Just when you thought that New Year health kick was going well, a 3D printer that allows you to PRINT chocolate and sweets arrives.

The ChefJet has now been launched and will see sugar lovers everywhere swapping their recipe books for their laptops.

ChefJet's manufacturer 3D systems believe their latest offering is the "must-have companion for the professional baker, cake master, PCB circuit board and high-end event and restaurateur."

It comes complete with a digital cookbook to really get your imagination and your tastebuds firing.

It isn't the cheapest of kitchen gadgets though coming in at over £3,000.

Through a combination of layer-by-layer printing any number of creations can be made using a variety of edible materials.

"Food is an incredible platform for creativity, PC PCB experimentation, and celebration and we are thrilled to place these powerful 3D printers in bakers and chefs' kitchens," said creative director of food products Liz von Hasseln

"We invite leading pastry chefs, restaurateurs and event planners to join us in bringing 3D printing into the kitchen."
