So the printer has been working for a couple of months without issue, however on the last couple of prints while trying to go to zero, the head has seemingly traveled to the x-axis limit switch, hit it, and continued to keep trying to go to zero on the X-axis, making a lovely grinding noise as the belt skips over the gear. It'll eventually find the zero and continue to print normally, but that can't be good for the belt and the sound is un-nerving.
Is this the sign of a bad switch, or is it a tension issue, or something else?

check the wires on the switch, if they are all connected you could try swapping out the switch with one of the others and check if the switch is the problem.

if its not stopping it's not a tension issue
