The stock hex hot end on my R1 is leaking pretty bad so i purchased an E3d v6 to replace it. I have a question about installation. When installing the new fan for the E3D can tap into the wires that were ran for the 25mm fan that was originally on the hex hot end?

    Correct.
You know you can clean the Hexagon and tighten the heater block and nozzle ;)

Awesome thanks for the clarification. I ordered the E3d hotend the same day i ordered the printer. So since i am having issues i think ill just swap and clean up the hex and keep it as a spare. It has been working great up til this point. I keep getting blobs of black goo on my prints.
