Mindshare's Printer

I got my printer. Looks good. No damage. I tried installing the com3'driver. How do I know if it installed properly?

I am following the setup guide and got to the point where you try and move the X, Y, or Z axis and I am not getting anything. It so silent. It does have a green light underneath.

I am thinking it's the com driver. Do I have to go thru hardware wizard and manually I install it. It said something but I wasn't to sure if that's what it ment.

When launching Repetier v0.95f
I get put in the settings for abs printer then connected. Green ok

The loaded up a cube. Sliced it. Manual control does nothing.

I get an error;

Error drawing 3 d view; attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indicator that other memory is corrupt.

Probably not this but did you try the home button on any axis first before trying a manual movement? What OS?

 

That sounds like it might be something computer related.

 

if windows make sure you have the latest .NET framework downloaded. That is an error applications written with .NET get from time to time

 

I don't get the error when using 0.95d version

Is there another thing I can. Heck n the printer I case a wire or connection is loose. To get the stepper motor to move, how would I be able to tell if it's in backwards?

Others have reported wire being squished to not being connected the correct way.

Any ideas? I'll give the net thingy download update a try but I am pretty sure it's there with the latest update already.

that is almost certainly a software not hardware related error

 

I have the latest net framework 4.5.1
Vista sp2
Repetier 0.95d

Works with all my other apps.

Should I try Cura?

OK figured it out. Should have been com4/

We are now off to trying this thing out. Woot!
