I’m at my wits end trying to figure this out. It’s random when it does it but does it on every print. Temp doesn’t change it.
    Calibrated extrusion
    Calibrated Zed
    Ran PID tuning
    Does it with any filament
Does it with any file( files and filament work fine on other printer)
    Checked files for errors also
    Leveled bed
    Fans running
    Checked for clogs
Motors not hot/cold while printing just warm

It leaves an artifact of the missing/shifted part of the layer on the inside of the print.
I’m thinking it has to be something simple I’m overthinking at this point or something out of my realm of knowing (which is a lot)

If it is actually shifting (the layer is misplaced on the X or Y) then it is a loose drive cog almost certainly. Those are subtle because they are not as wild a shift as the loose belt would be. Make sure all of the set screws on the drive cogs are tight. Really tight. Sometimes they are even missing ...

Does that look like shifting to you? It’s not an entire layer. Just a partial layer. It’s certainly not aligned right lol. That is one thing I haven’t done is checked set screws. Are you talking about the y belt and x belt?

Yep, the stepper motor that pulls the belts. There is a drive cog on the shaft that locks into the belt teeth.
It has a couple of set screws (some only have one) that hold it tight to the shaft. If those get loose it can move in small increments and cause problems. Not an entire layer shift, but a 'jog'

Certainly the spots where it indents on the outside of one wall and then comes in on the inside of that same wall... that is a shift, but a small one.

Makes a lot of sense. Like I said, something I was overlooking. If it’s not that, would the belts be my next place to look?

Yes, but in all honesty a belt skip is usually a lot more obvious as the model will shift by as much as an inch :) and stay shifted.
Belt slip is just more obvious, the loose cogs are more evil because they can slip back and forth on the shaft in a small way and the defects are far less 'in your face'

I did check both of them and the y cog “seemed” to have one set screw a little loose. I tighten it down. It’s still doing it unfortunately. Only on the front on the models if that helps determine the culprit.

Are they hard to tighten? I don’t see a tensioner other than that spring on the X belt. Doesn’t look like that will take out all the slack I need removed lol.

what spring? Picture? The R1 has a zip tie. You have to remove it , tighten up the belt then put a new zip tie on. Or do what @mark tomlinson (and me after seeing his) and add a few to be tensioners.

Never seen one of those used on the belt, but ... not a silly idea.
You still want to have it with a low bass thrum when you pluck it.
