    So I have a question:
I tried removing my clogged extruder by loosening the screw and swinging out the bracket to release it.
The problem is, tho, the nut on the opposite end of the retaining screw spins inside its pocket.
Either the nut was too small, or it has moved the plastic around it and now is not retained enough to allow the screw to thread out
There is not enough of the nut protruding from the hole to get a hold of with needle nose pliers or anything.
I removed the stepper motor to get a better grab at it but no luck.

I called tech support and they were worse than useless.

Any help before I send the machine back?

You can try inserting a screwdriver tip in beside the nut that may help hold it.

Ive tried holding the nut in place with various screwdrivers, picks and pliers.
Theres just no good way to get a hold of it.

I understand. Not a fan myself of them using a nylock nut for that bolt. Seems not needed to me.

Brute force method I would use if it were me and I was out of warranty:

Dremel with a cut-off wheel/disk. Cut the screw in half then push the screw and stuck nut up and out then replace with new screw and nut.

Otherwise if under warranty, do what you said.

I managed to get it out
I just "forced" the slide out bracket open
Then, with it out of the way, I just pinched the assembly so there was enough of the nut exposed to get a hold of
Then just gave it a good half turn or so
Now the bracket slides in and out with just enough tension to hold it in place
Whoever decided to use nylon lock nuts there in a plastic housing should lose their job.
I do design work for a living and that shit is just lazy engineering & design.

    Happy ending!
At best he should keep his job but re-tasked to be the guy that unscrews his mistake or have to deal with the customers who are trying to fix it... THEN get fired!
