Last night I was fooling around with my printer "doing an inspection," and I "accidentally" made it go beyond the limits of the Z axis. I initially thought that I had alleviated the issue, however...

The printer would not print curves, ellipses were rectangles and nothing was sticking to the bed regardless of the 3 layers of hairspray.

Thanks to the knowledge gain here, I figured it was the Z axis. So I checked the limit switches and the darn thing was just floating up. I tightened the brass nuts and sat the plastic assembly thingy that holds the switches and made sure they were snug and were no longer floating and bouncing. I used a bubble leveler to make sure the X axis rails were level. Reprinted and voila; fixed. I am learning...:)
