Need Massive Help

    I plan on ordering the ABS and PLA printer. So my question is which is "better" or pros versus cons.

    If I plan on printing with ABS plastic what should I buy with the printer? I heard some tape or something close.

    All i'm asking is for a jump start on getting the materials to print.

    I use PLA for metal casting, ABS everywhere else.
    PLA prints well on painters tape, ABS slurry works well for ABS

    Jeff has summarized a bunch of the info you're looking for nicely in the filament sub forum. I also started a thread in the calibration sub forum on recommendations for tools you might want to have on hand for when your printer shows up. Check out those threads and post back here (or there) with any questions you have.

    For what it's worth, I would recommend learning with PLA on painters tape before going to ABS. Not that PLA doesn't have its own challenges (you'll learn all about stringing and ooze), but I've found it a little bit easier to work with than ABS.
