I have a PLA only with no heated bed and I have trouble with corners pulling off the bed.

If I print a piece with ears at the corners it works very well.

    My question is:
Is their a software that will add these to a STL file I have downloaded from thingiverse or do I have to use a 3D CAD program and add them myself?

I am not very good with the CAD program atm.

I never heard of such a prog.
But this should not be that difficult.
Make the ears or a ground plate with ears and save this.
Takte the thing and combine it with the ears (or plate).
You only have to scale it right.
Once done this should be easy.

    Or you upgrade your printer...

Try using a brim instead of the ears.
If you really like the ears and want to keep them, repetier host does allow you to import multiple objects onto the bed before you generate the code, so you can do it there instead of in a separate CAD program.
