I am fairly new to 3d printing. I have a ROBO r1 plus printer and it was printing fine until I had to take the extruder off to get stuck PLA out of it and now when I go to print it seems like it’s skipping a layer when it starts printing the base and then there are small holes on the sides of the print. I would greatly appreciate anyone who can help me fix this.

It sounds like the nozzle might be partially clogged.

do I need to take the extruder off and heat the nozzle to push anything through it that may be clogged?

Heat up the hotend, remove the nozzle then extrude filament. It should be clear. Back out the filament, reinstall the nozzle then use a nozzle cleaning needle to clear the nozzle. All of these things require at least 200° C or higher temperature. You might have to replace the nozzle if it doesn't completely clear.

Were you able to get it to print?
