Solved help with upgrade

    Hi i have a robo beta and want to upgrade with leadscrew and endstops , but i have one quistion about the endstop issu, i've read on the forrums that i have to put the new endstop on the zaxes in serie i just want to now is that that i putt the wires from the new endstop and connect them with the old endstop? ( so cut the old wire and solder them together?) maybe some good advice? thanks , ill be gradfull .
    i do have the exampel of mike kelly in thing a verse .
    i'm not so good in electric so iff someone can explane step by step ,it will be helpfull

    Not sure how best to explain it beyond what Mike has out there.
    You add the new switch in series with the other one electrically.
    This way either switch triggered indicates a Z home.

    Here is a (rough) electrical diagram of the difference:

    That does not represent the printer electronics, just a general 'series' versus 'parallel;'

    so if i got it correct i think i can putt the other switch on the same wiring? from the ramps?
    i draw it in the pic whit paint so not so good butt i hope you see wat i mean arduino board 2 de switch endstop.jpg

    Yes, in series. You need to add a new bit of wire since the existing one is not big enough, but your drawing is good.

    Actually...
    Looking closer at your drawing
    You have wired this in parallel.

    Series is what you need. Put the one you add in-line with the green wire in that picture and you are correct.

    YOU CAN make them work in parallel, but it will mean that both switches must trip before a Z home is triggered. @Mike Kelly had done that with his auto-leveling kit and it is merely a choice. It changes behavior slightly, but it is not really bad thing. Stock Robo autoleveling has the switches in series as I mentioned.
