    Hi,
after i think i made good progress with PLA, going to ABS shouldn't be too hard, tought me wrong...

It kind of s sticks to the painter tape, but it seems that way too much filament is being extruded. I usually use Cura for slicing but i see the same thing happen with Slic3r.
    Any idea? Reduce extrusion multipler?

    Thanks!

I think I would try adjusting the temperatures a bit. What are you running the extruder and bed at?

This was coming to mind as well. I was trying with 210/100, I will try 220/100 later today. Any other suggestions?

ABS I usually start at 225 (after the first layer I let it go to 220). For most rolls... I have one roll of filament that just plains works better at 230/225.

I just tried 220 and 230 but that doesn't seem to work either. I think I'll need to make it feed less filament, though the skirt looks ok to me.

    Finally, I made it ^_^

Using Kapton tape and 230/85 works perfect.

i didn't know that some ABS filament needs 230 to flow properly?

Yea, the quoted temperatures seem to be more like "Guidelines" than rules :)

You need to experiment (even different spools can have slightly different magic numbers).
I have taken to writing down the ones that seem best for each spool on it.

Warping is another 'feature' with ABS that you have to experiment with.
I have had to keep the bed much hotter than 80 on some prints (shape matters too) to minimize it.

I started with 200 yesterday, more accidentally than by intend. But that also worked

Need advice once more. The first layer all seems to push out to much.

The second layer kind of fixes and smoothens it.
    Any idea?

Try reducing your flow rate. Looking at your manual control page in repetier under extruder there should be a Speed [mm/min], try turning that down. I've been running mine at 90 but could probably go lower.

Looking at your skirt though you might be a tad too high, though that generally shouldn't make the first layer bulge like that. Generally I got that bulging on my first layer when I'm too low and the extruder drags around excess material.

    Hi Mike,

Thank you. I figured that yesterday evening, just didn't have time to report yet. I actually ended up with 90% (Cura), which works perfectly.

With Cura, I had to crank a lot of the numbers down. It tends to move too fast and extrude too much with the normal settings. Still, there have been a number of models that Slic3r just died on and Cura worked fine :)
