Unresolved Prints always fail with .8mm nozzle

I've switched my chimera nozzle to a .8 mm nozzle after a bad clog and I can't get a print to complete. Printing at .5mm layers and it seems to not adhere to the previous layer correctly. Using PLA at 220 is there any other changes I need to make? Small prints seem to print ok but anything over a radius of about two inches layers don't stick
