Thermistor Problems

    When I start repetier and connect my printer it starts off saying that my printer is 250C. If I set it more than 250C it will start heating up but my thermocoupler says it only gets up to 180C before it says the maximum temperature has been reach and it shuts off. Is this a broken thermistor or what can I do to fix this?
