upgrade the RPI to an UDOOX86?

    You could, but why? Seems like a big waste of money and effort for minimal gains. There are parts of RoboOS that are tied to features of the rPi so if you can't duplicate those you won't be able to run the Robo LCD. We don't know all the moving parts of RoboOS because Robo does not publish the source even though it uses a lot of OSS libraries.

    Besides this making the rPi side faster does not really improve the printing with regard to speed or precision.

    Not sure what "more power" you think you need from the Pi.
    The Pi does not control the printer directly (i.e. it does not run the firmware).

    I do not think that is current, but yea .. that is one fork of it.

    @JeffreyB That code is so old, it is basically unusable.
