Apr 19, 2015 2:15 PM - Bill Monroe: i dont think it's possible to collect too much neato wstiff
    Apr 19, 2015 2:15 PM - Bill Monroe: stuff
Apr 19, 2015 2:15 PM - jbigler1986: How was the show yesterday Matt
Apr 19, 2015 2:15 PM - Mike Glass: is 2.0 sitting on your lap bill :)
    Apr 19, 2015 2:16 PM - Bill Monroe: I've got a mountain of NEMA 43 steppers.. I swear I'm gunna do a huge 3d printer :)

Apr 19, 2015 2:17 PM - Bill Monroe: i've got the cool italian drivers for these motors too.. with encoder feedback :)
Apr 19, 2015 2:18 PM - Bill Monroe: i was thinking about making one that'll to concrete inserts for patios and walkways
Apr 19, 2015 2:19 PM - Printed Solid: Show as good. Kind of quiet
Apr 19, 2015 2:20 PM - Printed Solid: was good.
Apr 19, 2015 2:20 PM - Printed Solid: My friend took a few pics. http://stem-el-ed.blogspot.com/2015/04/3d-printshow-2015-nyc.html
Apr 19, 2015 2:21 PM - Printed Solid: nothing earth shattering. For me it was good because I got to meet with a lot of people.
Apr 19, 2015 2:21 PM - Printed Solid: Going to be doing more work with schools so a lot of that was solidified.
    Apr 19, 2015 2:21 PM - jbigler1986: That's a huge plus
Apr 19, 2015 2:21 PM - Printed Solid: also bringing on some new suppliers and got to meet with them. Mostly printers, but buildtak might be added as well.
Apr 19, 2015 2:22 PM - jbigler1986: Finally got cura back up and going. Had to uninstall and scour my HD for leftovers as settings were being saved
Apr 19, 2015 2:22 PM - Printed Solid: I think that whoever decided NYC could handle '3D Printing week' with competing shows was a moron.
Apr 19, 2015 2:23 PM - Printed Solid: weird. did you go to a new version?
    Apr 19, 2015 2:23 PM - jbigler1986: Lol. Lots of those
Apr 19, 2015 2:23 PM - Printed Solid: so just all the scrap from the old versions?
Apr 19, 2015 2:25 PM - jbigler1986: Even on the older one. Would set speed to 35 and it was at least going 50. Probably faster. Among other things
Apr 19, 2015 2:25 PM - Printed Solid: I wonder if Cura sometimes overrides acceleration on the Robo?
Apr 19, 2015 2:25 PM - Printed Solid: That's what makes it seem so fast.
Apr 19, 2015 2:26 PM - Printed Solid: default on ultimaker is 20 jerk and 4000 acceleration. I almost always turn it down.
    Apr 19, 2015 2:30 PM - jbigler1986: It was driving me crazy
    Apr 19, 2015 2:33 PM - tesseract: Hey Peoples
Apr 19, 2015 2:36 PM - Bill Monroe: omg when 2.0 gets the ones on the bottom a get distracted
Apr 19, 2015 2:36 PM - Printed Solid: Hey Tesseract! you're a stranger here now. Good to see you.
    Apr 19, 2015 3:01 PM - jbigler1986: Back
Apr 19, 2015 3:01 PM - jbigler1986: I think I'm going to redo my part. I don't like the way I did the stackable post
Apr 19, 2015 3:04 PM - jbigler1986: Matt has your store gotten a lot more traffic over the past year?
    Apr 19, 2015 3:12 PM - Printed Solid: yeah.
Apr 19, 2015 3:12 PM - Printed Solid: we had to move servers twice
Apr 19, 2015 3:14 PM - jbigler1986: That's awesome for you. Have you considered doing it full time or not to that point yet?
    Apr 19, 2015 3:14 PM - Printed Solid: close.
Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - Printed Solid: When my daughter got sick last month, that kind of made me reassess timing.
Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - jbigler1986: That's good. At least you wouldn't be starting from scratch either
    Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - tesseract: I am strange but not a stranger
Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - Printed Solid: good point
    Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - jbigler1986: Well said
Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - tesseract: dont agree so fast
Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - Printed Solid: I think we've had at least 3 shoutbox regular turnovers since you were last around though.
Apr 19, 2015 3:15 PM - Printed Solid: almost never see soupa anymore.
Apr 19, 2015 3:16 PM - tesseract: yeah he contacted me a few weeks back on Skype about some kind of idea he was thinking about
Apr 19, 2015 3:16 PM - Printed Solid: One thing that surprised me a bit from that show is that the industry seems to be entering a cut throat phase.
Apr 19, 2015 3:16 PM - tesseract: said he was workign with Mike on it
Apr 19, 2015 3:17 PM - Printed Solid: I think he mentioned something to me as well. believe he said he is education ambassador for UltimakerUK or something like that which sounds great
Apr 19, 2015 3:17 PM - tesseract: Beleive it or not I do have something that was strange to me and was wondering if others had seen it as well
Apr 19, 2015 3:18 PM - jbigler1986: If they can get more machines that are plug and play with a good price point I think it would really take off. Easier said than done though
Apr 19, 2015 3:18 PM - tesseract: yeah that was what he wanted to do but he had an idea about some gadget or something as well
Apr 19, 2015 3:19 PM - tesseract: so I was trying to print my good ole namesake the tesseract and all seemed to be going well
Apr 19, 2015 3:19 PM - Printed Solid: yeah, what we ACTUALLY see is more companies claiming to be plug and play at low prices, then never shipping or shipping crap.
    Apr 19, 2015 3:20 PM - Printed Solid: yes?
Apr 19, 2015 3:20 PM - jbigler1986: Tons of kickstarters that have failed or are taking forever
Apr 19, 2015 3:21 PM - tesseract: I used Cura to load the model and gen the Gcode and it all seemed to go well and then when I loaded it into Repetier the image shown for the GCODE was not good it seemed to have several points where several lines instead of following what would have been a normal path
Apr 19, 2015 3:21 PM - tesseract: all seemed to join together somewhere of the part and in mid air
Apr 19, 2015 3:22 PM - tesseract: the Gcode sample had about 5 groups of lines that did this
Apr 19, 2015 3:22 PM - tesseract: anyone else see anything like this
Apr 19, 2015 3:22 PM - jbigler1986: I had crazy shit going on with cura myself lately. Had to completely remove it (uninstall leaves traces)
Apr 19, 2015 3:22 PM - jbigler1986: Then reinstall and all is good now
Apr 19, 2015 3:23 PM - tesseract: not sure if it was Cura or not I used it for aprevious print and it worked fine
Apr 19, 2015 3:23 PM - jbigler1986: You have printed the same part fine before?
Apr 19, 2015 3:23 PM - tesseract: but I can say it was the modle either since I have printed that one before
Apr 19, 2015 3:24 PM - tesseract: yeah it was one of my best prints it took about 35-37 hours
Apr 19, 2015 3:24 PM - tesseract: it is very cool
Apr 19, 2015 3:25 PM - tesseract: the other thing was that on all the corners where the axis join up it should be rounded but on several of them it was like the rounded aspect was non existant
Apr 19, 2015 3:26 PM - tesseract: the print actually had holes there
Apr 19, 2015 3:28 PM - tesseract: oh well gonna go and try and figure that one out
Apr 19, 2015 3:29 PM - tesseract: have fun guys
Apr 19, 2015 3:29 PM - Printed Solid: are they print lines or movement lines?
    Apr 19, 2015 3:41 PM - WayUpNorthMN: Hows it going? :)
Apr 19, 2015 3:42 PM - WayUpNorthMN: What time of the day do you begin shipping products?
Apr 19, 2015 3:42 PM - Printed Solid: hello. did you get your e3d lite? there was a post about it on reddit. wondered if it was you.
    Apr 19, 2015 3:42 PM - WayUpNorthMN: I'm just curious.
    Apr 19, 2015 3:42 PM - WayUpNorthMN: And yes it was :)
    Apr 19, 2015 3:42 PM - WayUpNorthMN: I settled on the E3D V6 from you.
Apr 19, 2015 3:42 PM - Printed Solid: we do all our shipments in one batch at night. Typically they 'ship' around 10pm.
Apr 19, 2015 3:43 PM - Printed Solid: then get picked up around 3 the next day except when our carrier decides to skip us
Apr 19, 2015 3:44 PM - WayUpNorthMN: Who do you go through? (dont say DHL)
Apr 19, 2015 3:45 PM - Printed Solid: mostly USPS. they are the ones that skip on occasion. FEDEX for larger packages.
Apr 19, 2015 3:45 PM - Printed Solid: I've looked into UPS a few times, but that has never worked out.
Apr 19, 2015 3:46 PM - Printed Solid: I didn't know DHL even accepts within USA shipments anymore.
Apr 19, 2015 3:46 PM - WayUpNorthMN: Okay, I was gonna say, DHL practically tips their truck to the side, dumps the packages out, and flies off.
Apr 19, 2015 3:46 PM - jbigler1986: UPS is good for large packages only
Apr 19, 2015 3:47 PM - jbigler1986: USPS is the best for small

    Apr 19, 2015 3:47 PM - WayUpNorthMN: ^
Apr 19, 2015 3:47 PM - jbigler1986: Deal with the 3 big ones everyday. FedEx destroys packages like no other
    Apr 19, 2015 3:48 PM - WayUpNorthMN: Alright, so I will have my E3D around...Wednesday?
Apr 19, 2015 3:48 PM - Printed Solid: I've got commercial rates with USPS so they are almost always best for anything under a 9" cube unless it is going to a business address.
    Apr 19, 2015 3:48 PM - jbigler1986: yes 9" cube is considered small
Apr 19, 2015 3:48 PM - WayUpNorthMN: FedEx be like, "This 3D printer would make the perfect soccer ball"
Apr 19, 2015 3:49 PM - Printed Solid: yeah. we've had some interesting fedex things happen.
Apr 19, 2015 3:49 PM - Printed Solid: I'm guessing wednedsay. I'll put yours in a priority package and drop it off instead of waiting for pickup.
Apr 19, 2015 3:49 PM - jbigler1986: they really do destroy stuff. we quit using them for stuff. they are expensive as hell and try and do charge backs like crazy
Apr 19, 2015 3:50 PM - WayUpNorthMN: OH! I should ask before you ship: would you happen to have extra JST connectors that could be included? I would pay the extra amount through paypal, if possible.
Apr 19, 2015 3:51 PM - jbigler1986: just splice into the current connections. cut of the wires before they get to the connectors then solder to that point
Apr 19, 2015 3:51 PM - Printed Solid: we don't stock JST connectors. I might have some burned out parts I could clip the connectors off of though if you think that would help
Apr 19, 2015 3:52 PM - Printed Solid: like he said
    Apr 19, 2015 3:52 PM - jbigler1986: that's what I did and I have had 0 issues
    Apr 19, 2015 3:52 PM - jbigler1986: plus I like to solder
Apr 19, 2015 3:53 PM - jbigler1986: Matt have you looked into getting any linear steppers?
Apr 19, 2015 3:57 PM - Printed Solid: not really.
Apr 19, 2015 3:58 PM - Printed Solid: I've generally stayed away from things like that that are really easy to get from other sources.
Apr 19, 2015 3:59 PM - jbigler1986: true. plus you might not be able to get the prices low enough
Apr 19, 2015 3:59 PM - Printed Solid: Granted most of what I sell now has several US distros, but they didn't when I started.
    Apr 19, 2015 3:59 PM - jbigler1986: since you wouldn't be ordering huge quanties
    Apr 19, 2015 3:59 PM - Printed Solid: right.
Apr 19, 2015 3:59 PM - Printed Solid: Everything I buy now I buy at pretty big quantities.
Apr 19, 2015 4:00 PM - Printed Solid: at least big for the 3d printing world :)
Apr 19, 2015 4:00 PM - jbigler1986: you want me to send the parts back after pictures right?
    Apr 19, 2015 4:00 PM - jbigler1986: lol. that's all that matters here
    Apr 19, 2015 4:02 PM - Printed Solid: ya.
    Apr 19, 2015 4:02 PM - Printed Solid: I'll send you a return label when you're done.
    Apr 19, 2015 4:02 PM - jbigler1986: perfect
Apr 19, 2015 4:03 PM - Printed Solid: alright. I'm off to try that deer head. 16 hour retraction laden part on the robo. wish me luck!
Apr 19, 2015 4:03 PM - jbigler1986: good luck. i had that on the pi tower
Apr 19, 2015 4:05 PM - Printed Solid: did that come out?
    Apr 19, 2015 4:06 PM - jbigler1986: let me grab a pic really quick
    Apr 19, 2015 4:08 PM - jbigler1986: http://imgur.com/p5191gq
    Apr 19, 2015 4:10 PM - Printed Solid: whoah! I'd call that a win.
    Apr 19, 2015 4:11 PM - jbigler1986: yes. minus the stringing
Apr 19, 2015 4:15 PM - Bill Monroe: did you find a way to remove the strings?
    Apr 19, 2015 4:16 PM - jbigler1986: lighter worked great
    Apr 19, 2015 4:16 PM - Bill Monroe: ouch
Apr 19, 2015 4:16 PM - jbigler1986: it lasted a whole 2 days until my son decided to get a hold of it and break it
Apr 19, 2015 4:17 PM - Bill Monroe: i put some prints in a gunbrass tumbler with walnut shells.. that worked pretty well
    Apr 19, 2015 4:17 PM - jbigler1986: yeah it was a delicate part though
Apr 19, 2015 4:23 PM - Bill Monroe: i was hoping to get my work done on my dual head but my homework is kicking my ass
    Apr 19, 2015 4:23 PM - jbigler1986: wanna help me do a puzzle cut in a minute
Apr 19, 2015 4:24 PM - jbigler1986: well nevermind. the part will be in stl format
    Apr 19, 2015 4:24 PM - Bill Monroe: k
Apr 19, 2015 4:24 PM - jbigler1986: or it can be in .obj
Apr 19, 2015 4:25 PM - jbigler1986: are both of those a pain in solidworks
Apr 19, 2015 4:30 PM - Bill Monroe: they're not a pain, just cant modify them
Apr 19, 2015 4:30 PM - Bill Monroe: if they're not too complex, you can duplicate them though
    Apr 19, 2015 4:30 PM - jbigler1986: ???
    Apr 19, 2015 4:31 PM - jbigler1986: they are just boxes basically
Apr 19, 2015 4:31 PM - Bill Monroe: got dropbox?
    Apr 19, 2015 4:32 PM - jbigler1986: yes
Apr 19, 2015 4:32 PM - Bill Monroe: lemme see it
    Apr 19, 2015 4:33 PM - jbigler1986: almost finished
    Apr 19, 2015 4:33 PM - jbigler1986: like 5 minutes
    Apr 19, 2015 4:35 PM - Bill Monroe: k
Apr 19, 2015 5:00 PM - Bill Monroe: your 5 minutes is the same 5 that my wife tells me when I ask her if she's ready to go...
    Apr 19, 2015 5:00 PM - jbigler1986: lmao
    Apr 19, 2015 5:00 PM - jbigler1986: kids
Apr 19, 2015 5:01 PM - Bill Monroe: you're going to be out of the time I have available
Apr 19, 2015 5:07 PM - jbigler1986: do you want it in obj or stl
    Apr 19, 2015 5:10 PM - jbigler1986: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6uds7502454v6bm/ratchet.stl?dl=0

Apr 19, 2015 6:10 PM - Printed Solid: if you have an ipad, there is an app called morphi that allows you to import an stl and then make boolean mods to it with basic shapes.
Apr 19, 2015 6:10 PM - Printed Solid: oh, not sure how it handles messed up files though
Apr 19, 2015 6:12 PM - Bill Monroe: eh.. I'm solidworks certified and old. I'm gunna keep the faith and refuse to use anything else :)
Apr 19, 2015 6:12 PM - Printed Solid: never met an old engineer like that ;)
    Apr 19, 2015 6:12 PM - Bill Monroe: BAHAhahaha
Apr 19, 2015 6:13 PM - Bill Monroe: honestly, if it didnt do everything i'll ever need it to do, I'd look at something else
Apr 19, 2015 6:13 PM - Printed Solid: I was more pointing it out to bigler, who doesn't have solid works...
Apr 19, 2015 6:13 PM - Bill Monroe: and, by the way, stay off my lawn
Apr 19, 2015 6:14 PM - Printed Solid: but doesn't solid works suck with stl?
Apr 19, 2015 6:14 PM - Bill Monroe: i guess.. i very rarely need to mod an STL. I dont like to use other people's work
Apr 19, 2015 6:15 PM - Printed Solid: lol. we lived next door to that guy. came over and started screaming at me because our dog walked over to his house. then came over and started screaming at me because the fence to keep the dog off of his lawn was too close to his property line!
Apr 19, 2015 6:15 PM - Bill Monroe: that box I just did was a jb stl
Apr 19, 2015 6:15 PM - Printed Solid: got it.
Apr 19, 2015 6:16 PM - Bill Monroe: there isnt enough information in an stl to make a solidworks file directly
Apr 19, 2015 6:18 PM - Printed Solid: right. and I haven't found a tool to bring an stl into stp effectively.
Apr 19, 2015 6:19 PM - Bill Monroe: we have a QE at work that dove in full into the whole amature techy thing.. arduinos, sketchup, raspberry pi, etc... he's constantly boasting about sketchup, at the same time he's asking me to modify his stuff
Apr 19, 2015 6:19 PM - Printed Solid: ya. sketchup is pretty great for the price though :)
Apr 19, 2015 6:19 PM - Bill Monroe: well, ya get what you pay for
Apr 19, 2015 6:20 PM - Printed Solid: I do hate it when customers send in messed up sketch up files.
Apr 19, 2015 6:20 PM - Bill Monroe: of course, I dont pay for SW (and no, I dont bootleg it)
Apr 19, 2015 6:21 PM - Bill Monroe: i had some kid in an industrial design major ask me to print one of his creations.. what a mess it was
    Apr 19, 2015 6:22 PM - Bill Monroe: but hey, I'm a fake engineer :D
Apr 19, 2015 6:22 PM - Printed Solid: right. those can be really bad.
Apr 19, 2015 6:23 PM - Bill Monroe: hey.. send me my stuff! :)
Apr 19, 2015 6:24 PM - Bill Monroe: heh my wife got all excited when I told her about bronze fill.. she started having all sorts of ideas
Apr 19, 2015 6:25 PM - Printed Solid: heh. my sample pack maker was busy letting me go to 3dprint show.
Apr 19, 2015 6:26 PM - Printed Solid: yeah. bronzefill is pretty awesome. Polishing it can be a chore though. Just don't do anything with too much detail.
Apr 19, 2015 6:26 PM - Printed Solid: Do you do woodworking?
    Apr 19, 2015 6:26 PM - Bill Monroe: I was a patternmaker for 22 years
Apr 19, 2015 6:27 PM - Bill Monroe: my family had a foundry business
Apr 19, 2015 6:27 PM - Printed Solid: ok. so, probably finishing it shouldn't be a big stresser for you.

Apr 19, 2015 6:27 PM - Printed Solid: let me know if you come up with any cool tricks.
Apr 19, 2015 6:28 PM - Bill Monroe: 'm not worried about it
Apr 19, 2015 6:28 PM - Bill Monroe: i pour castings not for the Joshua Tree Artists
    Apr 19, 2015 6:29 PM - Bill Monroe: not=now
Apr 19, 2015 6:29 PM - Bill Monroe: I missed the foundry when it closed so I built one of my own.
Apr 19, 2015 6:30 PM - Bill Monroe: no hurry really...
Apr 19, 2015 6:31 PM - jbigler1986: i hate apple. to locked up for me. i like open source stuff
Apr 19, 2015 6:32 PM - Printed Solid: cool. it will just ship Tuesday instead of monday.
Apr 19, 2015 6:33 PM - jbigler1986: i do have SW. Just haven't had the time to fully dive into it
Apr 19, 2015 6:33 PM - Printed Solid: yeah, I've never been into Apple either, but really wanted to try morphi.
    Apr 19, 2015 6:34 PM - jbigler1986: thanks bills
    Apr 19, 2015 6:34 PM - jbigler1986: Bill*
Apr 19, 2015 6:34 PM - Printed Solid: I'm meeting with a few schools in the coming weeks to establish 3D programs and I think that is an awesome entry.
Apr 19, 2015 6:36 PM - jbigler1986: That is awesome. Oh I tried that mixxee popper earlier for the hell of it that I saw on your site. It wasn't to bad
Apr 19, 2015 6:40 PM - Printed Solid: Yeah, I think things like that that are super easy to use are great for getting people started with 3D
Apr 19, 2015 6:42 PM - jbigler1986: i'm using tinkercad to make these boxes. very simple
Apr 19, 2015 6:44 PM - jbigler1986: i have made a few things in SW. Probably should have made these in it
    Apr 19, 2015 6:46 PM - Printed Solid: it's like tinkercad.
    Apr 19, 2015 6:47 PM - jbigler1986: ha. only way more inlolved
Apr 19, 2015 6:49 PM - Printed Solid: sorry, I'm half here half somewhere else. solidworks is way more involved. morphi is like tinkercad. just on an app.
    Apr 19, 2015 6:50 PM - jbigler1986: gotcha. it happens
Apr 19, 2015 7:35 PM - jbigler1986: Bill what did you use for that

    Apr 20, 2015 4:04 AM - jbigler1986: Morning
Apr 20, 2015 5:26 AM - JeffTheMess: Good morning rononauts
    Apr 20, 2015 5:26 AM - jbigler1986: morning
Apr 20, 2015 5:26 AM - JeffTheMess: hey jb you had connection issues with s3d?
Apr 20, 2015 5:29 AM - jbigler1986: I have actually. I ran a print overnight running from usb (which I never print with usb) and it just quit printing after about an hour
Apr 20, 2015 5:30 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, I gotta figure it out becasue it doesn't even see my printer,it see the com port but not the printer
Apr 20, 2015 5:30 AM - jbigler1986: You can copy the gcode to SD card then print from SD with repetier
Apr 20, 2015 5:30 AM - jbigler1986: Oh. I connect to my printer just fine from it
Apr 20, 2015 5:32 AM - jbigler1986: try this. turn of printer, unplug usb, close s3d. turn on printer, connect usb, start s3d.
    Apr 20, 2015 5:39 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah ill try that tonight,thanks
    Apr 20, 2015 5:40 AM - jbigler1986: np
Apr 20, 2015 5:40 AM - JeffTheMess: you print anything good over the weekend?
Apr 20, 2015 5:43 AM - jbigler1986: nope. i was busy trying to get cura working again and trying to print really thin parts like airplane wings. also designing a tool holder for a few tools on my desk
Apr 20, 2015 5:43 AM - jbigler1986: got it all fixed though. printing the tool holder now. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jbigler1986
    Apr 20, 2015 5:45 AM - JeffTheMess: nice
Apr 20, 2015 5:46 AM - jbigler1986: it would have barely fit on the bed so i wanted to puzzle cut it
Apr 20, 2015 5:47 AM - JeffTheMess: wow how big is it?
    Apr 20, 2015 5:47 AM - jbigler1986: 230mm long and about 100mm wide
Apr 20, 2015 5:50 AM - JeffTheMess: you like the puzzle cut method best?
Apr 20, 2015 5:51 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. it works good. i used it for my tool holder that's on my robo
    Apr 20, 2015 5:51 AM - jbigler1986: it's way better than a straight cut
Apr 20, 2015 5:52 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah that is true
Apr 20, 2015 5:53 AM - JeffTheMess: is that something you do yourself or sw has that feature?
    Apr 20, 2015 5:55 AM - jbigler1986: do it in SW
    Apr 20, 2015 5:58 AM - JeffTheMess: nice
Apr 20, 2015 6:01 AM - jbigler1986: I found out how to do it in openscad with an already made stl file. Just need to figure out how to move an object in openscad
Apr 20, 2015 6:05 AM - JeffTheMess: cool, i finally got my ribbon cable, turns out my robo had the old cable versus the ribbon cable
Apr 20, 2015 6:06 AM - jbigler1986: when did you buy your robo?
Apr 20, 2015 6:06 AM - JeffTheMess: here on the robo website
Apr 20, 2015 6:06 AM - JeffTheMess: they had a sale on black friday 100 bucks off so i waited till then muahahaa
    Apr 20, 2015 6:07 AM - jbigler1986: ahh. just didn't change to ribbon cable yet i guess
Apr 20, 2015 6:08 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah lucky for me they provided the everything new so i can replace it properly
Apr 20, 2015 6:08 AM - jbigler1986: nice. now you will be able to crank up the bed temp
    Apr 20, 2015 6:08 AM - jbigler1986: after a firmware change
    Apr 20, 2015 6:09 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/Bushing-Linea...=8-10&keywords=linear+bearing#customerReviews are these long enough
Apr 20, 2015 6:13 AM - JeffTheMess: maybe two side by side, im not to familiar yet, i got inlaws over right now so i am limited to using my printer till wednesday, i want to get crankin
Apr 20, 2015 6:15 AM - JeffTheMess: mk would know best since he is an ME guy
Apr 20, 2015 6:16 AM - jbigler1986: yes he would. i'm about to order 3 spools of filament so i wanted to go ahead and order those while i was at it
    Apr 20, 2015 6:16 AM - TechSupportGo: hello
    Apr 20, 2015 6:16 AM - jbigler1986: hello
    Apr 20, 2015 6:17 AM - JeffTheMess: whatsup
    Apr 20, 2015 6:17 AM - JeffTheMess: ahh nice
Apr 20, 2015 6:18 AM - JeffTheMess: you order from the same supplier or you try different ones?
Apr 20, 2015 6:20 AM - jbigler1986: mostly the same. i have tried colorfabb, shaxon, mg chemicals, hatchbox, sainsmart
Apr 20, 2015 6:20 AM - jbigler1986: i liked all but the sainsmart. it was way to hairy/stringy
Apr 20, 2015 6:21 AM - jbigler1986: but now i just order hatchbox unless i need something sooner then i do shaxon
    Apr 20, 2015 6:21 AM - TechSupportGo: https://blog.adafruit.com/2014/06/05/3d-printed-40mm-fan-replacement/
    Apr 20, 2015 6:22 AM - jbigler1986: that's awesome
Apr 20, 2015 6:24 AM - Bill Monroe: gooooooooooooood mornin!

Apr 20, 2015 6:24 AM - JeffTheMess: Good morning Bill!
Apr 20, 2015 6:25 AM - Bill Monroe: I wanna play with 3D printing concrete
    Apr 20, 2015 6:25 AM - jbigler1986: Bill. http://www.amazon.com/Bushing-Linea...=8-10&keywords=linear+bearing#customerReviews
    Apr 20, 2015 6:25 AM - jbigler1986: will those do
Apr 20, 2015 6:26 AM - Bill Monroe: pretty sure.. let me measure mine to be certain.. wait 1
    Apr 20, 2015 6:26 AM - jbigler1986: kk
Apr 20, 2015 6:26 AM - Bill Monroe: yup. those are the ones
    Apr 20, 2015 6:27 AM - jbigler1986: sweet. it uses 4 right?
    Apr 20, 2015 6:27 AM - Bill Monroe: yes
    Apr 20, 2015 6:28 AM - jbigler1986: that's what i though
Apr 20, 2015 6:29 AM - jbigler1986: thought. oh i found out a way to puzzle cut in openscad. just couldn't figure out how to move on object. i figured out how to rotate it. just not move it
    Apr 20, 2015 6:32 AM - Bill Monroe: i knew you would
    Apr 20, 2015 6:33 AM - Bill Monroe: what's Jimmy Fallon's sidekick's name?
Apr 20, 2015 6:33 AM - jbigler1986: although i didn't spend a ton of time trying to figure it out
    Apr 20, 2015 6:33 AM - jbigler1986: no idea
Apr 20, 2015 6:34 AM - Bill Monroe: nm Steve HIggins
    Apr 20, 2015 6:34 AM - jbigler1986: well there goes a $76 amazon order. damn them
Apr 20, 2015 6:34 AM - Bill Monroe: I saw an I Love Lucy episode that had a guy that looks exactly like him
Apr 20, 2015 6:36 AM - JeffTheMess: its an investment jb
    Apr 20, 2015 6:36 AM - jbigler1986: investment of fun yes
    Apr 20, 2015 6:37 AM - jbigler1986: or headache sometimes
Apr 20, 2015 6:43 AM - JeffTheMess: there "fun" headaches
Apr 20, 2015 6:57 AM - jbigler1986: anyone know how to stop cura from extruding a line before it starts to print the skirt?
Apr 20, 2015 6:59 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, dont use cura :)
    Apr 20, 2015 6:59 AM - Mike Kelly: morning
Apr 20, 2015 7:00 AM - Mike Kelly: jb edit the startup script
    Apr 20, 2015 7:02 AM - jbigler1986: to what?
    Apr 20, 2015 7:02 AM - JeffTheMess: morning Mike
Apr 20, 2015 7:03 AM - Mike Kelly: just remove whatever lines of code that's sending that extrude command
Apr 20, 2015 7:05 AM - JeffTheMess: I was gonna come on yesterday to bother mike "since the bed is basically a resistor does it matter the polarity?" lol
Apr 20, 2015 7:07 AM - Mike Kelly: people who ask questions like that don't even know what a resistor is
    Apr 20, 2015 7:08 AM - jbigler1986: i'm not a big fan of electrical
Apr 20, 2015 7:10 AM - jbigler1986: MK did you see that guys ptfe tube taped to his jhead?
Apr 20, 2015 7:10 AM - Mike Kelly: hmm nope
    Apr 20, 2015 7:11 AM - Mike Kelly: i couldn't have done electric engineering, i can't handle imaginary numbers
    Apr 20, 2015 7:11 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Apr 20, 2015 7:11 AM - JeffTheMess: imaginary numbers only work in the sinusoidal world not dc world
Apr 20, 2015 7:12 AM - Mike Kelly: oh yeah that guy
Apr 20, 2015 7:12 AM - Mike Kelly: he threaded his heater block all the way to the heatsink
Apr 20, 2015 7:12 AM - Mike Kelly: by jhead you meant gregs wade
Apr 20, 2015 7:12 AM - jbigler1986: how the hell did he do that?
    Apr 20, 2015 7:13 AM - jbigler1986: shit yes
Apr 20, 2015 7:13 AM - Mike Kelly: i dunno but printed solid caught it
Apr 20, 2015 7:13 AM - Mike Kelly: i've seen that happen once or twice before
Apr 20, 2015 7:14 AM - jbigler1986: the nozzle threads aren't long enough to the heatsink
Apr 20, 2015 7:16 AM - jbigler1986: looks like he tightened the hell out of the heat block. his nozzle has exposed threads
Apr 20, 2015 7:17 AM - jbigler1986: is he using ptfe to feed filament? is that why he has it taped to the idler
Apr 20, 2015 7:20 AM - Mike Kelly: that was my assumption
Apr 20, 2015 7:20 AM - Mike Kelly: i've seen people do that

Apr 20, 2015 7:21 AM - JeffTheMess: is it just me or that doesn't seem feasible?
    Apr 20, 2015 7:21 AM - Mike Kelly: huh?
    Apr 20, 2015 7:21 AM - jbigler1986: it just acts as a guide basically
    Apr 20, 2015 7:21 AM - Mike Kelly: ya
Apr 20, 2015 7:22 AM - jbigler1986: not the greatest way to attach it though
Apr 20, 2015 7:23 AM - Mike Glass: hot glue would of been better..lol Morning
Apr 20, 2015 7:23 AM - jbigler1986: in that case yes it would have
    Apr 20, 2015 7:23 AM - jbigler1986: morning to you
    Apr 20, 2015 7:24 AM - JeffTheMess: morning
Apr 20, 2015 7:26 AM - Mike Kelly: definitely drank too much yesterday
    Apr 20, 2015 7:26 AM - jbigler1986: such a shitty feeling
    Apr 20, 2015 7:26 AM - jbigler1986: sorry about that
Apr 20, 2015 7:27 AM - Mike Kelly: kinda want to take a nap
Apr 20, 2015 7:28 AM - jbigler1986: that is one reason why i rarely drink
    Apr 20, 2015 7:28 AM - Mike Kelly: that's a skill i need to master
Apr 20, 2015 7:29 AM - Mike Glass: Fabric printer, Who comes up with this shit..haha
Apr 20, 2015 7:29 AM - JeffTheMess: eat a cheeseburger, the fat will help with hangover (if you dare)
Apr 20, 2015 7:29 AM - jbigler1986: once i had kids the urge to drink just kinda went away
Apr 20, 2015 7:29 AM - Mike Glass: Or Tacos, always works for me
    Apr 20, 2015 7:30 AM - jbigler1986: bacon
Apr 20, 2015 7:30 AM - Mike Kelly: i had a chorizo burrito. i feel better just really tired now
Apr 20, 2015 7:30 AM - Mike Glass: Wow JB, It makes me wanna drink more..lol I havent had a beer in 4 weeks though..
Apr 20, 2015 7:31 AM - jbigler1986: well i get those moments. Then I think about having to deal with them while feeling like shit. not a fun experience
    Apr 20, 2015 7:31 AM - Mike Kelly: heh
Apr 20, 2015 7:32 AM - Mike Glass: I let my wife deal with them..
Apr 20, 2015 7:32 AM - Mike Glass: she is stay at home mom, so she has experience..lol
Apr 20, 2015 7:32 AM - jbigler1986: i try. kids are always asking for me though
Apr 20, 2015 7:33 AM - Mike Glass: at least 4 months of it.
    Apr 20, 2015 7:33 AM - Mike Kelly: heh
Apr 20, 2015 7:34 AM - jbigler1986: does my printer look like it's going faster than 40mm/s? haven't printed above 30 in forever so not sure
Apr 20, 2015 7:34 AM - Mike Glass: Are you using cura
Apr 20, 2015 7:34 AM - JeffTheMess: your live feed broke on me :(
    Apr 20, 2015 7:35 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jbigler1986
    Apr 20, 2015 7:35 AM - jbigler1986: yeah cura
    Apr 20, 2015 7:35 AM - jbigler1986: it's printing fine. was just wondering
Apr 20, 2015 7:35 AM - Mike Kelly: that looks like 40 to me
Apr 20, 2015 7:36 AM - jbigler1986: MK u gotta keep watching it. The shaky camera won't make you sick or anything
    Apr 20, 2015 7:36 AM - Mike Kelly: lol
Apr 20, 2015 7:39 AM - JeffTheMess: lol what the heck is going on there!?
    Apr 20, 2015 7:40 AM - jbigler1986: earthquake
Apr 20, 2015 7:41 AM - Mike Glass: did you desgin that?
Apr 20, 2015 7:42 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. minus the puzzle cut. i was going to find a way to do it but Bill knocked it out
Apr 20, 2015 7:42 AM - jbigler1986: I figured out how to do it in openscad. just need to figure out how to move a part
Apr 20, 2015 7:43 AM - Mike Glass: might want to change your wall thickness then, that will stop the infill on walls. and make it build way faster
    Apr 20, 2015 7:44 AM - jbigler1986: yeah true
Apr 20, 2015 7:44 AM - Mike Glass: I was having that issue yesterday, found 1.5mm works very well
Apr 20, 2015 7:45 AM - jbigler1986: there is lettering on the front of it too
Apr 20, 2015 7:45 AM - Mike Glass: how tall is it
    Apr 20, 2015 7:45 AM - jbigler1986: i think 40mm. don't recall
    Apr 20, 2015 7:46 AM - jbigler1986: 50mm
Apr 20, 2015 7:49 AM - JeffTheMess: you got a jpeg of the file?
    Apr 20, 2015 7:49 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
    Apr 20, 2015 7:50 AM - JeffTheMess: nice
    Apr 20, 2015 7:50 AM - jbigler1986: simple
Apr 20, 2015 7:51 AM - jbigler1986: got tired of getting them out of a tote i have under my desk
    Apr 20, 2015 7:52 AM - JeffTheMess: good idea
Apr 20, 2015 7:53 AM - jbigler1986: and didn't want them just sitting on the desk
Apr 20, 2015 7:53 AM - jbigler1986: anyone have an idea of how much psi it would take to hold the hotend in place
    Apr 20, 2015 7:54 AM - Mike Kelly: 42
    Apr 20, 2015 7:54 AM - jbigler1986: that was fast
Apr 20, 2015 7:54 AM - Mike Kelly: that's because we have no context as to what you mean
    Apr 20, 2015 7:55 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
    Apr 20, 2015 7:55 AM - Mike Glass: its actually 45 Mike
Apr 20, 2015 7:58 AM - jbigler1986: instead of the 2 bolts securing the hotend
Apr 20, 2015 7:58 AM - jbigler1986: nowhere near my skill. i was just wondering
Apr 20, 2015 7:58 AM - Mike Kelly: well pressure is a function of surface contact
Apr 20, 2015 8:02 AM - Stephen Capistron: you could guess at the clamping force those two screws apply, but my torque v clamping force tables are at work
    Apr 20, 2015 8:04 AM - Montravont: Morning
    Apr 20, 2015 8:05 AM - Mike Kelly: hey who's that guy
    Apr 20, 2015 8:05 AM - Montravont: no clue
Apr 20, 2015 8:05 AM - jbigler1986: yeah it would be a cool mod for someone with the skill
    Apr 20, 2015 8:05 AM - Montravont: some weirdo...
Apr 20, 2015 8:06 AM - Montravont: So just an item of note... When Mike Kelly tells you to do something regarding your printer... just do it
    Apr 20, 2015 8:06 AM - Mike Kelly: haha
Apr 20, 2015 8:07 AM - Montravont: Never bothered to change the steps per mm for my Z after switching to metric rods
Apr 20, 2015 8:07 AM - Mike Kelly: lmao oh no
Apr 20, 2015 8:07 AM - Montravont: because my print quality was looking great and didn't seem worth the hassle
Apr 20, 2015 8:08 AM - Montravont: Until I tried printing a new fan duct/holder last night and it was about 4mm off in height over the whole print
    Apr 20, 2015 8:09 AM - jbigler1986: woops. it happens
Apr 20, 2015 8:09 AM - Montravont: Changed the steps and printed something else just to test it... correct height and even better quality than I was already getting
Apr 20, 2015 8:10 AM - Mike Kelly: good deal
    Apr 20, 2015 8:10 AM - Montravont: Praise the Z, adjust your steps... and F U C K I N G listen to Mike Kelly
Apr 20, 2015 8:10 AM - jbigler1986: at least you knew what the issue was
    Apr 20, 2015 8:10 AM - Montravont: true true
Apr 20, 2015 8:11 AM - Montravont: I mostly print small items so most things are only off by maybe 1mm... usually less because the overall height it so short
Apr 20, 2015 8:12 AM - JeffTheMess: ( I wonder how much Mike K paid this guy) lol just kidding yeah Mike K is a very smart fellow
Apr 20, 2015 8:12 AM - Montravont: so I hadn't really noticed it. That and nothing else I've printed has had the need of being precise
Apr 20, 2015 8:16 AM - Montravont: So I won one of the rolls of filament from the survey thing they emailed out a bit
Apr 20, 2015 8:16 AM - Montravont: since I live in SD, I just went by the office to pick it up and save them some shipping
    Apr 20, 2015 8:16 AM - Mike Kelly: congrats
    Apr 20, 2015 8:16 AM - Mike Kelly: how's the new facility?
Apr 20, 2015 8:16 AM - Montravont: Didn't see the new printers, but saw the results of the largest one
Apr 20, 2015 8:17 AM - Montravont: It was a planter on this scale: http://img2.wfrcdn.com/lf/50/hash/2...Online-Fluted-Square-Pot-Planter-FS20BKRO.jpg
Apr 20, 2015 8:17 AM - Montravont: But fluted and a little taller
Apr 20, 2015 8:17 AM - Montravont: New office is so much better than the old one
Apr 20, 2015 8:17 AM - Montravont: LOTS more space
Apr 20, 2015 8:18 AM - Montravont: they have one whole room dedicated to just print services with about 40 or so printers setup and a good portion of those running/printing
    Apr 20, 2015 8:20 AM - JeffTheMess: NICE
Apr 20, 2015 8:20 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i saw that picture, seems clever
Apr 20, 2015 8:21 AM - Montravont: I mean.. I knew the new printer was large.... but sometimes you don't understand 1MX3 until you see a planter too large to wrap your arms around

Apr 20, 2015 8:24 AM - Mike Kelly: mont they're actually sending me a printer
Apr 20, 2015 8:24 AM - Montravont: but the least they could do is send him the new large printer to beta test

Apr 20, 2015 8:27 AM - jbigler1986: it's called beta testers. jeeze. what are they thinking
Apr 20, 2015 8:27 AM - Montravont: One thing I found.. I need to recalibrate my Z-Offset after changing the steps
Apr 20, 2015 8:27 AM - Montravont: Probably do that tonight
Apr 20, 2015 8:28 AM - Montravont: While I'd love to beta test the new printers. 1: They probably wouldn't let me as I'm not active enough on here lately; 2: I'm not going to have room for it before too long
Apr 20, 2015 8:29 AM - Mike Kelly: moving again?
Apr 20, 2015 8:29 AM - jbigler1986: are they even going to send one to resellers like printed
Apr 20, 2015 8:29 AM - Montravont: Nope.. (well, not right away) just have to clear out some of the stuff in our office to make more space
    Apr 20, 2015 8:29 AM - Mike Kelly: ah
    Apr 20, 2015 8:30 AM - Montravont: It needs to become an office/nursery =D

Apr 20, 2015 8:35 AM - Montravont: And then we'll be looking to move (probably to Portland) sometime next year
Apr 20, 2015 8:35 AM - Montravont: single income in SD just isn't going to work
    Apr 20, 2015 8:35 AM - Mike Glass: lucky your young, I waited till I was 40..lol

Apr 20, 2015 8:37 AM - Mike Glass: My youngest is 4 oldest is 7 and other is 6
Apr 20, 2015 8:37 AM - Montravont: Wife only turns 28 this year though, so she's still young enough that if we want to have another one later it won't be a health problem/concern
Apr 20, 2015 8:37 AM - Mike Kelly: gonna be printing some of these soon for my new nibling: http://i.imgur.com/Pw9O17t.jpg
Apr 20, 2015 8:37 AM - Montravont: Nice! I remember you showed me those a while back
Apr 20, 2015 8:38 AM - Montravont: I'll probably end up printing soooo many things once the kiddo is old enough to not die from playing with the prints
Apr 20, 2015 8:38 AM - Montravont: but plenty of other things will be usable... printed mobiles and such
Apr 20, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Kelly: for sure
Apr 20, 2015 8:39 AM - Montravont: Print my own glow in the dark ceiling stars
Apr 20, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Glass: You preggers too mike
Apr 20, 2015 8:39 AM - Montravont: Get that 1Mx3 printer and just print the crib
    Apr 20, 2015 8:40 AM - JeffTheMess: nowyour thinkin
Apr 20, 2015 8:41 AM - Montravont: That would actually be pretty sweet.... use the wood-fill
Apr 20, 2015 8:41 AM - Montravont: Could design it however you want
Apr 20, 2015 8:42 AM - Montravont: I'm also imagining the prosthetic items people could print on that
Apr 20, 2015 8:43 AM - Montravont: Large enough to print prosthetic thighs and calves
Apr 20, 2015 8:43 AM - Montravont: Need a new computer case.. here you go
Apr 20, 2015 8:44 AM - Montravont: new desk to put that computer on? Yep
Apr 20, 2015 8:45 AM - Mike Kelly: nope, neice of nephew soon
    Apr 20, 2015 8:46 AM - Montravont: Now I want the large printer =/
Apr 20, 2015 8:50 AM - Montravont: O.O print a desk in glow in the dark filament
Apr 20, 2015 8:51 AM - jbigler1986: you can on the robo. might take a while and you will be attaching a lot of parts together. lol
Apr 20, 2015 8:52 AM - Montravont: Yeah, but the new large printer is 1M cubed
Apr 20, 2015 8:52 AM - Montravont: large enough to print a small desk in once piece
    Apr 20, 2015 8:52 AM - jbigler1986: i know. just saying.
Apr 20, 2015 8:53 AM - jbigler1986: wonder what the footprint of that thing is
    Apr 20, 2015 8:54 AM - Montravont: I'm guessing either 3.5'x3.5' or 4x4
    Apr 20, 2015 8:54 AM - Montravont: then maybe... 5 tall
    Apr 20, 2015 8:55 AM - Montravont: that's just wild speculation though
Apr 20, 2015 8:57 AM - jbigler1986: yes. need to dedicate an entire room for that
Apr 20, 2015 8:58 AM - Montravont: I'm hoping that when we find a place to buy, I'll have room for a shop or a man cave
    Apr 20, 2015 8:59 AM - Montravont: preferably both =p
Apr 20, 2015 9:00 AM - jbigler1986: I have one of those 2. should have both but my wife refuses to let me put anything in the garage for fear of getting her car (dirty)
    Apr 20, 2015 9:01 AM - Mike Kelly: that's strange
Apr 20, 2015 9:02 AM - Mike Kelly: i'm hoping eventually i'll be working from home and i can get an office
Apr 20, 2015 9:02 AM - jbigler1986: I think she thinks I'm going to have debris flying all over the place
Apr 20, 2015 9:03 AM - Mike Glass: I thought you garage was your office Mike
    Apr 20, 2015 9:03 AM - Mike Kelly: that's my workshop
Apr 20, 2015 9:04 AM - Mike Kelly: funny story about that. i was practicing airbrushing, just drawing some lines/circles, in my dad's garage
Apr 20, 2015 9:04 AM - Mike Kelly: and he gets home from work and flips the fuck out thinking i was going to get paint on his new GT500
Apr 20, 2015 9:04 AM - Mike Kelly: it's like "i'm putting down an absolutely tiny amount of paint, it's not spray paint"
    Apr 20, 2015 9:04 AM - jbigler1986: do you blame him
    Apr 20, 2015 9:04 AM - jbigler1986: somewhat anyways
Apr 20, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Glass: haha no shit
Apr 20, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Glass: probably water based too
Apr 20, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i don't blame him and it was water based

Apr 20, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: but his reaction was just crazy
Apr 20, 2015 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: i was no where near the car and airbrushes don't off spray like that
Apr 20, 2015 9:06 AM - jbigler1986: it was probably more of an instinct thing
Apr 20, 2015 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah he assumed airbrushing is the same as spray paints
Apr 20, 2015 9:06 AM - jbigler1986: i probably would have done the same then realized it wasn't a big deal and apologized
Apr 20, 2015 9:07 AM - Mike Kelly: he didn't and bought a car cover
Apr 20, 2015 9:08 AM - Mike Glass: Untill my kids are out of the house, Im not planning on haveing anything that nice, they are so destructive.

Apr 20, 2015 9:12 AM - jbigler1986: if you work from home is it going to be the same company you work for now?

Apr 20, 2015 12:27 PM - JeffTheMess: tech that has wireless capability that can be implanted in the body, is a very risky game
Apr 20, 2015 12:27 PM - JeffTheMess: but it saves so many lives
Apr 20, 2015 12:27 PM - Mike Kelly: how do you figure
Apr 20, 2015 12:28 PM - jbigler1986: well if it's something that you "need" then why not take the chance. That's what happens with lots of medical devices
Apr 20, 2015 12:29 PM - JeffTheMess: If they are not properly installed just getting shocked can trigger for example too much medicine that can harm you
Apr 20, 2015 12:29 PM - JeffTheMess: an ESD (electo static discharge) affect
Apr 20, 2015 12:31 PM - JeffTheMess: im am extra careful when testing them at my lab because of that
Apr 20, 2015 12:31 PM - JeffTheMess: I over test them to make sure they work
Apr 20, 2015 12:34 PM - Mike Glass: just rub your feet on the carpet before handling them..
    Apr 20, 2015 12:34 PM - JeffTheMess: lol

Apr 20, 2015 12:45 PM - Mike Glass: anybody know what the different plotter cutter blades are for.
    Apr 20, 2015 12:54 PM - jbigler1986: i know nothing about wood working
    Apr 20, 2015 12:55 PM - jbigler1986: sorry
    Apr 20, 2015 1:01 PM - Mike Glass: its not woodworking..lol
    Apr 20, 2015 1:03 PM - jbigler1986: wasn't MK building a plotter for wood cutting
    Apr 20, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Glass: planer
Apr 20, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Glass: plotter is for paper

Apr 20, 2015 1:08 PM - Bill Monroe: beautiful workmanship
Apr 20, 2015 1:09 PM - Bill Monroe: I think my state should round up and ship all the illegals to DC.. that'll save a ton of water
Apr 20, 2015 1:09 PM - Bill Monroe: cancel the stoopid bullet train and build more desalination
Apr 20, 2015 1:10 PM - JeffTheMess: the train was (i heard) a cheaper way than expanding the highway
Apr 20, 2015 1:10 PM - Bill Monroe: you heard propoganda
Apr 20, 2015 1:11 PM - JeffTheMess: all through Fremont too
Apr 20, 2015 1:12 PM - Bill Monroe: bahahah no bullet train in fremont!
Apr 20, 2015 1:12 PM - JeffTheMess: no that was the brat train right? lol
    Apr 20, 2015 1:13 PM - Bill Monroe: bart
Apr 20, 2015 1:13 PM - JeffTheMess: same thing lol
Apr 20, 2015 1:13 PM - Bill Monroe: someone made a proposal without any consideration of it being possible which, for all intent and purspoes, it is not
    Apr 20, 2015 1:14 PM - jbigler1986: woah Bill
Apr 20, 2015 1:14 PM - JeffTheMess: well that sucks
Apr 20, 2015 1:14 PM - Bill Monroe: the only possible route (possible, not easy or cheap) is between Merced and Fresno
Apr 20, 2015 1:14 PM - Bill Monroe: and no one needs it
Apr 20, 2015 1:15 PM - Bill Monroe: it's a liberal program to use federal funds
Apr 20, 2015 1:15 PM - Bill Monroe: honestly, I dont think a single tractor will ever put it's blade into soil
Apr 20, 2015 1:15 PM - JeffTheMess: you are right my friend
Apr 20, 2015 1:16 PM - Bill Monroe: i think they'll ge tthe money, then divert it to care for illegals and lasy teat-hanging wastes of DNA
Apr 20, 2015 1:16 PM - Bill Monroe: if I had time, I'd tell you what I really think about it :)
Apr 20, 2015 1:16 PM - JeffTheMess: lol harsh truth will prevail
Apr 20, 2015 1:17 PM - Bill Monroe: this will all die down when the drought ends like it always does
Apr 20, 2015 1:19 PM - JeffTheMess: it also does, I was there for a drought and all died down went back to normal crap

Apr 20, 2015 1:37 PM - Bill Monroe: oooo my fav!
Apr 20, 2015 1:38 PM - Soupaboy: we accpet all filaments to Bill.
Apr 20, 2015 1:38 PM - Soupaboy: it helps to lubricate then before inserting then through the extruder
Apr 20, 2015 1:38 PM - Bill Monroe: the way that supple filamant enters the nozzles and extrudes out that shiny long... uhh excuse me, I ned a moment..

Apr 20, 2015 1:44 PM - Bill Monroe: you have a router jb?
    Apr 20, 2015 1:45 PM - jbigler1986: nope
Apr 20, 2015 1:45 PM - Bill Monroe: that does a much better job on acrylic than a bandsaw
    Apr 20, 2015 1:45 PM - Mike Glass: I use a table saw for my 1/4 acrylic
Apr 20, 2015 1:46 PM - Mike Glass: as long as you have 60 or more tooth blade
Apr 20, 2015 1:47 PM - Mike Glass: then sand and fire polish the edges
Apr 20, 2015 1:47 PM - Mike Kelly: i'd probably need to buy a new blade to cut metal on my table saw right?
Apr 20, 2015 1:47 PM - Bill Monroe: difficult to make anything but straight cuts
    Apr 20, 2015 1:47 PM - Bill Monroe: 10" blade = no less than 100 teeth
    Apr 20, 2015 1:47 PM - Bill Monroe: carbide
Apr 20, 2015 1:47 PM - Bill Monroe: ground for plastic
Apr 20, 2015 1:48 PM - Mike Kelly: i guess i should just take them into work instead of doing it by hand, got all the band saws i need here
Apr 20, 2015 1:48 PM - Mike Glass: as long as its carbide it will cut anyting
Apr 20, 2015 1:48 PM - Bill Monroe: for flame polishing anything but Hydrogen will yellow it
Apr 20, 2015 1:49 PM - Mike Glass: butane works fine also

Apr 20, 2015 1:50 PM - Mike Kelly: are bells clear?
Apr 20, 2015 1:50 PM - Mike Glass: must be montana slang.
Apr 20, 2015 1:51 PM - Mike Glass: "clear as a bell bitch"
Apr 20, 2015 1:51 PM - Bill Monroe: i've made dozens of covers for museum displays, got working it down to a science
Apr 20, 2015 1:51 PM - Mike Kelly: must have come from the sound meaning of clear

Apr 20, 2015 2:25 PM - Mike Glass: naw, gotta save money for this effin software I have to upgrade...ugg
Apr 20, 2015 2:25 PM - Mike Glass: but the plugin will let me import stl directly to the software, instead of me designing it in there own special crap.
    Apr 20, 2015 2:26 PM - Mike Kelly: huh
Apr 20, 2015 2:26 PM - Mike Glass: but then again I should be able to do this all on the multitool
Apr 20, 2015 2:27 PM - Mike Glass: Im talking about my old cnc machine.
Apr 20, 2015 2:27 PM - Mike Kelly: ah gotcha

Apr 20, 2015 2:31 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm trying to decide if i should keep the ~6" wide pieces i've already cut for the post table and plane them, or make new ones from the 2x8 i have so they're wider
Apr 20, 2015 2:31 PM - Mike Glass: somebody just did this on the machine. [IMG]
Apr 20, 2015 2:31 PM - Mike Kelly: what no way

Apr 20, 2015 3:05 PM - dbvanhorn: IMHO the full size Groot should have won best costume.

Apr 20, 2015 3:05 PM - Mike Kelly: nope i mostly drank my weekend away
Apr 20, 2015 3:09 PM - dbvanhorn: The presenter had two machines there, one inoperable and the other with wires hanging out and endstop problems, wasn't getting good bed adhesion.
Apr 20, 2015 3:09 PM - dbvanhorn: Was wishing I'd brought the robo.
Apr 20, 2015 3:14 PM - dbvanhorn: Lots of interest, good questions.

    Apr 20, 2015 3:27 PM - Mike Kelly: fun
Apr 20, 2015 3:28 PM - Mike Glass: Where did you buy those at
    Apr 20, 2015 3:30 PM - dbvanhorn: Who buy?
    Apr 20, 2015 3:31 PM - Mike Kelly: http://imgur.com/a/EwuGd this is fun
Apr 20, 2015 3:42 PM - jbigler1986: What is the max stock speed on the robo
    Apr 20, 2015 3:42 PM - jbigler1986: Is it 60mm/s
    Apr 20, 2015 3:43 PM - Mike Kelly: sure
    Apr 20, 2015 3:44 PM - Mike Kelly: 50 for outer perimeter i guess
Apr 20, 2015 3:48 PM - jbigler1986: Well I cracked it up to 60. See how it goes
    Apr 20, 2015 3:48 PM - jbigler1986: It was at 45 earlier
Apr 20, 2015 4:17 PM - jbigler1986: this is how the robo extruder should be http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:757864
Apr 20, 2015 4:19 PM - Mike Kelly: that is bonkers
    Apr 20, 2015 4:20 PM - jbigler1986: looks awesome
    Apr 20, 2015 4:20 PM - jbigler1986: so that's your next upgrade right?
    Apr 20, 2015 4:20 PM - Mike Kelly: lol
    Apr 20, 2015 4:22 PM - jbigler1986: looks like an engine. lol
Apr 20, 2015 4:23 PM - Mike Kelly: that's what i thought it was at first
Apr 20, 2015 4:24 PM - jbigler1986: could you imagine that on the robo
    Apr 20, 2015 4:25 PM - Mike Kelly: no
Apr 20, 2015 4:26 PM - jbigler1986: some people have to much time
    Apr 20, 2015 4:26 PM - Mike Kelly: na
Apr 20, 2015 4:28 PM - jbigler1986: how long would something like that take you to design
    Apr 20, 2015 4:28 PM - Mike Kelly: hmm
    Apr 20, 2015 4:28 PM - Mike Kelly: a few days
    Apr 20, 2015 4:29 PM - jbigler1986: that's not to bad
Apr 20, 2015 4:29 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah it's not overly complex
    Apr 20, 2015 4:30 PM - jbigler1986: give me 9 months and i will have it
    Apr 20, 2015 4:30 PM - jbigler1986: lol
Apr 20, 2015 5:06 PM - dbvanhorn: YAY Finally installed my replacements for those blue lights. I love how the blue looks, but the white is much easier to SEE.
Apr 20, 2015 5:07 PM - dbvanhorn: I put them up in the top near the slot, bouncing off the white interior plastic to give an almost shadowless light.
Apr 20, 2015 5:07 PM - dbvanhorn: Some day I might do some lights on the head itself, but this is a big help.
Apr 20, 2015 5:08 PM - jbigler1986: Matt got the nozzle and couplings today. Thanks. No gummy bears?
    Apr 20, 2015 5:08 PM - jbigler1986: Anybody tried out a solidoodle 3?
Apr 20, 2015 5:10 PM - Bill Monroe: what?? no gummy bears?? I'm cancelling
    Apr 20, 2015 5:11 PM - jbigler1986: Lol
    Apr 20, 2015 5:14 PM - jbigler1986: Is the solidoodle 3 any good
    Apr 20, 2015 5:15 PM - Bill Monroe: i have no idea
    Apr 20, 2015 5:16 PM - jbigler1986: Got someone selling one locally for $300
    Apr 20, 2015 5:16 PM - Bill Monroe: complete?
Apr 20, 2015 5:17 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah. Lightly used. Looks in good shape
Apr 20, 2015 5:17 PM - Bill Monroe: parts are worth that much
Apr 20, 2015 5:18 PM - Bill Monroe: this would be my preferred system, if I wasnt building on from scratch : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:115885
Apr 20, 2015 5:20 PM - jbigler1986: Seems like a great deal. Might have to check it out
Apr 20, 2015 5:21 PM - Bill Monroe: i prefer the lifting table format
Apr 20, 2015 5:23 PM - Shank: hey, i have two question, what would case a temp. error daring the auto bed leveling. also where can i buy the two prong connecters used for attaching the wires near the extruder
Apr 20, 2015 5:25 PM - Bill Monroe: temp error could be a intermittant open circuit
    Apr 20, 2015 5:25 PM - jbigler1986: Jst connectors
Apr 20, 2015 5:26 PM - Bill Monroe: the connectors are on amazon very reasonable
Apr 20, 2015 5:27 PM - Printed Solid: I used to consider solidoodle to be pretty comparable to Robo, but they seem to have gotten worse while robo has gotten better.
    Apr 20, 2015 5:27 PM - Printed Solid: 300 is probably OK.
    Apr 20, 2015 5:27 PM - Bill Monroe: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:115885
Apr 20, 2015 5:28 PM - Bill Monroe: i dunno Matt.. the Z axis on the Robo is a crime
Apr 20, 2015 5:29 PM - Bill Monroe: i like that they went to the lifting table format
Apr 20, 2015 5:30 PM - Printed Solid: most solidoodle prints I've seen look worse than the worst robo prints
    Apr 20, 2015 5:30 PM - Bill Monroe: that's interesting
    Apr 20, 2015 5:30 PM - Printed Solid: I don't know what the problem is. I
Apr 20, 2015 5:30 PM - Printed Solid: I agree that the moving bed is generally better.
    Apr 20, 2015 5:31 PM - Printed Solid: I mean z moving bed
    Apr 20, 2015 5:31 PM - Bill Monroe: ya, got that :)
    Apr 20, 2015 5:32 PM - jbigler1986: Woah. Nevermind then.
Apr 20, 2015 5:33 PM - Printed Solid: dizingof deer heat going strong. 25 hrs in. 74% complete.
    Apr 20, 2015 5:33 PM - jbigler1986: Where are my bears Matt? :p
    Apr 20, 2015 5:33 PM - Printed Solid: what?
Apr 20, 2015 5:33 PM - Printed Solid: who packed that order!
    Apr 20, 2015 5:33 PM - jbigler1986: Gummy bears
Apr 20, 2015 5:33 PM - Bill Monroe: matt, know where I can get a custom sized piece of borosilicate glass?
Apr 20, 2015 5:34 PM - Printed Solid: I know. We were out for a bit, but I don't put them in the flat envelopes anyways. sorry.
Apr 20, 2015 5:34 PM - Bill Monroe: no gummy, no money
Apr 20, 2015 5:34 PM - Printed Solid: Mike has a guy. I need to reach out to him.
Apr 20, 2015 5:34 PM - jbigler1986: I have only gotten them my first order. The E3dv6. Not a big deal. Just messing with you
Apr 20, 2015 5:34 PM - Printed Solid: VoxelFactory in Canada sells it and wants to refer me their US orders because they don't like shipping over the border.
Apr 20, 2015 5:35 PM - Printed Solid: we were out for a few days.
Apr 20, 2015 5:35 PM - Printed Solid: And I know my one packer sometimes eats them as he goes. maybe he ate yours :)
Apr 20, 2015 5:35 PM - jbigler1986: Customs is fun to deal with

Apr 20, 2015 5:37 PM - Printed Solid: my daughter scolds him, which is quite entertaining.
    Apr 20, 2015 5:37 PM - jbigler1986: Lol
Apr 20, 2015 5:41 PM - Printed Solid: He also informed me that nobody likes Swedish Fish. True or False?
    Apr 20, 2015 5:42 PM - Bill Monroe: what's swedish fish?
Apr 20, 2015 5:42 PM - Bill Monroe: oh candy
Apr 20, 2015 5:42 PM - Printed Solid: the candy. you've never heard of them?
    Apr 20, 2015 5:42 PM - Bill Monroe: never
Apr 20, 2015 5:43 PM - Bill Monroe: I had a swedish room mate during my masters work, she used to bake fish.. it was awesome
    Apr 20, 2015 5:44 PM - Bill Monroe: so, I was confused
    Apr 20, 2015 5:44 PM - Printed Solid: ha
    Apr 20, 2015 5:47 PM - jbigler1986: I don't like them
Apr 20, 2015 5:57 PM - Bill Monroe: isnt hairabo japanese origin?
Apr 20, 2015 6:04 PM - FlyMario: do swedish fish have blond hair?
Apr 20, 2015 7:02 PM - jbigler1986: Matt no need to send couplings since I have those already
    Apr 20, 2015 7:15 PM - jbigler1986: time to play with SW
Apr 20, 2015 7:32 PM - Droid: have you guys seen this little 3d printer? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tiko3d/tiko-the-unibody-3d-printer?ref=category_popular
Apr 20, 2015 7:32 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah looks like a piece of junk
    Apr 20, 2015 7:33 PM - jbigler1986: hahahah
Apr 20, 2015 7:34 PM - Mike Kelly: i don't trust students to be able to design and manufacture a printer
    Apr 20, 2015 7:34 PM - jbigler1986: over 2 million now. holy hell
Apr 20, 2015 7:35 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah good luck fulfilling 10,000 orders
Apr 20, 2015 7:36 PM - jbigler1986: they should have closed it a long time ago
    Apr 20, 2015 7:41 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah we'll see
Apr 20, 2015 7:41 PM - Mike Kelly: i expect it to bomb
    Apr 20, 2015 7:43 PM - jbigler1986: damn holes
Apr 20, 2015 7:45 PM - jbigler1986: is it easier to create a hole with an extruded boss or hole tool in SW?
    Apr 20, 2015 7:49 PM - jbigler1986: nvm
Apr 20, 2015 7:57 PM - Mike Kelly: i typically use the hole wizard
Apr 20, 2015 7:57 PM - Mike Kelly: depends on my mood
    Apr 20, 2015 7:57 PM - jbigler1986: hmm
    Apr 20, 2015 8:01 PM - jbigler1986: extruded cut seems easier
Apr 20, 2015 8:02 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah it's pretty simple but the hole wizard is nice when you don't want to deal with tolerances manually
Apr 20, 2015 8:03 PM - Mike Kelly: i wonder how much mike has spent on his CNC
Apr 20, 2015 8:04 PM - jbigler1986: is there an easy way to make sure these holes are aligned? create a center line?
    Apr 20, 2015 8:04 PM - Mike Kelly: vertical/horizontal relation
    Apr 20, 2015 8:05 PM - Mike Kelly: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:731086 owns
Apr 20, 2015 8:07 PM - jbigler1986: i'm making 4 holes on a plane. i just want to make sure they are all aligned the same so it doesn't look weird
Apr 20, 2015 8:08 PM - Mike Kelly: i generally use construction lines
    Apr 20, 2015 8:27 PM - jbigler1986: almost done with it
Apr 20, 2015 8:32 PM - Mike Glass: ears must of been burning
Apr 20, 2015 8:33 PM - Mike Glass: did you build the drill yet
    Apr 20, 2015 8:34 PM - jbigler1986: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gq6jpgg86p5l5dt/Nozzles.SLDPRT?dl=0
Apr 20, 2015 8:34 PM - jbigler1986: not perfect. not to bad either
Apr 20, 2015 8:35 PM - Mike Glass: now what are you building
    Apr 20, 2015 8:36 PM - jbigler1986: nozzle holder
    Apr 20, 2015 8:36 PM - jbigler1986: how is ur cnc going?
Apr 20, 2015 8:37 PM - Mike Glass: good, we just been working on some other adaptors for like a cutting knife and pen to fit.
Apr 20, 2015 8:37 PM - jbigler1986: how much longer do you think you have on it
Apr 20, 2015 8:37 PM - Mike Glass: im making a pen adaptor instead of buying on though.
Apr 20, 2015 8:38 PM - Mike Glass: Im reinforcing the bottom of the build plate now, and made some adjustments on the z axis tool holder position, so hopefull in a few days.
Apr 20, 2015 8:39 PM - jbigler1986: what is your first part going to be on it? after getting it dialed in that is
Apr 20, 2015 8:41 PM - jbigler1986: this was my first "complex" part in SW. Not complex at all for you guys. But for my noob self it's a start
Apr 20, 2015 8:42 PM - Mike Glass: a brass stamp for my business that I can use to brand our furniture
    Apr 20, 2015 8:43 PM - jbigler1986: nice
Apr 20, 2015 8:43 PM - jbigler1986: i need to print some woodfill just for the smell. lol
Apr 20, 2015 8:47 PM - Mike Glass: I have it scaled down to do metal 15x 20 but have it so I can move the ends out and make it 30x20
Apr 20, 2015 8:48 PM - Mike Glass: I would just have to swap out one of the bars on the Y
Apr 20, 2015 8:57 PM - Mike Kelly: hey mike how much do you think you've spent on the cnc so far?
Apr 20, 2015 8:59 PM - Mike Glass: I know exactly how much. $450 that with 2 rolls of pla and 4 endmills
Apr 20, 2015 9:00 PM - Mike Kelly: what were the most expensive bits?

    Apr 20, 2015 at 9:02 PM - Mike Glass: $13
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:03 PM - Mike Kelly: geez
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:03 PM - Mike Kelly: just a lot of components i guess
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:06 PM - Mike Glass: I shared my doc with you mike
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:18 PM - insomniac_lemon: Man. Printing out on tape with low smoosh and trying to print an "endcap" for an extruder holder and it warped more and more :(
    Apr 20, 2015 at 9:18 PM - insomniac_lemon: it's 70F in my room, too
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:19 PM - insomniac_lemon: part of the bottom turned out reaally nice though
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:20 PM - insomniac_lemon: like just the lines without even any tape texture. I wish there was a simple way I could stop warping without just lowering where *some* parts destroy my tape
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:21 PM - insomniac_lemon: And I used a larger grid infill, it is SO BEAUTIFUL how it optimizes the path and how it turns out
Apr 20, 2015 at 9:25 PM - insomniac_lemon: I don't suppose even heating the bed to 30C-40C would stop or at least slow warp?
    Apr 20, 2015 at 10:45 PM - WayUpNorthMN: HMM
Apr 20, 2015 at 11:02 PM - insomniac_lemon: I faintly remeber reading something about PLA and lemon juice..... would making a citric acid slurry and putting a thin layer on the tape help maybe?
    Apr 20, 2015 at 11:05 PM - insomniac_lemon: Or sugar water?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:44 AM - jbigler1986: morning
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:50 AM - jbigler1986: well son of a slut. my funnel came loose. oh well
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:51 AM - jbigler1986: i guess i need to add a brim to it. hopefully is doesn't mess up my other part
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:22 AM - JeffTheMess: Good morning Roboteers
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:23 AM - JeffTheMess: brim is awesome until its time to remove it
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:25 AM - jbigler1986: it always just peels off for me
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:25 AM - jbigler1986: did a nozzle holder in SW last night.
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:26 AM - jbigler1986: proud of myself. getting the hang of SW now
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:26 AM - JeffTheMess: got a jpeg?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:27 AM - jbigler1986: i do not. give me a minute
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:28 AM - JeffTheMess: cool
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:28 AM - JeffTheMess: thats good your are learning it...its awesome to see a design come to life
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:37 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:37 AM - jbigler1986: damn. hold on
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:39 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:39 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:40 AM - JeffTheMess: pretty good, your gonna have it hanging off something, right
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:42 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. i have these boards on the back of my desk that you can hang stuff on
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:43 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:44 AM - jbigler1986: you can see the trays hanging on them
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:44 AM - JeffTheMess: thats a nice setup you got there
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:44 AM - jbigler1986: I can going to make trays for it too. Those metal ones that came with it suck. Stuff falls off all the time
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:48 AM - JeffTheMess: nice, did that geared heart work well?
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:49 AM - jbigler1986: it worked ok. I printed it when my printer was not printing good. If I printed it now it would work perfectly.
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:51 AM - jbigler1986: like the cube gear that you see in the gyroscope. that thing needed 0 post processing and everything snapped together perfect and it works beautifully
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:51 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, that thing looks freaking awesome
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:52 AM - jbigler1986: I will probably print a new heart gear in pink
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:53 AM - JeffTheMess: your setup reminded me I gotta print out feet for my printer
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:53 AM - jbigler1986: it helps with airflow a lot
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:56 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, i want that thing as cool as possible, I wanted to ask Mike K, if there are better hardware than the RAMPS system
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:59 AM - jbigler1986: sounds like a lot of work
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:00 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, but its half the fun to upgrade, i'm more hardware than software kind of guy, (even though I will have to deal with it)
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:03 AM - Stephen Capistron: AFAIK if you want to get away from RAMPS you also have to ditch the Mega 2560
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:03 AM - JeffTheMess: you know the advantage of that system?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:03 AM - Stephen Capistron: http://reprap.org/wiki/Alternative_Electronics
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:04 AM - jbigler1986: small, cheap, reliable
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:04 AM - Stephen Capistron: http://reprap.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Electronics
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:04 AM - Stephen Capistron: second link is a big table
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:05 AM - JeffTheMess: perfect thanks Stephen
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:12 AM - Stephen Capistron: Tom Sandelererererer probably has a video that goes through each one
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:14 AM - Stephen Capistron: http://reprap.org/wiki/Rambo
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:14 AM - Stephen Capistron: http://reprap.org/wiki/RUMBA
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:15 AM - Stephen Capistron: I think both of those will have no problems with Marlin, I just don't know if they are an upgrade that is worth while
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:17 AM - Stephen Capistron:
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:19 AM - JeffTheMess: wow thats alot of info SC, thanks!
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:20 AM - Stephen Capistron: i can only find the info
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:20 AM - Stephen Capistron: understanding it is a whole nother ballgame
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:21 AM - JeffTheMess: my whole main thing with printing is bridging and overhangs if I can increase the range of each, while being stable I would have a successful printer
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:22 AM - JeffTheMess: and i dont want to deal with sla printing
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:23 AM - jbigler1986: those aren't the ramps issues. those just involve lots of tweaking and adjusting to get them right
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:24 AM - Stephen Capistron: yeah, i wouldn't expect a different controller to get you there.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:24 AM - Stephen Capistron: Do you run S3D?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:25 AM - JeffTheMess: i have it but im currently having connection issues
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:26 AM - jbigler1986: did you do my suggestion yet
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:27 AM - JeffTheMess: cant i have inlaws over right now -_-, i hope to try soon
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:27 AM - jbigler1986: forgot about that
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:28 AM - Stephen Capistron: bad usb connection?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:29 AM - JeffTheMess: i dont think because s3d see the com port but doesn't see the printer (if that makes sense)
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:29 AM - Stephen Capistron: Anyways, I'd try printing with S3D with support and see what you think. Good support should mitigate a lot of overhang / bridge issues
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:30 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah i hope so, because mattercontrol and I are getting a divorce im and tired of her way of life
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:30 AM - Stephen Capistron: Com Port? Over my head. My computer figures out what is plugged in where by using black magic
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:31 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:32 AM - JeffTheMess: com port is basically a serial connection, which is a way to send more data
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:34 AM - JeffTheMess: trust me SC, you probably know more than I do about the printing world
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:35 AM - jbigler1986: yeah anything that may need support i just add it anyways in s3d. it's so easy to remove.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:36 AM - JeffTheMess: jb you use only pla right? for support
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:36 AM - jbigler1986: yep.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:37 AM - jbigler1986: lots of times if i have support on the bed it literally stays there when i remove the part
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:39 AM - jbigler1986: i can't print ABS without it warping. next time i print with ABS i'm cranking the bed up to 100
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:39 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah im so excited to get s3d working right
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:39 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, i dont think ill ever use abs to be honest
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:41 AM - jbigler1986: i find that it breaks apart easier than PLA. Like layer wise. I might need to increase temp to adhear layers better
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:42 AM - Shank: What’s the benefit of going to a E3d extruder?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:43 AM - JeffTheMess: depends on who you ask, Mike K says with the hex extruder (print with pla and abs) no need to change
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:44 AM - JeffTheMess: but with more flexible filament i hear it works wonders
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:44 AM - jbigler1986: easier for maintenance, allows to have a higher filament diameter tolerance
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:45 AM - jbigler1986: I have had 0 issues with mine.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:46 AM - jbigler1986: threaded hold that uses a m3 screw to hold the resistor in place
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:46 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah thats one thing i always hear, alot less jams
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:47 AM - JeffTheMess: (not the Bob Marley type)
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:48 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. only jam I have has was due to offset was to low and a bug or something in my filament
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:49 AM - jbigler1986: i had a spool of pla that average diameter of 1.9mm. hex wouldn't print it at all. e3d printed the whole spool without issue
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:50 AM - Shank: How hard is it to make that mod? I know I am having tep. error problems with my printer now and was just thinking why not change to a E3d head that the same time.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:50 AM - JeffTheMess: thats with hatchbox filament?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:50 AM - jbigler1986: no it was shaxon
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:51 AM - jbigler1986: very simple. just a little wiring and a small change of the firmware
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:52 AM - Shank: no change to the X carriage?

    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:52 AM - jbigler1986: not at all
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:52 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah just take care on how you put on the nozzle i have seen many of them break
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:53 AM - jbigler1986: that goes with any hotend that has a heat break
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:53 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:54 AM - Shank: That will probably fix my temp. error at the same time, I think I have thermistor problem with my current hex head
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:54 AM - jbigler1986: yeah the only thing holding on the thermistor is the stupid boot. bad design if you ask me.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:55 AM - JeffTheMess: have you checked your current thermistor?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:55 AM - jbigler1986: you can get a threaded thermistor for the e3d if you want
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:56 AM - Shank: I probably will switch to a E3d, then I can print flexible filament
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:57 AM - jbigler1986: you can print flex with hexagon
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:58 AM - Shank: heres my next question, how hard is it to add a Chimera extruder?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:58 AM - Stephen Capistron: Wait for Mike Kelly to wake up and ask him
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:59 AM - Stephen Capistron: he has done that and a cyclops
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:59 AM - Shank: so Hard
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:59 AM - Stephen Capistron: not necessarily.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:59 AM - jbigler1986: not super hard to add it. getting it working right is a whole different story
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:00 AM - jbigler1986: then you gotta add another extruder as well
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:01 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah even though most software has a second extruder feature it...its not as easy as flipping a switch
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:02 AM - Shank: well at some point i want to add another extruder, i would really like to mix colors and run support out of a dissolvable material.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:02 AM - JeffTheMess: thats a great idea
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:02 AM - jbigler1986: meh. s3d support is easy enough to remove
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:04 AM - JeffTheMess: but different color could add a mechanical feature to it
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:04 AM - JeffTheMess: i wish I could go home to work on s3d!
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:05 AM - jbigler1986: if i want another color i will just pause. granted that is only layer color change
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:05 AM - Shank: its a bad thing when your at work wanting to leave to go work on your printer.
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:06 AM - JeffTheMess: welcome to the robo forum!
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:08 AM - jbigler1986: haha. i go home on lunch lots of times to start a new print, change nozzle, etc...
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:10 AM - jbigler1986: where is Bill
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:10 AM - Shank: you can buy a s3d at print solid right
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:11 AM - jbigler1986: yes shank
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:12 AM - JeffTheMess: He should have been on by now
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:12 AM - jbigler1986: he usually is
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:12 AM - JeffTheMess: shank before you go and buy it, make sure that it will work best for you, you make not like it
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:12 AM - jbigler1986: i need to tell him that his puzzle cut sucked. didn't fit
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:13 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:14 AM - JeffTheMess: ("hey morning bill!, your puzzled cut sucked!") did the puzzle cut have tolerance?
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:14 AM - Shank: Well I have a feeling it will be a stepping stone, until I know enough knowledge to build a dual extruder
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:15 AM - jbigler1986: just needed to fit. didn't though. A for effort
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:18 AM - jbigler1986: i will design it in solidworks tonight and cut it. i puzzle cut my tool holder and it fit perfectly. he must have just straight cut it. not sure though
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:23 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:23 AM - Shank: whats the difference between bowden and direct? the only thing i see is one has a tube and one doesnt
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:24 AM - JeffTheMess: direct is at the extruder(what you have right now is direct)
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:24 AM - jbigler1986: bowden you don't have the extruder on the carriage
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:24 AM - JeffTheMess: you can get faster speeds with bowden I believe
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:25 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:27 AM - Shank: that has a clean look to it
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:27 AM - jbigler1986: that's what i wanted
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:27 AM - jbigler1986: I went back to direct though
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:30 AM - Shank: does it still have that clean look?
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:30 AM - JeffTheMess: i think the direct is pretty and clean
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:31 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:31 AM - jbigler1986: that is how mine looks now
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:32 AM - Shank: so basically with direct all i am doing is changing the hot end
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:33 AM - jbigler1986: if you got to e3d?
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:33 AM - JeffTheMess: the hotend stays where it is
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:33 AM - Shank: ya changing to a e3d direct
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:34 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. just taking out the current one and replacing it
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:35 AM - Shank: i probably will buy the direct then. i will need help with firmware when i get to that point
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:36 AM - jbigler1986: that no biggie
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:37 AM - jbigler1986: follow this to assemble e3d
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:37 AM - Mike Kelly: morning
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:38 AM - jbigler1986: morning
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:39 AM - JeffTheMess: morning
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:45 AM - jbigler1986: you like my highly complex SW part MK? lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:46 AM - Mike Kelly: lol yeah it was awesome
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:46 AM - Mike Kelly: difficult to print that though
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:47 AM - jbigler1986: how so?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:47 AM - jbigler1986: using support
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: you could design it to not use support though
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM - JeffTheMess: you could have cut the part so you wont need much
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: if you make it the same width throughout
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM - JeffTheMess: ( i type slow)
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: i just try and design for no support
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:49 AM - jbigler1986: if anything but s3d i probably would have put more thought into it with that regard
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:50 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jbigler1986
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:50 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i just find supports lead to failure

Apr 21, 2015 at 7:53 AM - JeffTheMess: what happened there!?
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:54 AM - jbigler1986: the base was really tin circle with not much touching the bed. it came loose after like the 3rd layer
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:54 AM - jbigler1986: that's why i was saying i need to add a brim to it
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:54 AM - Mike Kelly: ah that's the funnel
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:55 AM - jbigler1986: yes it is a funnel
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:55 AM - jbigler1986: may end up being usable. might be half the size though. lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:58 AM - Mike Kelly: someone just asked for help printing a part, and it looks like a card skimmer
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:59 AM - jbigler1986: hmmm. legit use or not?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 7:59 AM - Mike Kelly: i don't know yet
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:00 AM - jbigler1986: seems a little odd
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:00 AM - Mike Kelly: def makes me not want to help
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:00 AM - JeffTheMess: card skimmer? hmm
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:01 AM - jbigler1986: if it for a legit business they should get one with a POS system usually
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:01 AM - Mike Kelly: right
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:01 AM - jbigler1986: was it on this forum
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:02 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah it was in a PM but he sent it to like 4 of us
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:02 AM - JeffTheMess:
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:02 AM - JeffTheMess: just sayin...
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:03 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah that's also a major issue these days
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:03 AM - JeffTheMess: yes it is
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:03 AM - Mike Kelly: i should get an rfid blocking wallet now that i have a few
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:04 AM - Mike Kelly: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1jkqvqaaf7600jx/gamezone3mmMag (1).stl?dl=0

Apr 21, 2015 at 8:04 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. our info is so easily available nowadays. it sucks
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:04 AM - Mike Kelly: yup that's why i like the idea of expiring pins
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:05 AM - Mike Kelly: need to get away from fixed information
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:06 AM - JeffTheMess: I wonder if anyone was scammed yet for apple wallet thing
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:07 AM - jbigler1986: if not yet they will
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:07 AM - Mike Kelly: apples pretty good at security, but people are stupid
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:08 AM - Stephen Capistron: We just got our new chipped cards
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:08 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah apple security is military grade security (don'y know if thats good or bad)
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:08 AM - jbigler1986: I had some itunes purchases like 2 years ago on my bank statement. I was like wtf is this. I called apple and they were like "We don't see any purchases from you with that card number on our end"
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:09 AM - Mike Kelly: strange
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:10 AM - JeffTheMess: apple works alot with hashing your info so there may be confusion there
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:12 AM - jbigler1986: Yeah I was like "I'm looking at my bank statement right now. It's on there"
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:12 AM - jbigler1986: I got it back from my bank. not apple though
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:15 AM - JeffTheMess: good ol' apple
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:15 AM - jbigler1986: that part is interesting
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:16 AM - JeffTheMess: An apple a day aint worth the pay
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:17 AM - jbigler1986: did you ask him what it was for?
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:17 AM - JeffTheMess: be safe than sorry dont even bother with it
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:18 AM - Mike Kelly: "an electronics board"
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:18 AM - Mike Kelly: my red flags are going up
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:18 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. screw that
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:19 AM - Mike Kelly: he's from india
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:22 AM - JeffTheMess: well that changes everything(not), they scam alot over there people from there have been caught trying to be the IRS
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:22 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah definitely
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:22 AM - Mike Kelly: very questionable
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:23 AM - JeffTheMess: you have the link to the post?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:23 AM - jbigler1986: that's shady as hell
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:24 AM - Mike Kelly: it's a private message
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:25 AM - JeffTheMess: even more shady
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:26 AM - Mike Kelly: "his friend wants to use it for an electronics board"
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:26 AM - jbigler1986: yep. adds to the red flags that he didn't want to ask for help from the whole forum
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:27 AM - Mike Kelly: he's private messaged us before
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:27 AM - JeffTheMess: similar items?
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:27 AM - Mike Kelly: nope
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:28 AM - Mike Kelly: before it was just general troubleshooting
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:28 AM - Mike Kelly: this is much more troubling
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:30 AM - Mike Kelly: seems like an honest mistake
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:30 AM - Mike Kelly: but yeah
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:30 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah even though those others project may not pertain to it they may be related....just be careful mike that's very strange request
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:30 AM - Mike Kelly: that was a new one
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:30 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i told him i wasn't going to help
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:30 AM - Mike Kelly: and made a note in the pm to the other recipients
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:31 AM - JeffTheMess: good
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:35 AM - JeffTheMess: (would be funny if its for charity or something, highly unlikely though)
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:36 AM - JeffTheMess: jb is your print okay?
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:39 AM - Mike Kelly: i don't think india is very big on charity what with their caste system
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:39 AM - Mike Kelly: looks like it stopped extruding
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:43 AM - JeffTheMess: the forum being quite lately
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:43 AM - Mike Kelly: quite what?!
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:44 AM - JeffTheMess: (silent)
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:45 AM - Mike Kelly: ohhh quiet
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:46 AM - JeffTheMess: typo
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:46 AM - Mike Glass: morning all
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:46 AM - JeffTheMess: like a ol' western town...people come for gas and drive off( or is it just me)
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:47 AM - Mike Glass: Mike I need shrouds:(
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:49 AM - jbigler1986: nope it's not. damnit. it survived for a while until the funnel screwed it up
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:51 AM - jbigler1986: i may have ran out of filament.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:51 AM - jbigler1986: it was low
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:52 AM - JeffTheMess: what's the purpose of the funnel?
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:52 AM - jbigler1986: my wanted it for sugar and stuff
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:52 AM - jbigler1986: wife
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:53 AM - JeffTheMess: ahhh understood
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:53 AM - Mike Kelly: ok mike
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:53 AM - Mike Kelly: you know my birthday is tomorrow, you could send me the graphics lcd and i'll get you some shrouds ;)
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:53 AM - jbigler1986: i can't tell if it's extruding or not
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:54 AM - JeffTheMess: its not
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:54 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah def not
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:55 AM - Mike Glass: If I didnt just spend $500 on software...
    Apr 21, 2015 at 8:55 AM - JeffTheMess:
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:56 AM - Stephen Capistron: CNC stuff?
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:56 AM - Mike Glass: But now I can build some really cool stuff on it.
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:56 AM - Mike Glass: Yea, my Carvewright, had old basic software, had to upgrade to get STL file imports.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:01 AM - Leon Grossman: Just popping in to tell Mike I got my Chimera/Cyclops kit.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:01 AM - Leon Grossman: It's very, very nice. :)
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:02 AM - Mike Kelly: oh sick man
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:02 AM - Mike Kelly: it's a nice little bundle
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:02 AM - Mike Kelly: lemme know if you need any help
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:03 AM - Leon Grossman: It is nice. Assembly was a pain. I like the fact that I can take a Pico out of the box and put some connectors on it and go.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:03 AM - Leon Grossman: But, the form factor, mounting, rigidity, etc are all pretty amazing.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:03 AM - Leon Grossman: I did post a question over in the E3D forums.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:04 AM - Leon Grossman: I'm having to extrude PLA at 230.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:04 AM - Leon Grossman: But I think that's probably because I installed my stainless steel nozzle.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:04 AM - Leon Grossman: I'll switch to brass tonight.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:05 AM - Mike Glass: Where did you get the kit from Leon?
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: i generally print hotter with the cyclops as well
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: but if you did stainless you must be running chimera
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:05 AM - Leon Grossman: I haven't tried the cyclops portion yet.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Leon Grossman: I ordered from Filastruder.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: i prefer the cyclops
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Leon Grossman: It seems you can get it from PrintedSolid, Filastruder, MatterHackers, and E3D.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Leon Grossman: https://bootsindustries.com/wordpre...eUpload/ea/bd33b605dc7cc3da099d3b1c055410.png
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Leon Grossman: There's my install.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Leon Grossman: I've removed the nuts in between the plates since that picture.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Leon Grossman: So far, the thing I like best is that it isn't a J-Head.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Mike Glass: Rockin a Delta, sweet.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Mike Kelly: haha
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Leon Grossman: So I don't have the hole pendulum effect going on. The Picos were great but there was always more wiggle than I'd like.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:08 AM - Leon Grossman: And those were dramatically better than the E3D v5 I was using before.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:08 AM - Leon Grossman: Yeah, I bought a Boots Industries delta last fall.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:08 AM - Leon Grossman: I received it in November, nearly threw it away in January, spent the next 3 months going all bionic man on it.

Apr 21, 2015 at 9:09 AM - Mike Kelly: can someone test the search function and let me know if it's working
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:09 AM - Leon Grossman: The only thing I haven't replaced on it is some of the wire and most of the frame.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:09 AM - jbigler1986: it works mike
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:09 AM - Mike Kelly: i'd like a delta to play with but right now i think any money i do for hobbies should go towards a cnc cutter
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:10 AM - Leon Grossman: Yeah. That makes sense.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:10 AM - Leon Grossman: An X-Carve/Shapeoko 3 or something more robust.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Leon Grossman: If I can get my delta to handle ABS, I will be very likely to decommission the Robo 3D sometime in the next couple of months.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Mike Kelly: right now i'm considering the one that mike g is building: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:724999
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Leon Grossman: Right now, I suspect that the build volume on the delta is so big that I can't keep the air warm enough to do ABS.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Mike Glass: I will take it off your hands
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Harry: Guys, is the search feature working for you guys?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - jbigler1986: yep
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Mike Glass: Searching............
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Leon Grossman: That's kind of a cool CNC.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:12 AM - Harry: k great thanks!
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:12 AM - Leon Grossman: I don't know what I'll do with the Robo if I do decommission it.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:12 AM - JeffTheMess: sometimes when search on google to a specific subject instead of going to the direct page it goes straight to the forum home page
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:12 AM - Mike Kelly: turn it into that CNC
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:13 AM - jbigler1986: ^
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:13 AM - Leon Grossman: I can't sell it for enough to make selling it worthwhile. Especially after the fact that I also rebuilt it.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:13 AM - Leon Grossman: I may donate to my local hacker space or loan to a friend.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:13 AM - Harry: thats because its probably still indexed to the old forums
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:13 AM - Harry: So then it redirects to the new forum homepage
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:13 AM - JeffTheMess: ok cool thanks
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:13 AM - Leon Grossman: Or just keep on standby for emergencies.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:14 AM - JeffTheMess: (or donate it to Mike K?)
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:14 AM - Mike Kelly: lol i don't need more printers
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:14 AM - Leon Grossman: Hehe
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:14 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:14 AM - JeffTheMess: print for you printer's printer
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:15 AM - Leon Grossman: Part of the beauty of my delta is there are exactly two printed parts on it.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:15 AM - Leon Grossman: The optical sensor flag and the upper idler pulley mount.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:15 AM - Mike Kelly: did you machine the mount plate for the cymera?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:15 AM - JeffTheMess: nice
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:16 AM - Leon Grossman: I did. I used the shapeoko at my local hackerspace.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:16 AM - Leon Grossman: 3 hours to machine a small disc out of aluminum but it was worth the effort.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:16 AM - Mike Kelly: very nice
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:17 AM - Mike Kelly: i'd like one of those but they're expensive
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:19 AM - Mike Kelly:
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:22 AM - JeffTheMess: wow what a save
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:29 AM - Leon Grossman: wow
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:31 AM - Mike Glass: must of been return to home was off
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Mike Glass: on the gps settings
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Leon Grossman: I didn't have audio on.
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Leon Grossman: Did he just run out of range and catch it before the battery ran down?
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Stephen Capistron: how can it have enough juice to descend slowly, but not enough to get over land?
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:33 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah low battery would go home override the user control
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:33 AM - Mike Glass: yup
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:34 AM - JeffTheMess: he should know that he didn't have enough battery too oh well don't disrespect quads!
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:36 AM - Mike Kelly: yes yes i totally understand this conversation
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:36 AM - Stephen Capistron: my favorite quad copter
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:36 AM - Stephen Capistron:
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:37 AM - JeffTheMess: ah... it was a tiny prize too lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:38 AM - Mike Kelly: hell of an athlete to do that though
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:38 AM - JeffTheMess: yes indeed
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:39 AM - Mike Glass: fly that in the wind...lol bubye
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:39 AM - Mike Kelly: lol
    Apr 21, 2015 at 9:39 AM - JeffTheMess: one of a kind
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:39 AM - Mike Glass: too bad it wasnt 3d printed
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:40 AM - Mike Kelly: i wish that allted guy came to the forums
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:40 AM - Mike Kelly: this made me laugh on the tattoo addon: Really though, not a good idea....
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:46 AM - Mike Kelly: where did you come up with the name bobcat anyways?
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:47 AM - Mike Glass: You dont like Bobcat
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:48 AM - Mike Kelly: i like it was just curious what spurred it
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:48 AM - Mike Glass: the color I did mine represents Montana State University and my printed bobcat
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:49 AM - Mike Glass: avatar
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:49 AM - Mike Kelly: gotcha

Apr 21, 2015 at 9:54 AM - Stephen Capistron: ause, spares
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:55 AM - Mike Glass: I had to run downstairs somebody just put a ton of lithiu-ion batteries in the recycling, so I grabbed them all, brand new 7.4v 11ah
Apr 21, 2015 at 9:57 AM - Mike Glass: Did you see one guy build with chrome emt, I gotta find some of that, ultra smooth.
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:01 AM - Mike Kelly: what the what
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:02 AM - Mike Kelly: to both things
    Apr 21, 2015 at 10:02 AM - Mike Kelly: i have something like 10 608zz's right now, i'll probably just buy 2x30
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:02 AM - Mike Kelly: you ended up with hard wired steppers yeah?

Apr 21, 2015 at 10:04 AM - Mike Glass: yea all mine is 12v I should change that
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:04 AM - Mike Kelly: i guess you can use either, sweet, that's another thing i don't need to buy
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:05 AM - Mike Glass: I didnt need one but didnt want to mess with a computer power supply
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:05 AM - Mike Kelly: i have my old 12v from the robo
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:06 AM - Mike Glass: you gutted the ps?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 10:07 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i threw in a 24v
    Apr 21, 2015 at 10:09 AM - JeffTheMess: nice
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:12 AM - Mike Kelly: mike can you send me your invoice from fastenal
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:25 AM - Mike Glass: how about a checkout
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:27 AM - Mike Kelly: sure whatever you can do to save me time
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:31 AM - Mike Glass: I updated the document, it now has the the correct shopping cart. Warning the coupling nut is the wrong size so dont order that, they dont have the right size on those.
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:31 AM - Mike Kelly: cool
    Apr 21, 2015 at 10:31 AM - Mike Glass: I just used 2 5/16 nuts instead
    Apr 21, 2015 at 10:31 AM - Mike Kelly: .75" wrench nut?
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:32 AM - Mike Glass: so order 3 of those instead of 1.

Apr 21, 2015 at 10:32 AM - Mike Kelly: i'll grab one at ace
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:33 AM - Mike Glass: Yea think its the same as the robo nut, as long as it is 12.5mm, the ones they supply are 11mm outside
    Apr 21, 2015 at 10:33 AM - Mike Glass: Ace wanted $3 fricken dollars..lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:33 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah ace is not cheap
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:33 AM - Mike Kelly: need to go buy some #10-1"
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:51 AM - Mike Kelly: bah a few things on your cart aren't available
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:53 AM - Mike Kelly: also damn i'm hungry
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:54 AM - dbvanhorn: ?? Sitting here in front of the idle printer, I just watched the filament snap just above the extruder!
    Apr 21, 2015 at 10:55 AM - JeffTheMess: sucks
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:56 AM - dbvanhorn: wondering what caused it.
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:57 AM - Mike Kelly: how old is the filament
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:57 AM - Mike Kelly: and is it stored in airtight containers with desiccant
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:57 AM - jbigler1986: so it wasn't in use and it just snapped?
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:57 AM - dbvanhorn: about 1 month, stored in a sealed bucket with dessicant.
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:58 AM - dbvanhorn: It has been sitting still for about an hour
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:58 AM - dbvanhorn: I just did a bend about an inch above the break, and i was able to bend it to about 160 degrees
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:59 AM - mark tomlinson: I have had that happen with woodfill, but that is the only one
Apr 21, 2015 at 10:59 AM - mark tomlinson: If I forget to unload it after it finishes it will do that
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM - jbigler1986: must of had some imperfection
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:01 AM - JeffTheMess: hmm...seems odd i have my filament for long than that with a problem
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:01 AM - jbigler1986: happens
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:01 AM - dbvanhorn: I was on the phone, sitting here and heard a noise from the printer. It's snapped clean.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:01 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i have some pretty brittle filament, never really knew the root cause though
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:02 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:02 AM - Mike Kelly: probably a temp variation combined with tension
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:02 AM - Mike Glass: mine does that if I leave it in for a day or so.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:02 AM - dbvanhorn: snapped about 1/2 inch above the hobbed bolt
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:03 AM - Mike Kelly: i guess that's what $15 filament gets you :)
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:03 AM - jbigler1986: lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:03 AM - jbigler1986: MG is that yellow in your avatar the hatchbox yellow
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:03 AM - jbigler1986: Haven't printed with it yet
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:04 AM - Mike Glass: Nope, JUSTPLA Translucent Yellow
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:04 AM - Mike Glass: I have some new colors showing up today, cant wait.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:05 AM - jbigler1986: FYI. Don't let your wife watch you order filament. I had to order some purple because she liked it
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:05 AM - JeffTheMess: ammonia anyone?
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:06 AM - Mike Glass: My wife is clueless to what I order, she doesnt even know about the cnc..lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:06 AM - JeffTheMess: hows the humidity of your rooms?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:06 AM - jbigler1986: lol MG
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:06 AM - Mike Kelly: lol mike, tisk tisk
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:07 AM - jbigler1986: we use the same amazon account so she knows what i order
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:08 AM - Mike Kelly: i got approval to make the cnc
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:08 AM - jbigler1986: oh snap. what do you have to allow her to get now?
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:08 AM - JeffTheMess: nice..you "loan officer" said yes lol
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:09 AM - jbigler1986: there is always a catch
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:11 AM - jbigler1986: jeff tell your in-laws that you are busy and get going with s3d
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:11 AM - Mike Kelly: haha, i just gotta make her stuff with it :)
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:11 AM - Mike Glass: I think I might have to tell her about the bones I just spent on the upgrade software though
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:12 AM - jbigler1986: there is a good selling point MK
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:12 AM - Mike Glass: but she bought me my first cnc so....
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:12 AM - JeffTheMess: I should i need s3d asap
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:13 AM - Mike Kelly: i'm glad i was able to put s3d as a work expense
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:13 AM - JeffTheMess: lucky you mike, i wish i could do the same
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:14 AM - Mike Kelly: makerware is nice but puts down just crazy amounts of support
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:14 AM - Mike Kelly: so i was gonna try to reduce that with S3D
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:14 AM - Mike Kelly: but then i ran out of time on the project
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:15 AM - JeffTheMess: makerware!? MAKERWARE!?
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:16 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i got a rep2x for work before they got bought by the devil
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:16 AM - JeffTheMess: i hope you threw some open source holy water on it
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:17 AM - jbigler1986: don't tell Bill they are the devil
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:17 AM - Mike Kelly: i actually kinda like it, been really solid for me
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:18 AM - Mike Kelly: it's a shame the gen 5 when in the opposite direction, but i think we know who's to blame for that
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:18 AM - Mike Kelly: i would have gotten an ultimaker 2 and modded it for dual extruders but it was a 6 month lead time at that point
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:18 AM - Mike Kelly: and my boss is no where near that patient
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:18 AM - jbigler1986: have you used a solidoodle
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:18 AM - Mike Kelly: not but i've heard not good things about it
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:19 AM - jbigler1986: I am eyeballing a 3 for $300
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:21 AM - JeffTheMess: I hope you threw some open source holy water on it
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:21 AM - JeffTheMess: ultimaker I like
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:25 AM - dbvanhorn: Is there a howto on improving the bed leveling? I notice that the skirt prints a bit more smashed in some locations than others.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:28 AM - JeffTheMess: is your bed flat to begin with?
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:31 AM - jbigler1986: do the paper level or dial indicator
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:32 AM - dbvanhorn: It's flat across the travel of the printhead
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:32 AM - jbigler1986: gotta be off somewhere
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:33 AM - dbvanhorn: Measuring with a witness block between the rails and the glass.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:33 AM - dbvanhorn: Seems like the glass isn't perfectly flat
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:33 AM - JeffTheMess: you have a bulls eye level?
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:34 AM - dbvanhorn: ?? yes, but level to earth isn't supposed to matter.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:38 AM - toy: http://www.ruland.com/ps_couplings_oldham.asp couplers im going to use for my cnc
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:43 AM - JeffTheMess: right, if your good to earth, then you can check the level of your x axis rods
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:43 AM - Mike Glass: use a dial it never lies
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:46 AM - dbvanhorn: I don't have a dial, but I feel small differences and i see the first layer more or less "squished" in multi-object prints.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:47 AM - dbvanhorn: I put the witness block under the rails and adjust the steppers till it just barely drags on the left and right sides.
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:47 AM - dbvanhorn: It's not a big delta, it just looks like it could be improved.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:48 AM - jbigler1986: menards had dial indicators
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:48 AM - jbigler1986: has*
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:49 AM - JeffTheMess: you'll have to manually turn the threaded rods to get them even is my guess
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:49 AM - jbigler1986: yes
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:50 AM - JeffTheMess: (Yes, i helped someone!)
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:50 AM - dbvanhorn: I do that.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:52 AM - JeffTheMess: skills...custom
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:55 AM - Mike Kelly: ace didn't have the right size coupler nuts
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:56 AM - Mike Kelly: that's a cool rx7
    Apr 21, 2015 at 11:56 AM - Mike Kelly: i hope it's a twin turbop
Apr 21, 2015 at 11:56 AM - Mike Kelly: otherwise why bother
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:00 PM - Mike Kelly: so much clay
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:00 PM - JeffTheMess: yeah its nuts how perfect it came out
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:02 PM - Mike Glass: the whole body looks like clay
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:03 PM - Mike Glass: def not a chip foose
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:04 PM - Mike Kelly: lol not even close
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:04 PM - Mike Kelly: not bad for a custom job though

    Apr 21, 2015 at 12:55 PM - jbigler1986: u don't do that
    Apr 21, 2015 at 12:55 PM - jbigler1986: do you?
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:55 PM - Mike Glass: Do you operate heavy machinary?
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:55 PM - Mike Kelly: na i'll be fine
    Apr 21, 2015 at 12:55 PM - Mike Kelly: no i don't do anything
    Apr 21, 2015 at 12:55 PM - Mike Kelly: i sit behind a computer
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:56 PM - JeffTheMess: drink vinegar
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:56 PM - Mike Kelly: lol that doesn't do anything
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:56 PM - Mike Glass: eat poppy seed muffins..lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:56 PM - Mike Kelly: lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:56 PM - Mike Kelly: 'I swear I thought it was a regular brownie!"
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:57 PM - Mike Kelly: i was at a show on sunday, definitely a lot of smoke in the air
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:57 PM - Mike Kelly: pretty sure the girls were even smoking a blunt on stage
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:58 PM - insomniac_lemon: Not sure if anyone responded to what I said earlier.... would a sugar or citric acid slurry help with PLA adhesion to painter's tape?
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:59 PM - Mike Kelly: never heard that before
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:59 PM - Mike Kelly: might be worth an experiment
Apr 21, 2015 at 12:59 PM - insomniac_lemon: Well I've read lemon juice but it was never explained which specific component had the effect
    Apr 21, 2015 at 12:59 PM - insomniac_lemon: I've seen both
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM - Mike Kelly: well pla is made from organic matter like corn so it would make sense that it would stick well to it
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM - jbigler1986: what's wrong with hairspray and the glass bed
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM - insomniac_lemon: I mean, both make sense..... bonding with another sugar or breaking it down somehow bonding with the tape?
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:01 PM - Mike Kelly: i usually clean my tape with isoproyl and then give it a light spray of hairspray
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:01 PM - insomniac_lemon: Too messy and I don't want to have to deal with the smell and residue
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:01 PM - jbigler1986: maybe your offset isn't low enough
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:01 PM - Mike Kelly: that's too messy but you're ok with rubbing lemon juice?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:01 PM - jbigler1986: ^
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:01 PM - Mike Kelly: wait i get the name now...
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:02 PM - Mike Glass: ^
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:02 PM - insomniac_lemon: Just a light slurry? Yeah. Not like I have to worry about shielding hair spray from the internal components and extruder and such
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:02 PM - jbigler1986: i don't shield it
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:02 PM - jbigler1986: no issues for me
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:02 PM - insomniac_lemon: Wiping with a cotton ball vs. spray
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:03 PM - insomniac_lemon: plus it's in my room I don't want to smell that
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:03 PM - insomniac_lemon: I'm not you, am I? :p
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:03 PM - jbigler1986: painters tape should be enough on it's own
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:03 PM - jbigler1986: you might want to lower offset
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:03 PM - Mike Kelly: the off gassing from hairspray is mostly butane phase change
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:04 PM - Mike Kelly: or some other hydrocarbon
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:04 PM - insomniac_lemon: WHY DOES TAB COMPLETION OF NAMES NO LONGER WORK
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:05 PM - Mike Kelly: because you touch yourself at night
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:05 PM - insomniac_lemon: Yes, I have my offset really high. Problem being with lower offsets it rips up the tape and now I'm printing a huuuge object in comparison
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:05 PM - insomniac_lemon: plus elephant foot and different finish
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:06 PM - Mike Kelly: i like the printinz plate, very forgiving and no need for other chemicals
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:06 PM - insomniac_lemon: and it is just BARELY warping now... if I could print faster or in a heated chamber might not even be an issue
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:07 PM - jbigler1986: PLA doesn't need heated chanmber
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:07 PM - jbigler1986: chamber
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:07 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah you generally want less heat and more cooling for PLA
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:07 PM - insomniac_lemon: but if I'm getting warping it would obviously help
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:07 PM - jbigler1986: no
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:07 PM - Mike Glass: worse
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:07 PM - insomniac_lemon: I had fine first layer adhesion, it was warping as time went on

Apr 21, 2015 at 1:08 PM - Mike Kelly: your first layer probably wasn't very good then
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:08 PM - Mike Glass: use brim then
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:08 PM - Mike Kelly: unless you're confusing warping for some other issue
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:09 PM - insomniac_lemon: I also have no overhangs or anything that would really need rapid coolinh
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:09 PM - insomniac_lemon: *cooling
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:09 PM - Mike Kelly: pla always needs rapid cooling
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:09 PM - jbigler1986: are you confusing PLA and ABS
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:10 PM - jbigler1986: your issues sounds like ABS
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:10 PM - insomniac_lemon: Uhhh, nope. Just applying the same warp stuff. I am using PLA
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:10 PM - Mike Kelly: pictures speak 1000 words
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:11 PM - insomniac_lemon: Unless maybe I just tried light bed temp to see if it helped
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:11 PM - jbigler1986: PLA very very rarely warps
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:11 PM - Mike Kelly: i print at 40C for PLA
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:11 PM - Mike Kelly: higher temps on the first layer can improve adhesion
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:11 PM - jbigler1986: i use 45C
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:11 PM - Mike Kelly: only time i ever had true warping on PLA was when i tried printing in a 15C ambient with no heat on the bed
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:12 PM - Mike Kelly: maybe it was 10C
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:12 PM - jbigler1986: what temp is the extruder
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:12 PM - Mike Kelly: i'd get curling something
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:12 PM - insomniac_lemon: Not much to see now, I took it off the bed already. The first 6 or so layers had no warp at all. Then the bottom left corner lifted up a little and gradually got worse until the whole bottom was warped up
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:13 PM - insomniac_lemon: 200C I think
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:13 PM - Mike Kelly: do you mean curl?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:13 PM - insomniac_lemon: Yes, curl
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:13 PM - Mike Kelly: ok that's not warping
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:13 PM - Mike Kelly: curl is a function of support
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:14 PM - insomniac_lemon: Well I'd say curling is a form of warping? Unless you thought I meant the shape itself shrank?
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:14 PM - Mike Kelly: http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/cont...juice_to_help_your_3d_prints_better_stick.jpg this is warping
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:14 PM - jbigler1986: we need oics. would help us a lot
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:14 PM - Mike Kelly: it's a function of internal stresses deforming the objects shape
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:14 PM - jbigler1986: pics*
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - Mike Kelly: curl is localized and is when the layer is not properly adhered to the one below it
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - Mike Kelly: you can reduce curling by increasing cooling
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - Mike Kelly: or increasing supports
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - insomniac_lemon: That's what happened Mike, just on one side
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - insomniac_lemon: It wasn't between layers
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - Mike Kelly: that's warped on both ends
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - insomniac_lemon: So.... not.... delamination was it?
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:15 PM - Mike Kelly: i need a picture man, your descriptions aren't making sense
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:16 PM - Mike Kelly: but chances are you need more cooling
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:16 PM - Mike Kelly: add a second fan
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:17 PM - insomniac_lemon: I'm printing off the extruder holder for my Cyclops assembly.... still on hex, adding another fan is not.... ugh
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:17 PM - jbigler1986: u have a cyclops?
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:18 PM - insomniac_lemon: Yes, but not installed yet
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:18 PM - insomniac_lemon: I've been trying to get all the pieces together and this is basically the last one
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:20 PM - Mike Kelly: http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/content/6/2/6261_22_punchtec_ord_bot_hadron_3d_printer_review.jpg this kinda shows curling, where when the overhang is bad it will lift up
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:20 PM - jbigler1986: you have some issue you need to figure out before upgrading man
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:21 PM - jbigler1986: not trying to sound like a dick
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:23 PM - insomniac_lemon: Mike, not overhang. It IS warping. I'm printing a shape like the side of the the R1 top.... a cartoon bullet-like shape. The square end started lifting later in the print, starting from the left corner to the right corner
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:24 PM - Mike Kelly: picture of what you're trying to print
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:24 PM - Mike Kelly: also brim
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:25 PM - Mike Kelly: when in doubt, use a brim
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:28 PM - insomniac_lemon: jbigler.... yeah I know.... but I just need the ONE PRINT to work out and when I replace it the issue will be fixed
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:29 PM - insomniac_lemon: Mike: http://i.imgur.com/FZrUsai.png
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:29 PM - Mike Kelly: what does your first layer look like
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:29 PM - Mike Kelly: do you have an lcd?
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:30 PM - insomniac_lemon: No I don't have an LCD. You mean the GCODE or how it actually turned out?
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:30 PM - Mike Kelly: how it actually turns out
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:30 PM - Mike Kelly: even a picture of a skirt would suffice
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:31 PM - insomniac_lemon: Either way, fully infilled in the entire shape, was adhered properly, as in no warping issues apparent
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:33 PM - insomniac_lemon: It probably could be caused by my plate itself being slightly warped but I dunno any way to fix that
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:34 PM - insomniac_lemon: Because I think it IS higher (the head is closer to the plate) in the back than the front, which is consistent with the issue
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:36 PM - Mike Kelly: probably issues with your autolevel
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:36 PM - insomniac_lemon: About what you said earlier Mike, do you think I should have the heated be on AND enable the cooling fan on the beginning layers?
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:36 PM - Mike Kelly: first layer no fan, rest 100%
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:37 PM - Mike Kelly: if you're using slic3r do first layer of 70, rest 40
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:37 PM - Mike Kelly: some people just run their bed at 70 the whole time
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:37 PM - insomniac_lemon: Actually Cura still
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:37 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah cura doesn't do that yet
    Apr 21, 2015 at 1:38 PM - insomniac_lemon: ffs
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:38 PM - insomniac_lemon: I coulda swore the fan was off on the beginning layers.... but I could be wrong
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:39 PM - Mike Glass: I use 60 but dont use anything but a clean bed with denatured alcohol for some pla
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:39 PM - Mike Kelly: usually it's disabled on the first layer by default in cura
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:45 PM - Mike Glass: is that shroud done yet Mike:)
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:46 PM - Mike Kelly: you knew the deal ;)
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:49 PM - Mike Kelly: will design for parts
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:49 PM - jbigler1986: where is the tracking for his full graphics? :)
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:51 PM - jbigler1986: I mean yeah MK. Fan shroud. jk
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:52 PM - Mike Glass: Ok, im:) leavin work now, to nice outside to be working.
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:52 PM - jbigler1986: it is gorgeous here as well. except for it being windy as hell
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:52 PM - Mike Kelly: jealous
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:53 PM - Mike Kelly: i'd like to go home
Apr 21, 2015 at 1:53 PM - Mike Kelly: gotta design wire routes! oh boy!
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:14 PM - jbigler1986: How small of increments can I adjust offset? Is .05 smallest
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:14 PM - Mike Kelly: .01
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:15 PM - Mike Kelly: at least on the lcd
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:16 PM - Mike Kelly: i assume you can do less but that's really mincing hairs
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:18 PM - jbigler1986: Need to lower it a tiny bit. At .5 might try 48
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:18 PM - jbigler1986: Negative that is
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:19 PM - jbigler1986: Wait. Or would it be 52
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:20 PM - Mike Kelly: if you want it to be closer to the bed it would be .48
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:20 PM - Mike Kelly: but 20 microns? really?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:21 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah. Why not
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:21 PM - Mike Kelly: just such a small change
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:22 PM - jbigler1986: That's what I want
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:22 PM - jbigler1986: .475
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:23 PM - Mike Kelly: lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:38 PM - Shank: hey, my thermistor keeps popping out. does anyone have a idea on how to keep it in
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:45 PM - Mike Kelly: kapton tape
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:45 PM - Mike Kelly: or drill/tap an m3 hole then use a screw to hold it in
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:47 PM - jbigler1986: Bam

Apr 21, 2015 at 2:48 PM - Mike Kelly: this is funny: a writer tested how hard it was for unknowns to get published by querying the National Book Award winning novel "Steps". All thirteen agents and fourteen publishers rejected it, including Random House, which had published the book but didn't recognize it.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 2:49 PM - jbigler1986: Wow. That's crazy
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:49 PM - Mike Kelly: hilarious the original publisher wouldn't recognize itr
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:50 PM - jbigler1986: .48 looks great. Idk what happened with my print earlier. Wasn't really jammed. Oh well. Life goes on
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:51 PM - Mike Kelly: do you run an oiler

Apr 21, 2015 at 2:54 PM - Mike Kelly: afternoon link dump!
Apr 21, 2015 at 2:58 PM - Mike Kelly: this is so silly
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:28 PM - Mike Kelly: argh this afternoon is crawling
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:28 PM - Mike Kelly: i really hope updating to solidworks 2015 fixes my horrible slowness
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:43 PM - insomniac_lemon: Hmm, just found something at reprap forums on large PLA warping "The why is simple. You are cooling the print too much, and with each successive layer shrinking, the stresses cause the part to warp. It's somewhat of a trade-off. I use a fan on smaller prints where warping isn't as much of an issue, but cooling each layer is. I turn it off for larger prints where the print has time to cool, but a fan would cause warping"
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:44 PM - insomniac_lemon: I'm assuming that disabling the fan in Cura would just be setting the max at 0%
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:45 PM - insomniac_lemon: It is SUPER slow so it should have sufficient cooling time, anyways.... or maybe again low bed temp and low fan speed (25%?)
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:47 PM - insomniac_lemon: Plus slowing the first layer speed more should help
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:47 PM - insomniac_lemon: and slightly lower offset since sticking won't be an issue
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:49 PM - Mike Kelly: interesting
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:49 PM - Mike Kelly: TIL
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:50 PM - insomniac_lemon: Although why neither Slic3r nor Cura have elephant foot compensation in 2015 is beyond me.... that would solve my issues foreverandever
    Apr 21, 2015 at 3:50 PM - insomniac_lemon: Well.... more of a tape-y texture but I'd deal with it
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:51 PM - Mike Kelly: that's why i usually fillet the bottoms of my prints
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:52 PM - insomniac_lemon: Mike: I would try it now but it's 60F in my room now.... was a bit fairer before at 71F so kinda disappointing I still had issue
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:53 PM - insomniac_lemon: Yeah, but it's just so simple they could implement it boggles my mind they haven't fixed this issue that affects EVERYONE
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:54 PM - insomniac_lemon: I tried doing a manual fix on one of my other prints and it still was a bit awkward.
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:57 PM - Mike Kelly: i only get elephant feet when i'm too low on layer 1
    Apr 21, 2015 at 3:57 PM - insomniac_lemon: Printing in 0.4 on a 0.8 nozzle, though?
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:58 PM - Mike Kelly: i didn't know you were doing that
    Apr 21, 2015 at 3:58 PM - Mike Kelly: i guess i did notice a bit more with 0.4 on 0.6
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:58 PM - insomniac_lemon: I mean, it's *designed* for the first layer to smoosh down (aka be too low) so no matter what you're going to get some amount of elephant foot
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:58 PM - Mike Kelly: not really
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:59 PM - insomniac_lemon: just more noticeable with some settings
Apr 21, 2015 at 3:59 PM - Mike Kelly: you'd have to look at the g-code but i believe it raises the expected amount
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:00 PM - insomniac_lemon: Not really how? That's how the slicers expect the first layer, to be smooshed for adhesion on layer 1.... in a way that will create elephant foot
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:00 PM - insomniac_lemon: all the documentation admits this
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:01 PM - insomniac_lemon: and it's basically just an offset with no layer scaling, which is the issue
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:02 PM - insomniac_lemon: I mean, S3D might be different IDK, but not Slic3r or Cura I know
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:02 PM - Mike Kelly: i don't think that's true at all
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:02 PM - Mike Kelly: the first layer is suppose to be the specified layer height
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:02 PM - Mike Kelly: every layer is smushed down
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:03 PM - insomniac_lemon: Yeah, each layer is *offsetted* down, making the 1st layer smooshed more
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:03 PM - Mike Kelly: i've never seen that in the g-code, it's always a G1 Z0.3
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:06 PM - insomniac_lemon: What are you trying to say?
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:06 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm saying the slicer doesn't tell it to put out more material on the first layer than any other layer unless you specify as such
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:07 PM - insomniac_lemon: I never said it did. It just moves all layers down which makes the first layer shorter with the same amount of material and thus smooshes it down
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:07 PM - insomniac_lemon: this elephant foot
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:07 PM - insomniac_lemon: *thus
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:08 PM - Mike Kelly: that would be a hardware/firmware issue, not a slicer issue
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:08 PM - Mike Kelly: look at the g-code and you'll see what it does instead of guessing
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:09 PM - insomniac_lemon: No. Because to counteract the elephant foot the Slicer would need to take layer 1 and scale it down where (given all of the parameters it knows) the smoosh results in the proper size
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:10 PM - insomniac_lemon: Same material amount, but smaller layer 1
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:11 PM - insomniac_lemon: Because that's the slicer's job, not hardware/firmware
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:12 PM - jbigler1986: Woqh

    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:14 PM - jbigler1986: Why so big
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:14 PM - TechSupportGo: if not I am about to start designing, looks like I have to push it back a little and add a shroud type thingy
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:15 PM - jbigler1986: MK pretty sure I had a tiny clog. Restarted and I think it cleared itself
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:15 PM - jbigler1986: Try and keep as much build height as you can
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:15 PM - insomniac_lemon: It's kinda like putting ketchup on a hamburger. You KNOW when putting the bun on it's going to smoosh the ketchup out, so don't put ketchup on the entire burger. As in, plan ahead....
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:15 PM - TechSupportGo: these fans are 20cmf each
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:16 PM - jbigler1986: Be careful that you don't blow that much air on to the heat break
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:16 PM - jbigler1986: Block
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:17 PM - TechSupportGo: I will still have the same clearance for build height
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:17 PM - TechSupportGo: ok
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:29 PM - TechSupportGo: have you seen what bill has pushing air onto his prints?!?!
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:33 PM - Mike Kelly: woo got my 15 pin connector
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:33 PM - Mike Kelly: it'll have to wait a couple days though
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:34 PM - jbigler1986: Nope. U do that now
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:34 PM - Mike Kelly: nope, red wings game
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:34 PM - Mike Kelly: about to meet my coworker at the bar to watch
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:35 PM - jbigler1986: What's more important? Come on now
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:35 PM - Mike Kelly: hockey
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:35 PM - jbigler1986: Lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:35 PM - jbigler1986: Maybe I should have ran this through netfabb first. Looks like poop
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:36 PM - Mike Kelly: tsg i bought some 40x40x20 fans but never installed them
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:36 PM - Mike Kelly: they're so fat
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:38 PM - Mike Kelly: heh both captains in the box
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:38 PM - Mike Kelly: wonder how often that happens
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:40 PM - jbigler1986: This funnel is to thin. What's an easy way to make it thicker? Or should I just design one
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:40 PM - Mike Kelly: design
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:40 PM - Mike Kelly: that's a simple revolve
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:41 PM - TechSupportGo: I plan to push vertical on the outside of the barrings
    Apr 21, 2015 at 4:42 PM - TechSupportGo: if i get a working design I will share :)
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:42 PM - Mike Kelly: nice
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:42 PM - Mike Kelly: i wonder if you could fit that on the current hexagon fan shroud design
Apr 21, 2015 at 4:43 PM - Mike Kelly: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:784951 walter makes fun things

Apr 21, 2015 at 5:01 PM - jbigler1986: Got any good thoughts on a dial indicator mount that can be held without magnetics?
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:07 PM - jbigler1986: Maybe one that can snap on over the nema 17 case
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:07 PM - Printed Solid: tesseract posted one way back.
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:08 PM - jbigler1986: Hmm
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:08 PM - Printed Solid: search his thingiverse
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:08 PM - Printed Solid: why do you need an indicator?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:09 PM - jbigler1986: I was curious to see how level I am
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:09 PM - jbigler1986: Well the robo that is
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:11 PM - jbigler1986: Didn't see it on his thingiverse

Apr 21, 2015 at 5:22 PM - jbigler1986: to the rescue once again
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:23 PM - Printed Solid: :)
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:33 PM - jbigler1986: I meant to ask you if you had a part but I forgot
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:41 PM - Shank: anyone know where i can buy a new thermistor? i just snapped a wire of mine
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:48 PM - jbigler1986: The man right above you
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:48 PM - jbigler1986: Hexagon hotend?
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:49 PM - Shank: yes
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:49 PM - jbigler1986: Hey Matt. Do you have thermistors?
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:50 PM - jbigler1986: Did you get the current one out of the heatblock
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:51 PM - jbigler1986: If you can solder, you can just solder it back together
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:51 PM - jbigler1986: Until you get a replacement
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:51 PM - Shank: ya it came out, then when i went to put it back in...snap
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:51 PM - Shank: im not that good at soldering, way to small
    Apr 21, 2015 at 5:52 PM - jbigler1986: And that's why I don't like that boot
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:52 PM - jbigler1986: Send printed a pm and ask him
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:53 PM - jbigler1986: It might not be on his website but he usually has everything you need
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:54 PM - Shank: yep the boot sucks, i already sent robo a part replacement with hope they will give me one.
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:56 PM - Shank: i'll send matt a pm also, plus i have my e3d on its way
Apr 21, 2015 at 5:58 PM - jbigler1986: E3d uses a 3m screw to hold it in place. Way better. You can also order a threaded thermistor that screws directly into the e3d heatblock
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:01 PM - Shank: i should just wait for the e3d im going to which it out when it gets here anyways
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:01 PM - TechSupportGo: my plans to take over the world are not going so well..
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:04 PM - jbigler1986: Explain?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:06 PM - Mike Glass: Jb you gonna make me some shrouds?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:07 PM - jbigler1986: Haha. If you want the screwed up
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:09 PM - Mike Glass: Maybe I should.of ordered only abs
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:10 PM - jbigler1986: I may make an attempt at making on for myself. If it works then I could. But by that time MK will probably have them for you
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:10 PM - TechSupportGo: solidworks
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:10 PM - Mike Glass: he didnt want too though
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:11 PM - Bradf80: Trying out 3d solutech see through green atm, have to run this stuff hot for PLA
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:11 PM - jbigler1986: Hmmm. Don't you use SW though
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:13 PM - jbigler1986: There is just so little room for shrouds with these all in one designs. May need to be designed into the holders themselves
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:14 PM - jbigler1986: I don't have the SW file though
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:14 PM - Mike Glass: I may just put an angle piece to protect the air from the hotend.
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:15 PM - Mike Glass: to the hotend not from..lol
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:15 PM - Mike Glass: that should work
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:15 PM - jbigler1986: Should. Do you have the SW file for your dual fan holder?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:17 PM - Mike Glass: yep
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:18 PM - jbigler1986: Wanna pm it to me
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:20 PM - TechSupportGo: yeah but the mirror function isnt working out for me because the history isnt there and blah blah blah might have to design from scratch or do one side at a time
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:22 PM - Mike Glass: ok found it
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:32 PM - jbigler1986: I need to install SW on all of my computers. Wife is hogging the laptop that's it's on
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:33 PM - jbigler1986: ok. got it
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:36 PM - jbigler1986: do you put your hotend fan on the right or left side
    Apr 21, 2015 at 6:36 PM - jbigler1986: i would assume left?
Apr 21, 2015 at 6:47 PM - Mike Glass: yep left sorry
Apr 21, 2015 at 7:58 PM - Mike Kelly: I can do some shrouds for you but it'll be a day of two
Apr 21, 2015 at 8:36 PM - TechSupportGo: MK if you can figure how to put the two 40x20 fans on there I would be your friend forever

Apr 22, 2015 4:49 AM - Bill Monroe: I saw a tiny electric indoor/park b-17 you can buy ready to go.. it was pretty neat
Apr 22, 2015 4:49 AM - Stephen Capistron: he starts showing off doing barrel rolls and loops
Apr 22, 2015 4:50 AM - Stephen Capistron: then radios over to the bomber asking if he can do that.
Apr 22, 2015 4:50 AM - Stephen Capistron: The response is silence for a while
Apr 22, 2015 4:50 AM - Stephen Capistron: The fighter pilot radios back over asking where he went.
Apr 22, 2015 4:51 AM - Stephen Capistron: Bomber responds by saying he got up took a leak and got a hot cup of coffee
Apr 22, 2015 4:51 AM - Stephen Capistron: If you want to see a trick I can turn off two engines, can you do that?
