - Schlomo: hopefully their next batches are better.. but this filament sensor is a small drop in the bucket I can write off with the produced and sold parts
May 31, 2017 6:53 AM - Schlomo: as long as the sensor works lol
May 31, 2017 6:59 AM - danzca6: true...I wish I had my printer making me money so I could play with new toys like that :)
May 31, 2017 6:59 AM - Schlomo: Trust me, my wife is happier than I am.
    May 31, 2017 6:59 AM - danzca6: well that's all good...wife being happy is key
May 31, 2017 7:00 AM - Schlomo: only thing i need to figure out now is how to get my Hypercube to print with this TPE.
May 31, 2017 7:00 AM - Schlomo: i've got a Bondtech BMG on it but it still grinds through this plastic. Funny though because it can print Ninjaflex with some luck.
May 31, 2017 7:00 AM - Schlomo: Robo with a direct drive Bondtech QR works like a dream though.
May 31, 2017 7:01 AM - danzca6: that is odd about the BMG
May 31, 2017 7:02 AM - Schlomo: Yeah, its a relatively short bowden also, so its confusing me. might just be this filament.
May 31, 2017 7:02 AM - danzca6: if it's that far out of spec, maybe
May 31, 2017 7:03 AM - danzca6: if you get that sensor working let us know. could be an upgrade another R1 user will like to try out
    May 31, 2017 7:03 AM - Schlomo: For sure.
May 31, 2017 7:06 AM - Geof: schlomo I'm sure you've already checked but is the out of spec filament binding up in the bowden? Ninja seems to be on the small side of 1.75, I've ran TPU on the large side on my bowdens and it causes some grief with drag, but ninja is fine.
May 31, 2017 7:08 AM - Schlomo: Hi Geof, Yeah I had thought of that and checked already. Seems that the eSUN tpu is just very weak overall and the bondtech just chews right through it
May 31, 2017 7:18 AM - Schlomo: I have another TPU of 95A shore hardness that prints like a dream also. The TPE from ESUN is 85A, but prints like a 70A.
May 31, 2017 7:19 AM - Schlomo: I know one big difference with Ninjaflex is they have a textured filament, while this stuff is completely smooth
May 31, 2017 7:33 AM - Geof: I run Foxsmart TPU the majority of the time, might be worth a look. Its not as soft as what you might need, but may do the trick ;) \
May 31, 2017 7:33 AM - Geof: and its dirt cheap
    May 31, 2017 7:34 AM - Schlomo: My application is a bumper.
May 31, 2017 7:34 AM - Schlomo: need something with good elasticity
May 31, 2017 7:38 AM - Geof: looked into recreus filaflex?
    May 31, 2017 7:44 AM - daniel871: https://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-rubber-bumpers/=17v6il7
May 31, 2017 7:48 AM - Schlomo: Not that kind of bumper lol
May 31, 2017 7:48 AM - Geof: I use the filaflex to make pinball bumpers :D lol gotta be close to what your needin?
May 31, 2017 7:48 AM - Schlomo: its a custom made protective sleeve for a piece of photography gear
May 31, 2017 7:49 AM - Schlomo: Yeah but thats expensive as shit lol
May 31, 2017 7:49 AM - Geof: lol so is the photography gear eh? ;) lol
May 31, 2017 7:52 AM - daniel871: What is it supposed to protect? Because any photography gear that isn't already designed to resist impacts/shocks/etc. is going to get zero benefit by being covered with a sleeve (because the internal components will still jostle/get damaged even if the outer skin is protected).
May 31, 2017 8:02 AM - Schlomo: Thats been taken into consideration already
May 31, 2017 9:01 AM - daniel871: Wanna see more people attempting the object in the GIF in this twitter post as a printer test. https://twitter.com/RonaldXJT/status/869664549103915009
May 31, 2017 10:21 AM - danzca6: yeah daniel I saw that this morning...really a neat print and it would be a good test for a printer
    May 31, 2017 11:02 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: So...if I do this: {REPLACE "\n; layer 191, Z = " "; layer 191\nM600\n; layer 191 "}
May 31, 2017 11:02 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: does that allow me to change the filament for layer 191 or after layer 191?
May 31, 2017 11:06 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: nevermind I'll just look through the code
May 31, 2017 11:14 AM - daniel871: It looks like that will cause it to skip over the Z positioning, might want to omit the Z value portion.
May 31, 2017 11:15 AM - daniel871: Assuming it actually puts the Z value on the same line as the comment.
May 31, 2017 11:20 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: okay ill did a little deeper into it. that was directly from @danzca6 post on a thread
May 31, 2017 11:31 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: this is what I'm building lol! A little design I threw together for a buddy. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2356821
May 31, 2017 11:42 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: okay I grabbed the code @WheresWaldo posted in the same thread and that seems to be working correctly
    May 31, 2017 11:43 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: {REPLACE "; layer 54," "M600\n; layer 54,"}
    May 31, 2017 12:52 PM - kevin wilson: hi

May 31, 2017 10:59 PM - pclabtech: I will be selling my R1 but getting used to my R2 still. I am hoping for a local buyer so I don't incur huge shipping bill.
May 31, 2017 10:59 PM - pclabtech: no promises though...
Jun 1, 2017 5:47 AM - Geof: hey pclabtech. the last robo that got shipped to me was just short of 90 bucks (not including packaging) Just make sure if you go that route that you wrap the bed up well and insure it. (obviously at the buyers expense)
Jun 1, 2017 6:00 AM - mclemens7: @pclabtech, I will buy the r1 from you and if the shipping isnt crazy ill pay for the shipping
    Jun 1, 2017 6:53 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: 3 refurbs in stock https://store.robo3d.com/collection...oducts/r1-the-original-3d-printer-refurbished
Jun 1, 2017 6:54 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: anyone selling is going to try and get more
Jun 1, 2017 7:47 PM - daniel871: I love it when newbies post about how Robo never promised a feature on a printer model. As if I wasn't around bitching about design decisions as we foubd out about them.
