Unanswered X Carriage Making Grinding Sound?

    This morning I turned on my printer (R1+) and was greeted by this horrible grinding sound whenever I tried to move the X carriage from within the software (Moving it with my hand, it moves fine.), I'm using Mattercontrol, but I've also tried it in Cura with the same result.Whenever I try to move the carriage left or right, it seems to slide around and return to it's original position (see video). Any help is greatly apprieciated.

    When steppers are involved wires can also be a problem. Try and check the wires before you go into the trouble of replacing anything. (Although the X carriage motor doesnt move so it's probably not it)
