    Thanks I will try printing this off and see how my .4 tip looks. I really think I need to start getting into jerk and acceleration settings to get some good quality.

    I will post my results good or bad.

    Just had to try that in WoodFill (only a 20 minute print anyway).
    So here it is Au Natural (unpainted)

    you beat me to it. I am in the middle of a 10 hour print. is that as good as you can get it ?

    Heck no, that was with my 0.6 nozzle and default PLA settings.
    Just a default I use for test/throw-away prints.

    I was just curious how well it would detail in wood. Looks not bad considering the size and resolution.

    this makes me thing we should all seeing who can make the best print with no modding of the file at all. Only using print settings. should be a quick print so its not a big deal to run it tons of times.

    It is a 20 minute run at those settings. Looks good enough for me at that resolution. If you stained it and painted the stave rings to look like metal I hardly see how you could improve it.

    Start a thread to vote on the print subject then set a deadline and a judge. and if its super close we could mail them in. Maybe the winner gets a cool nickname?

    Makezine's test objects are a good way of testing printer quality.

    You don't want to do all the mods I did, but I'd lose on all fine detail stuff.

    I didn't mean it has to be as small as the barrel but something under an hour would be nice. and it also wouldn't have to be a real test print it could just end up being a cool chess piece or something along those lines. Going to need an admin to get it going though if there is going to be a prize like I suggested like a cool nickname or something like that.

    Yea, if your printer is not dialed in... attempting those might be hazardous to your mental health.
