Didn't capture it in the picture, but the tops of the smooth rods and the ends of the threaded rods both run into some fixtures at the top end that hold them rigidly in line with the bottom mounting. This thing is like a rock compared to the R1.

Feb 5, 2016 6:45 AM - daniel871: I'll have to look at the couplers again to make sure they're actually rigid, but yeah, they appear to be. The whole "ten minute" assembly process was super easy. Maybe three minutes putting the actual frame together and plugging the wires in (the chain guide wires were already plugged in, only the stepper and thermistor wires needed plugging in). The rest was spent doing the paper-levelling setup with the wingnuts and moving the head around.
