    1) Does anyone know if Simplify3d comes with auto level built in for the R1?
    2) Is it worth upgrading if you have an r1?

Likely print 50% in PLA and hopefuly 50% in ABS (still learning).

Autolevel is just adding G29 and an offset. It's based in the firmware

It's not worth the upgrade unless you see yourself getting $140 worth of value out of it.

I'm printing a lot of parts with over hangs and I was hoping for better support options.
Side note, I'm using the print to make protoypes for fit and function and also for working functional parts.

If the time you're working on the printer is paid for by someone else, then it's worth it for the printing benefits.

If you're not making any money off prints it's not worth it.

The support is great, but not $140 great

I hear there's some bay out there full of pirates that might know where to get a "demo" of simplify

If they refuse to demo their software themselves it was bound to happen.

You can try CraftWare slicer from CraftUnique. I don't think it has auto level feature. The software is still in beta and has bugs, but it's free.

I think craftware exports G-code. If it doesn't allow you to edit the startup script you can always manually add in the autolevel code in a different software

Like Mike says, depends on your use. Having support for the software is nice, but not worth the cost by itself. Having functional, working SUPPORT material (without having to do anything) was for me. Meant the difference between printable and non-prinatable models.

    Thank you guys.

Simplify, just responded with the needed file to add in for auto leveling. Just goes to show, their customer support is on the ball.

Are you saying they have an auto level routine specifically for the Robo?

That is exactly what I am saying. They sent over the file and instructions. See below. I plan on buying the software this week and trying it out. I'm traveling for work so I will not be trying it till the weekend.

    Greetings Robert,

Thank you for contacting Simplify3D support. I'd be happy to answer your question. Because not every Robo 3D on the market has an auto-leveler, the profile that comes stock in the software does not include the auto-leveling function. However, if you open the software, click on Edit Process Settings and use the Import button highlighted below, you can select the Robo 3D with Autoleveler profile I've attached and you'll be good to go!

Thanks for posting the file. Out of curiosity, since you didn't have the software yet, what made you contact them regarding auto level?
