I wonder if the 40 watt heater is what makes the difference. Maybe the 30 watt just can't keep up.

The 40 watt is fantastic for sure, temp falls haven't been an issue since I swapped. 2 fans not perfectly positioned could very well overrun a heater.

You could hook the other up and set the fans to 75% and see if that works

Yeah I'll do that. I found a pack of 40 watt heaters on amazon, maybe I'll go ahead and order those with some more of the Proto Pasta filament that I have fallen in love with haha.

Hi gage, if your still using the just connector on the heater you will need some jst connectors as well as these heaters won't come with them.

No problem buddy. You can re run the heater wires direct to the ramps board... I did but recently have swapped back to using the connectors

Are you using the stud type thermistor, or the Semi that comes with the E3D kit?

Keep your eyes out for when e3d releases their silicone boot for the v6. That is supposed to help keep things like a parts fan from cooling it off too much I believe, among other things. I'm interested in getting one if they ever release it to try it out at least.

Glad you figured it out. Seems like part fans are a cause in a lot of these temp issues.
