Solved z-switch help

trying to get the switch back in place. the nut seemed to be off. Now in the process seems that i broke off the switch. Confirming that now with the image. Buy any videos out there on switching out the switch?

 

I got the switch off. Need to order a new one. Going to try to solder a piece back on. But I have not seen any easy video to show how to align the switch once it is on. Having issues getting the Nut right into the correct place. I know to lift the assembly up, then turn the nut up or down then put the assembly back down. Anyone tell me how far the Nut should be sticking out on the bottom? That may help me get a good fit in less tries. My Left Image seems to be good. So will measure off that one.
