    Hello,

I've been forced to turn off the skirts printed because I am printing near the maximum build volume of my machine. Is this bad? Is this good? So what? Did the corporate giants of the filament industry fabricate this to pad their bank accounts? Or am I defying some laws of physics and my prints are about to spontaneously combust?

My prints are coming out fine. Is there a time when this is absolutely needed?

Not really. Helps to prime the nozzle and allow you to check everything is copacetic, but not a requirement.

Yeah skirts are just like a nozzle priming/test setup to make sure everything looks good before you hit the main print.

If you get a good first layer with quick priming there's no need for a skirt.
