Just recived my ROBO R+1 and got it all set up and went to print first part and the Y axis will not move. All it dose is shake. Any ideas if it is a simple fix or if the stepper motor needs to be replaced ?

hi there. Just shakes in place? Or moves while its shaking? Check your belts and the such mechanically (that it moves powered off by hand) but it sounds like you should be looking at the stepper drivers and doing some tuning. If this machine is brand new or remaned with a warranty contact robo to get you some spare/replacement parts.

    It is a new machine.
Just shakes in place. When power is off I can move it front to back by hand. Belts are all good and nothing holding it from moving. I even removed the magnetic build platform and all it dose is shakes still no movement.

Waiting for tech support to get back with me.

Yea sounds like the most likely culprit is the stepper driver. Likely needs tuned. I'd wait and see what Robo says.

And that is the go-to if you want to learn how to do this. Given how cheap those are (out of warranty) the time involved is worth more to me than the cost of a stepper driver :) I usually just replace and toss.

Thanks to all that responded to my question.
I did figure out the problem. The Y axis stepper had a wire that was disconnected and not pushed into the plug. I re connected the wire and now it is working great.
