For Thingiverse projects, I'm wary of anything which hasn't already been printed by others and which haven't yet received some positive reviews. And if they don't include a photo of the printed part, then I'll also pass.

I'm convinced that many of these projects have never been printed before even by the original author.

Easy to check a model through netfabb or the azure cloud. Id recommend checking them (i dont like azure because i cant see the issues) then before you print check the preview. Youd be amazed at the models i see from clients

Hey, with a little (very little) practice you easily model things that look awesome and are completely rubbish to print :)

Meh, I don't include photos in my submissions, but I have printed them at least once before submitting, sometimes even multiple times as I iterate through design changes. But my final designs rarely go up on Thingiverse, YouMagine, Pinshape or any of the repositories since I am usually building models that are monetized in some way. I will put final designs up on Autodesk360.com if they are being built to fulfill some specific request.

@mark tomlinson I have a whole library (Fusion 360 calls them Projects) that are full of unprintable parts. I also have a few that are uneditable (that is not really a word), because any edit will break the model, only way to fix some of them is to rebuild them from scratch.

As a heads up, anyone using Windows 10 on current version has 3D Builder built-in, which will fix files for you and also make simple edits very easy.

    Nice.

I have a HTC Vive and work in Unreal 4 every day ( work ). I tried to use the editor in VR mode but the resolution of VR is trash I didn't like it.

We have an original Oculus as well as the Vive.
The Vive is better than the original Oculus at any rate, nit sure about the later versions.

I have used both, Vives tracking is better. Oculus consumer screen seems better to me and its headset is lighter. I cant get behind supporting oculus because of their Facebook ties and terrible business practices.. BS Exclusive crap on PC for a peripheral device.

Thread is way off topic now LOL
