    Hi All,

I'm a Newbie, I recently started a job that had a maker garage, and after playing around with 3D printers for a few weeks decided to get one. didn't think i could build one(Software Engineer, never dealt with hardware myself) for my first go but i fell in love with the maker community very quickly. I bought a 3D printer thinking i'd print small gears/cases for my ardiuno builds or for friends. so i printed some small things, Broke the printer i don't know how many times in my first month alone(cables snaping, Extruder leaking, bearings missing, zstop switch breaking, that piece that holds filament to the gearwheel snapping in half etc.) but i was having a blast learning and getting stuff printed.

so after my first Month of printing... i decide to do this:

I printed a 4ft Gun for my Cosplay....more or less to see if i could do it. I started with small model. then blew it up to 2ft. and cut it into sections. Then i did the whole thing full scale.....I broke my printer badly, but i also was able to fix it and learned so much.

Side note... anyone want to help/walk me through Calibration, i read a lot online/forum posts and did a lot manually, but i feel i'm missing stuff i just don't understand.
