XXL display gibberish

I'm about 40% into a print job and my XXL display has all gibberish on the screen. The printer is still printing fine, but I wanted to pause it at 50% to change colors. Can I hook up my laptop without interrupting the job. Or is there anything I can do about the display?

 

I had the gibberish appear on mine the other day too. You can plug in your laptop without disrupting the print but for me I had to shut off the printer and turn it back on to make the LCD normal again.

The LCD still functions like it should though even if the display is crazy. If you can memorize the menu screens, you can probably make it to the pause feature even in gibberish mode.
