@mark tomlinson you ate correct :) not a one on Amazon that will "plug and play" on the r 1+

@WheresWaldo i was looking for those also, thank you, but currently I'm hunting the board side connectors.

It appears robo used those connectors in the link on the wiring harness, but generic ramps boards have the standard dual pin rows which makes the "cheap" boards I'm finding not a usable spare

No, you would need to replace connectors to use the standard RAMPS.
PITA, but a one-time deal since you would (clearly) just stay with them :)

However, under warranty, I would do what you have -- stay with the custom one and get them to replace it.
Out of warranty? I would be a connector rewiring monkey for a bit then then throw that 'special' RAMPS in the bin.

Hmmmmmmm.... That is a pain lol. Oh well like you said one and done. Link to acceptable connectors ? I'll get the one warranties by robo but after that I'll be out of warranty and will swap it.

    Thanks in advance !

So, me not having a board to look at (maybe you can post a picture?) here are the differences Mike noted:

    New Ramps board
    • Swaps D10 and D9 positions, adds 2 pin connector for D10. Firmware stays the same (Pin 9 is fan, Pin 10 is extruder heater)
    • Removes E1 port and reroutes the trace to use as secondary Z driver
    • Adds 2 additional 12v pin outputs for LED's. Removes Aux 2 and 1
#1) A standard connector for #1 is already on the standard RAMPS (no connectors needed you just land the wires on the terminal). You would need to remove the connector from the thermistor wiring and just land it on the terminal block as well.
#2) you need not worry about, just land both steppers on the standard Z stepper outputs (there are two for that reason on the Z)
#3) I can help with if you post a picture of that :)

For #2 I suspect they did that to minimize the driver current for the stepper driver, but those cards can handle both Z steppers on the Robo without breaking a sweat

Normal RAMPS (note D8/9/10) (also note Z output has two headers):

Red board is the generic ramps with the dual header pin.

Blue board is the robo r1+ Ramps

I see the big difference being the fan connectors (the picture only shows1 of them) I can disassemble and take better pictures if needed

OK, what is the difference with the R1+ RAMPS and the dual header pins? I can't see those in the photos for the R1+ version.

The other fan and LEDs you can wire straight to the 12v bus from the P/S (it is what we did on earlier ones).
The parts fan goes to the new D8 and the other two are D9/D10 as per above.

Nah, hard to compare until you know. They rearranged it to make all of the connections to the RAMPS rather than some direct to the P/S. It is more logical, but in this case not really more functional.

I would just land them on the connector that supplies main power to the RAMPS (it is close). Put one on each power rail if you want :)

So I think we found the issue with the board. Ramps might be saved.

Burnt connector I never thought to look at... Ah when a simple thing smacks you in the face what do you say? You say nothing , laugh and post pictures so maybe the next guy won't feel so silly lol

I'll be honest a phone call from Jerry is how it was found. He suggested checking there so if there was issues he could get me the ramps and connectors. Turns out probably just need the connectors. I've had great luck with their service dept on the warranty stuff, just thrilled... Still ordering a few extra ramps :)

Ok.... So one big question lol. The new connector is taking to long and I have 2 ramps boards generic. But under the stepper drivers on the black r1+ board there are no pins so no jumpers, on the generic boards I have a bag of jumpers and where the stepper motor goes there are pins ? Leave the jumpers out ?

No, The jumpers are required on the standard RAMPS (at least some of them).
I made the mistake when swapping a bad RAMPS out (or at least one I was troubleshooting) and leaving the jumpers out. That will not work correctly.

    You get it :)

Those jumpers control the step fractions.
