My filament, abs and pla, are getting jammed in the heat break just before the heater block. Any way to fix that? It started a week ago and haven't been able to get a long print going without it starting to swell.[IMG]

    which hotend?
My initial suspect (regardless) would be the cooling fan on the heatsink section.

It started with the original then I bought a e3d clone. Same issues on both

Should have gone with the actual E3D :)
Still it is a cooling fan issue. There should not be melted plastic at the heat break (or if there is then the hotend is not working correctly).
Try another fan (or a bigger one).

I'm getting the "heat creap" between the heater block and the fan. That small space in between. I'm going to buy a ir temp sensor to see if what I'm reading is correct

Then there is a problem with the heatbreak itself.
The issue with many clones is that the heat break (which is a critical part of the hotend design) is simply to working effectively.

    Anecdotal data:
Our Delta printer came with an HE280 for the hotend and the heat break design on that was garbage. It would frequently cause failures/jams/etc. Since I swapped it to an E3D it has never failed again.

I just bought some Chinese heat breaks. They were drilled out to 1.8mm instead of 2mm. New filament slides right through. Teeth marks from the hobbed bolt??? Nope. Anyone have a 2mm drill bit??? Lol

Ill look at another heat break then. Although this happened to the hexagon extruder to, but I had been using black ABS and I've seen a history of issues with that color in a lot of forums

Quick update. Changed the heat brake and the heater block. Runs like an Olympic champ now.
